San Francisco before it became too expensive to live there. My first one bedroom, very nice and spacious, was only 500 a month...1988-1991; moved to an newly built high rise after the 1989 earthquake and only paid an extra 135 dollars per month. It was very nice too, with a pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, gym. This movie reminds me of that time. Oh...yes, I did enjoy the movie! Thank you for sharing ❤😊.

1980: I rented a 1BD apartment in Los Angeles (average location), I paid $330.00 a month.

Mood of most of jobs... "ambiance" at work... Totally changes.
Same as for "personal targets" carreer etc or "private life".
We all are in expectancy of full sucessfull life... In all criterias.
Not easy to achieve all challenges.
If yu "sacrified" one part (carreer... Family... Intimate life...hobbies... ) then comes frustration.. Often.
"faire la quadrature du cercle" (= succeeding to set / maintain a circle in a squarre) as we say in french is a daily burden. We're forced to "faire le grand ecart" ( =strech our legs too harshly)... In order to "tenir l equilibre" ( =hold our balance in life).
That s why relations in couple becoame so short becose our our selfish permanent demands... And that s why divorces became so "banal" / fluent.

Uh... Not always... Keep expectancy fermly and secretly alive inside yur heart. Sometimes... What some calls "a miracle" can occur... I call it (in french) "telescopage improbable d'astres venus du fond de l univers" could translate as "unlikely curse and crash of 2 asteroïds rushing out of deep dark bottom of universe".
Pls... Look at a wonderful movie of Syd, Pollack with R Redford (kind of mentor for me) and Lena, Olin "Habana". Be specially focused on the very last scene when Redford is on sunny beach of Florida looking the sea.... He says SOooo wonderful things (voice in off with saxo music...) about life... Datings... Love affairs... And... Accidents in a perfect curse... Failures in fate / destiny. Pain... And enduring sufferings.
Rest of the movie isabsolutely extra ordinary... Landscapes... Cuban Music... American Cuban mood under Batista in havana... Scenario... A perfection!

THE FILM IS GREAT, ALTHOUGH IT DOESN'T HAVE SOME ATTRACTIONS IN A TECHNOLOGICAL SENSE, AND EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND A COUPLE OF ACTORS, STILL IT IS UNCERTAIN UNTIL THE END IF THE MAIN ACTRESS WILL GET OUT ALIVE.MY RECOMMENDATION IS THAT YOU MUST WATCH IT. All the trouble problems and discomfort came about just because she couldn't find time for her husband in the first place. When she found out that he was a client for prostitutes she made herself the victim forgetting the reason for his infidelity 😢
