Pirlo is my favorite player of all time, but as a CDM myself, what astounds me most here is the quality of the finishing. So many difficult one-touch finishes from the air…outstanding passes, sure, but so many of these guys make it look easy.
I love Xavi Hernandez, he can control midfield with 500 pass per game, but 90% of that pass is low risk pass. Compare to this man, Pirlo make much high risk pass, short and long pass. He can make you face to face with your opponent goal keeper with his pass. This man is amazing 👍

It's not just the pass itself (which, of course, is unreal in its vision and quality). It's the grace of his movement. His body movement is just so elegant when he pings the ball. That little drop of the right shoulder followed by the coolest, most composed kick of the ball is just beautiful. There's an arrogance there that comes with knowing that you can drop the ball on a penny.
Nah man, they were all very different players with different styles. Xavi was the short pass master, insane vision (long balls too, but Barca's style of play didn't encourage too many searching balls). He was the metronome. Iniesta was arguably one the best box to box midfielders of his time. He was all rounded, a shot in the foot for him because it's hard to pick out his best traits, He was simply good at a number of things. Vision, passing, shooting, dribbling. Pirlo was pure class, unrivaled distribution, long ball and vision. Played like a quarterback and tidy in possession, great ball control. Oozed class. I personally was a huge fan of Iniesta, ability wise, I think he was underappreciated (being in a star-studded Barca with Messi and Xavi taking the shine a lot, even in ballon d'or rankings). But there's so much that they all brought to the table that it would be a crime to heap them all together and pick one.
Just enjoy the football. Stop compared each others. Stop telling whos better than whos. Everyone have their own unique style that make them world class

If it was pirlo playing there they would have said the complete opposite. But watching games invidually i think pirlo is better. Xavi and Iniesta played with a much better and organized system

Pirlo on the other hand can make long passes even while his own team is on active offence (not just in a space exposing counter attack situation), and in most scenarios, his receiving teammates don't need to run more than 1/2 the distance of a penalty box to pick up the pass before shooting or second passing. Pirlo is a genuinely high quality, vision based pin point passer, and he himself is the highest definition of a passing maestro.
