I’m 33 and I’ve lived in huntersville since I was 2 and the town of huntersville could not be anymore of the opposite of underrated hahaha anyone who lives in Mecklenburg county and knows the area really well know that huntersville is a great place to live. Now don’t get me wrong when I was really young huntersville was legit some deliverance level rural town but since then it’s boomed into the most suburban type town I’ve seen in my entire life and I’ve been all over the country. I meen there is a shopping center where all the stores have apartments over them and a movies theatre and there is a huge Apple Store there. Have you ever seen an Apple store in a neighborhood before? They are usually in the city or at a mall but huntersville is super nice. Now in recent history certain crimes have gone up like car break ins, theft stuff like that but my entire life living here from the age of 3 to 33 so 30 years of living here specifically in the town of huntersville there has been less then 10 murders…. That’s insane but now a negative thing about huntersville is because the population has been rapidly booming for decades the town has struggle to keep up with the road to people ratio so certain times of the day traffic can be pretty absurd. It can feel like metropolitan city traffic in a suburb. Another awesome thing is the greenway trail system through huntersville is absolutely amazing then the town directly above huntersville is Cornelius that includes a huge lake (lake normal) but yea anyways I’m just ranting at this point but like I said anyone who knows charlotte decently good knows huntersville is a great place to live I feel extremely fortunate to have grown up here. One last thing though because it’s grown so much and there is a huge nice hospital multiples of every type of doctors and medical specialist offices a shit ton of schools recant has been steadily going up for a long time to put it in to perspective my first apartment when I was 18 was a 2 bedroom with vaulted ceilings in the living room like it’s wasent fancy by any men’s but it was nice was only $700 a month and that exact same apartment which they haven’t been updated at all are $2,000 a month now so yea it’s become pretty absurd financially to live here
Great description. I will say most who are moving to our area seem to only mention south charlotte, so I end up helping them discover Huntersville. It's my fav town outside Charlotte. Great location, amazing amenities and easy access to Charlotte, and way more affordable than Balantyne :)

Are there any wineries in Charlotte?
There are a few actually on the outskirts of Charlotte. While the south east isn't known for it's wines due to the nature of the grapes we grow here (muscadine), there are many wineries that use grapes shipped in from California to create dryer less sweet wines.

Are there any retirees there or is it all young families? Thank you in advance
Actually whole the area is an average age around 34, its becoming more and more retirement aged as the options for new construction and ranch homes are opening up in the area. It's not a town where there is a TON going on which would cause traffic and noise pollution. There are locations along I77 that offer great shopping etc, but apart from that it is residential in beautiful tree lined neighborhoods. Its my favorite town in Charlotte
