  • The Schwa sound is used more than any other sound in the English Language, it will help you to speak faster and more naturally as well as allowing others to understand you easier when you speak English. Its like magic 😄.
This video is essential for you to talk like a native English person.
What if there was a sound that could make English words easier to pronounce. What if that sound made your sentences flow smoother. What if it allowed you to speak faster. Well there is, it's called the schwa sound and it's used by native English speakers all over the world it doesn't matter if they're Australian if they're British if they're American if they're a native English speaker they're using the schwa sound. Just like I am now in almost every sentence and by the end of this video you will be too and your English will sound better. Hi I'm Steve let's do this To make the schwa sound is really easy open your mouth slightly just wide enough so that you could fit a finger in make sure you keep your tongue relaxed and flat in the bottom of your mouth next I want you to make this sound [Music] no I'm only joking that's not the schwa sound what I want you to do is remember when you were younger and your mum would shout at you go and tidy your room and you'd go uh that's the schwa sound let's try it again this really is a great sound to learn because it will make you speak faster smoother better English now we know how to make the sound let's see how we can use it one of the main uses for the schwa sound is to replace vowel sounds in Weak words so let's look at what we mean by that first vowel sounds in the English alphabet there are five letters called vowels these are a e i o and u say them for me A E I O and U because this lesson is about pronunciation we're not going to talk about vowels we're going to talk about the sounds that those vowels make let's look at them one at a time first a

Thanks for your useful comment, you are right. I didn’t realise at the time but my microphone was defective and I now have a new one so the sound is much clearer. Steve
