@@debbiehenri345 Heh when I was around 11 I was in a taxi when our vehicle struck another car that had hit a lampost overturned and spun back into the road. The latter car was driven by a single woman and the paper decided to report it as a mother and child this being despite the fact that unlike the woman I had zero physical injuries. Sure I was with the paramedics also at the time the reporters walked past as they were checking me over for signs of delayed shock and being bothered constantly with me asking questions about various bits of equipment lol. Clearly, that is just the angle they wanted to go with though as I was clearly animated and conversational and a single question would have clarified who was in which vehicle. Could have asked the taxi driver also as they were similarly uninjured and in a fit condition to be interviewed by police at the scene. But no the facts might have contradicted a good narrative so guess it was easier just to not bother to enquire.

I mean he is the PotUS, but Trump has cut funding to the establishment, keeping money in the pockets of the people. Whether you agree with Trumps policies or not, he is one politician that accomplished all of things he said he was going to do before getting elected. On the other hand, playing marxist politics to separate Americans has been working well for the dnc and msm, just look at this comment section. Virtue signalling about people calling the corona virus the "Wuflu" or "Chinese virus," when every disease or virus in the past has been named by the origin of outbreak. They chose this narrative while millions of people are out of their jobs; they're communists sympathizers spreading a narrative that makes headlines about not being racist with a fucking name of a virus??... The ones sending this narrative down the pipe of msm don't share the same concerns of the American people, because they are elected government officials, they can do the worst job in the world and they are still rewarded with a petition and health benefits for the rest of their life. All paid by us, the people that have to listen to this bullshit while working our asses off.

The whole point in questions at a press conference is to challenge what's being said (which is generally a politician's exercise in manipulating us themselves) and stoke emotion to sell papers/clicks.
The job of a well-media-trained/intelligent spokesperson it to counter those questions with measured, calculated responses to combat that manipulation.
Trump doesn't have any of those qualities, so he just threw tantrums and complained that he was being bullied. It would have been hilarious if he didn't have the nuclear football in reach...

    Say it with me folks,
    *"Correlation does NOT equal causation."*
Just because two things (scenes) are shown to occur together is not a good enough reason to say that they had anything to do with each other. Do not get caught by that common pitfall!
Edit (In response to comments below): Most of you have a point in the sense that correlation should sometimes be used as the first step in finding cause and effect; the main point of this comment was to say that it's not the only step. Statistics in correlation are important, but thorough testing of repeatable results for a hypothesis that best matches what we observe is important as well. In other words, it's one matter to see two things behave in a predictable way with respect to each other, but it's another to find the medium through which they interact.
Say, like how Ben kindly pointed out that cancer in Japan was the result of radiation that had been detected emanating from the Fukushima nuclear reactor plant. Without knowing the concept of radiation and what it does to humans, there would be no way for anybody to say that the Fukushima incident is to blame for cancer in Japan. Sadly, this was the case for a lot of harmful things in the past that we now understand in modern times, so it's best to appreciate all that we've come to learn in the time that we've been around.

    • @CattleCluj
      @CattleCluj Před 5 lety +2

It doesn't mean causation, but sometimes there is a relationship between two or more scenarios that seem to correlate. It is always good to maintain a healthy dose of skepticism but let's not just hastily throw out the possibility of a relationship between such correlations. Anyway, one of my favorite of such 'correlations' is a graph showing shark attacks increasing with the increase of ice creams being sold. I guess the sharks like the sweetened blood from that ice cream ;)

    • @Sanctifiers

It's kinda funny because this video was filled with anti-left wing bias. Its a video telling you how to spot fake news when the video itself is fake news.
The biggest examples of fake news comes from the right wing media with their scare tactics on subjects like immigration, regulations, etc.
Yet thoughty2 only addressed fake news coming from the left wing media. Lets not forget that the largest media group in the USA is FOX, a right wing biased MSM channel, and the reason why it exists in the first place was push propaganda from the GOP (this is actually a fact, if you don't believe it you can't deny that Fox News spreads pro-republican propaganda).
I also get a UKIP sympathy vibe from this video. UKIP is a radical right wing political party with isolationist policy. And if you support UKIP, you're literally a radical as a result. I wouldn't call UKIP conservative because they would literally destroy the UK. So of course they should be considered some form of alt-right. thoughty2 said that people like PJW were not alt-right when before the "alt-right" term started getting associated with nazism (because the nazis btw also hated immigration, and non-white people) PJW and Sargon DID align themselves with the alt-right. Now they say they're not alt-right, but considering they still support UKIP and pretty much have political opinions that align with the alt-right....I would say they're alt-right. It's like saying that you support donald trump and saying you're not a right winger.

Who are these 'Some people' and exactly how did you measure the level of convincing that was done so you could conclude 'almost' . Also, which Californian authority are you referring to and why is it important that they were 'almost convinced'. Were any other authorities 'almost convinced'? Some in red states maybe?
You're unintentional narrative is that California is way left wing b/c it jumps on bandwagons to ban random chemicals because they are hard to pronounce. Hmm...maybe that's not what you're saying. It's how that might read to conservatives. btw - I'm not conservative.
I will warn you though... if you start pointing out stuff to people around you like I just did to you...they may start thinking you're and @$$H@!&. Well...maybe you'll be able to pull it off without pissing off your friends but I sure can't. There you have it. The human condition.

I'd lay odds that if you took a census of the 'city officials' in question only that paralegal would admit to any such concern about DHMO.
So 'Some people' referred to by Jahin is actually just joke webpages put up that this paralegal read. No active push by any actual people to convince any authority at all. And 'California authority' seems to be a single idiot that didn't double check something. And 'Almost convince' means a silly mistake didn't get past a second check (the item was pulled from the agenda).
As to Conservative v Liberal, it's a well known Conservative trope that Liberals get scared easily by 'chemicals'. OK maybe that's just my experience with conservative tropes. I'm sure just as many conservatives can be taken in by the DHMO joke if it's presented to them properly.

Paying attention is what creates them in the first place.
Outright fully ignoring them is the way to go.
But yea, the flipside is also present, if we collectively ignore them, they will make more bullshit statements in the headlines....

@@1llum1nate They don't know what they're saying. But I'll assume what they meant to say was: People inherently know right from wrong. Truth from lies. The trick is to convince them to make truth secondary to hate.

I never knew why so many people hated Jordan Peterson, because every interview I saw of him, what he said made complete sense and I never heard him say anything that was hateful or unfair to anyone or any group. But now ik why, very sad he says some insightful things!!

Added facts: Camera angle and elevation is also used but not so much anymore because the reporters today is not educated in these manipulative techniques.
But a person or persons who are walking or looking toward the right is often perceived as calm, reliable and friendly - they are on their way "home". While anyone who is looking or walking toward the left is perceived as critical, ad odds with things, suspicious and unfriendly.
Also, by filming from a lower point can you make a person "tower" up, it makes the viewer think of that person as "feeling better and more valuable than the other, the person is looking down upon the viewer. An angle where the person is looking up is perceived as the small, innocent and often weak person, because the viewer is looking down upon that person.
On top of these two simply angles are there many more ways to manipulate the camera placement and thereby the viewer's perception of the interviewee.
