Kip could have died alone and terrified out in the woods but he passed away warm and safe because of you and Charlie. Many hugs.
So sweet 💜
Thanks for sharing such a sweet thought!!

good point. He was loved in his final hours. Still very sad
😭
Kip burrowed into Charlie's heart much deeper than his fur. Very sweet story.
OMG that is the sweetest comment 🥺
**YOU GOT THAT RIGHT, MY FRIEND!!
AH! IM CRYING
That hit me like a train and broke my heart to see the sadness in that dogs face but not every situation has a happy ending.
💙
Absolutely. It was heartbreaking to see that but I'm glad the Rescuers stayed positive and will no doubt have gone on to save more animals. I'm so happy Charlie was comforted by his Kip toy. What amazing people they are and what an incredible dog. God bless you all
I agree with everything you all said. Absolutely heartbreaking, but you are right.. Not all stories have a good ending. Especially in the animal rescue world, but I love my job working with dogs❤
I'm a 30 year old man and I cried. Life is fleeting for us all.
Also, Charlie deserves another living companion
Doesn't matter what age ANYONE is. Anybody and Anyone can cry for whatever reason. Remember that.
It's okay to cry honey doesn't matter what sex we are It shows that you have compassion bless you
Yes another companion..there was also another dog in one of the clips
You're a 30 year old dude and CRIED?!? Must be gay.
What a handsome dog, Charlie is.
Hearing him cry broke my heart in two.
I feel the same.
At least Kip had one friend in the entire world, if only for a little while
I could only hang on another few seconds after that. Poor Charlie. It’s hard to make a dog understand it’s not their fault.
Me too
@@2babobcat761 Exactly. While some will always oppose to people intervening in nature’s own issues, I can’t see what bad it can do to provide love and a safe haven to someone with a limited amount of time. I am sure Kip realized he was being loved until the very end despite his misfortune in having been kicked out from his nest. That always matters.
Kip is officially an Angel! What a bittersweet story. I am literally sad for Charlie. I have tears in my eyes. Thank you for loving Kip and Charlie! ♥️🐶🐿❤️
Hey
Sweet comment! 😊
Mother Nature has her ways??
Beautiful way of putting it. I could only imagine if the world thought the way you do how much better we would be. Thank you for being a beautiful soul and we need more of ❤
@@stevenhuckabay7997 Thank you!
Kip is one of the cutest babies I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe I’m crying over a tiny chipmunk I never met. Charlie is an angel.
Kip’s smolness was too much for ne 😭❤️
Yes. .
Dogs are such an incredible blessing.
All animals are
But it's different with dogs since we have such a close relationship with them and because of how much love they give back to people. Not to mention all of the service dogs that allow people to do so many things they wouldn't be able to do without the aid of a dog.
Dogs have truly earned the label, Man's Best Friend.
All animals are , they are so beautiful precious and unconditionally loyal ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a beautiful story, not all stories have happy endings. Kip was given a second chance at life & Charlie made a friend, and although it didn't last Charlie's great owner was able to help him cope. ❤
😢
Yeah, but I'm a big fan of happy endings!
Spoiler alert. Damn man.
@@kathrynhoward4196 How much did you think the Dodo paid them for the story? It's all about views, ads, and money $$$.
I was going to leave a comment but then I read yours and realized there was no way I could find better words than yours. This was an unusual video for dodo, they always end on happy and hopeful notes, but as you said, not all stories have happy endings. Like the song saids, it's ok to just be ok.
You gave Kip more life than he would've likely had. You kept him fed, safe, and Charlie gave him companionship. His life was sadly short, but it was not unhappy.
Rightly said ❤️❤️
You're right
Amen!
More than most of us get. True happiness is hard to find and Kip found it.
Yes ❤️🙏🏾
I'm not ashamed to admit I cried. Then I read the comments, and I cried again. To all of the kind people who took Kip's passing with sadness, all I can say is God Bless you; you're good people in an often bad world. ♥️
God bless you, too. It's so consoling to see how many people have been affected by this; and particularly by so many guys man enough to admit they cried.
Bless you too!!❤❤
It never ceases to amaze me how a giant creature like Charlie does not just devour that little morsel of a chipmunk but instead ends up with a broken heart. Life is a miracle. Love is a mystery. 💖
The mysteries of faith , we are love in this world I think animals are just so much more intense with nature than we are .....not sure what our species purpose is in this world that's why I go to church and praise God
Dogs who have had a calm and loving family generally are not aggressive towards smaller creatures. My friend had a pet mouse and a gold retriever, no issues. The mouse would ride on the dog at times.
Sadly not always the case. My family is calm and while my dog is now (Due to being 13) She wasn't always. When she was not calm we had degus, and my dog would sit by the cage, hoping that she could eat them. Whenever we took them out to clean the cage or just pay, my dog was there ready to snack on them if she could.
Each of the degus passed (We had 4) Penny, Oreo, Twipper and Maria. Penny was the only male, and died early on. (was the most hyper and hated being held, ended up being so calm that it wanted to be held.)
Oreo was very calm, and lost a foot from the real (Sinning wheel broke her foot and she started eating the dead flesh, eventually it was just a skeletal foot sticking out, And she eventually broke that off. We had gotten twipper to keep her company. Oreo passed around the age of 5.
Twipper was about 3 when we got Maria. (Who was my sister's professor's degu and about the same age as twipper) He figured i was best to let them have companionship. They both eventually passed. Around the same time.
Because it's not a pitbull
Seeing Charlie grieve for Kip broke my heart, but his reaction to the toy was so sweet too. He just wanted to take care of his friend and having something to remind him of Kip must have helped him. It's so sad that Kip passed on too, but I'm glad that you were able to provide him some love and care during his brief time.
Spoiler alert!

My God that's such a sweet story.. God bless Charlie's Lil heart.. he loved kip so much.. my dad's name is Charlie.. he passed away 2yrs ago..
what a beautiful story about Kip and Charlie. In the past, I have owned ferrets while also owning dogs. It is amazing how curious, compassionate and playful the dogs were with the ferrets. They would play together and sleep together. Our "pets" are way more intelligent than they are given credit for.
"Our pets are way more intelligent"... meanwhile the dogs running around with a stuffed animal it thinks is Kip 😂
I’m a 63 year old man and I got tears running down my face.
So sad
We all do bruh - poor lil guy
That's because real men feel and express emotions 😘
Isn’t it amazing how a baby chipmunk we would never know about could have such an impact on us? Love these kind of stories even when they do turn out sad because of the other animals and the people involved.
we all did....
There's no question Charlie needs another living friend...this was sad for alot of reasons..God bless them both
Same I'm thinking maybe a cat! 😭
Love the profile pic bro
you can see in one video that there’s another dog!
I think so too! Charlie ( I think he is the breed Newfoundland ) needs a furbaby friend, and would make a very good foster dad, for orphaned baby animals that needed comfort, a warm body to nuzzle into, like this little chipmunk did, just like a real momma animal would do. I've seen many rescue groups have a nurturing dog care for the smaller orphans , until they got a little bigger and stronger, then gently play with them even outside until they are able to make it in the rescue on their own. These are very touching to watch too, except the endings are happy. Charlie could possibly be tested to be a foster dad doggie! His deep feelings over his orphan friend's passing touched me deeply too!😥😊😊🐶🐿️💜💜💜💙💙💙🙏🙏🌺🌺🌺
In the time he had, Kip lived a full and happy life, cared for, safe and with his family.
His alternate fate was to be eaten by the snakes you saw, and that's a horrific end for a baby animal.
The cuddly toy seems to have helped kind, gentle Charlie to get over the loss of his friend.
Charlie's tenderness and warmth is so beautiful. He gave Kip a lifetime's worth of love and companionship.
Wasn't expecting the ending, I'm in tears. R.I.P sweet little Kip and bless Charlie's beautiful, loving soul
I'd just put my eyedrops in and started watching. I hope they did what they're supposed to do before my eyes welled up. It was all I could do to stop any further tear works.
So heartbroken at his sudden passing and the void his absence created for Charlie.
@@CarbonTech19 I really don't believe in any afterlife but if there is even a little chance of it then I hope Charlie & Kip gets reunited there, such a powerful bond.

I agree. I am constantly amazed and disappointed when people treat animals like "animals." Animals are very smart and have empathy. This is from Popular Mechanics not long ago:
"Research shows that crows and other corvids (a family of birds that includes ravens and magpies) “know what they know and can ponder the content of their own minds,” according to a 2020 study in STAT. This is considered a cornerstone of self-awareness and shared by just a handful of animal species besides humans."

@@_MjG_ no animals are way better at loving each other than humans! We may say it but don't always feel it. We can see a homeless person and judge instead of helping them and love them! That legit made me cry. You were awesome people for giving Kip the a good life as short as it was
Man, this made me cry. Losing a pet is as devastating as losing a person.
It's like losing your own family members,
When my dog passed away,
You should have seen my parents how much more they were crying,
I was very sad,
But my parents?
I never ever seen them losing their minds like that.
My father never liked animals,
When we found my dog, I was 6, he was a puppy, not even a year old.
He was the reason my father staryed to love animals,
He was literally family.
That's life...
Tis is why I don't have pets. I would be devastated
