This was always my favorite movie and still is today. We had such awesome movies back in the 80s. Pippi longstocking, never ending story, Legend, just to name a few. ❤
Those are all my favorite too! The best! If you have not watched these and you’re an adult you have been neglected. lol
I remember seeing the pipip long stocking in Germany in the 70's then again in 88 in America
My mom would drop me off at the local library, and I would watch Pippi Longstocking with other children, while she went shopping. Great memories! I have to watch the movie again. I love how much the scenery is still the same. Thank you for your thoroughness to detail matching up shots.
Glad I’m not the only one who still gets nostalgic to this movie… 90s kid forever!
Literally grew up on this movie. Will always love me some adventures of Pippi Longstocking;)
In 2010 I had watched it now it's my favorite movie and no other movies will ever ever! Take it!!! And I have been dressing up like her ever since! I love it.
I remember the original Pippi, love this house what a beauty. Pippi was a great story and loved her action adventures
Beautiful filming locations!!🌊🧜♀️💙
I’m a barber in a small fishing village in Washington state. I know the grandson on the lady who came up with Pippi. He just told me the story about a week ago. ♥️
Awesome video and nice work! I just watched this with my daughter and now all she can talk about is Pippi Longstocking. I love it!
I absolutely love that you guys did a video dedicated to this film - I've watched many of your horror-related uploads, but to find the movie I was so incredibly and annoyingly obsessed with when I was a child was such a great surprise! Well done!
Not sure how I found this video but I just turned 40 and I’m watching the movie with my 10 year old son. This movie will forever be a classic to my family!!!❤️
I never knew that there was an American version of pippi. Thanks for sharing. Learned something new today 😁
Hi Michael you are so awesome 😎 in the video 📸 you & Jessica GRIMM share with all of us
Enchanting!!💙💙💙
I always thought these film adventures were the sole property of Sweden. Interesting to know that a story of Swedish origin was shot here in the states. As usual fantastic work and very captivating.
Pippi's creator Astrid Lindgren would have definitely preferred her creation remain the sole property of Sweden. Much like P.L. Travers (the creator of "Mary Poppins" who was an absolute nightmare for Walt Disney; see 'Saving Mr. Banks"), she refused to sign off on any foreign film adaptations for years and when she finally did, she hated "The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking." It's pretty sad - I believe only children can truly critique children's films and though it wasn't by any stretch of the imagination a commercial success, this movie is forever beloved by so many. I understand how authors can be protective of their creations, but it's just sad that Ms. Lindgren couldn't see this movie through the eyes of a child.
Actually, to correct it, not only did Lindgren hate it, but even critics and audiences despised this. It currently holds 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, has a 5.9 on IMDB and it is also the ONLY film based on an Astrid Lindgren story to be nominated for a Razzie Award. Two to be exact. Worst New Actor for Tami Erin's performance as Pippi and Worst Supporting Actress for Eileen Brennan's performance as Miss Bannister. The latter is pretty sad given she got an Oscar nomination 8 years prior.
Critics and audiences may have “despised it” but as a young child I LOVED IT. Great memories.
I love this movie since i was a kid and growing i still love to watched i am trying to find it on dvd♥
I remember watching Pippi Longstocking when I was a kid
Another great episode . Hope it stays up this time.
Fingers and bones crossed. Thank you for watching
Thank you so much for this. Absolute time warp back to my childhood. So much love from Australia :)
Such a pretty little town, seems like a good place to have a holiday home. I loved this movie as a kid so thank you for showing us ❤
I am 34 and we owned this film on vhs. Such a fun movie.
I watched Pippi so often as a kid my mom eventually banned me from watching it. Not only was she annoyed with the theme song, but I was also replicating the scenes 😆. One day the cops had to go looking for me because I was in a fictitious barrel down the stream! I was around 6 at the time. Running away and having a great adventure became a daydream for years.
Has to be my favourite film as a kid and still love it to this day. Pippi longstockings is coming into your town. Absolutely love it
I loved this movie as a kid and then when I showed my son he became obsessed with it also.. 😍😍
That was the greatest. I found yaw because of Halloween/Horrod and spooky shit and that's rad & all but didn't imagine yaw were so cool as to visit the home/town of my childhood hero!! 😄🤘
This movie was my childhood xx

The two houses on the road by the orphanage were razed not long after you visited to expand the church parking lot. You saw them just in time.
That stinks. Thank you for the heads up
Wow this was so beautifully done. Thank you!
Great location for Pippi 💃🐝
Another awesome video for an epic stroll down theaters memory lane, thanks guys!

Mkay was looking for Ennis House but stopped cold in my tracks for this. My absolute favorite movie!! My hero!! I even named my first dog Pippi !!! Villa Villekulla 😲
Oldest bar in Florida is the tavern saloon at 11 mins 27 seconds.
OMG thank you SO MUCH for doing this location!!! I've been watching you guys for awhile now - This was my most FAVORITE movie in the world when I was 5 or 6 years old in the mid to late 80s - I was even Pippi for Halloween, my mom sprayed my hair bright red, and put the wiring in my braids to make them stand up, and she sewed my costume from scratch :-) You know, I was just thinking - even in my 36 year old brain, I never even thought of the fact that this magickal little town was REAL or even considered where they filmed this ( I mean obviously it's real, it had to have been filmed SOMEWHERE!) - but as a 5/6 year old at that time - it just seemed like a magickal thought up place, and it just stayed that way in my mind, all the way up until I just came across this on your channel. I loved seeing this so much, and it just brought back all of my wonderful childhood memories of this movie and the magick it made me feel. This little island seems like such a charming and enchanting place to visit, and I hope to visit one day :-)
Deja Vu but nice seeing it again
I was in this movie it was still in the summer of 87 I was in seventh grade and I was an orphan in the ice cream fight( which were actually colored mashed potatoes and we had to wear the same uniforms every day and they began to reek she . I was also in the scenes of the class rooms and fire scenes. All these locations are all within a couple of mile radius of each other .I'm a local in the town and it is very historic but the girl that played pippi was a b**** from hell. This was her first and final film and she ended up being a pornstar you can look her up her name is Tami Erin I guess karma got her a bad hand also fun fact the winter scene where she gets a puppy the snow was poisonous that they used and urged us not to touch it
Thank you for sharing this story 🎃
Omg I searched it up that is true
She’s also high-end conservative, among other…iffy things.
Great video thanks for putting it up again.
Very cool
I Love this movie I was a kid
It’s a classic...I think my sister and I really wore the tape out
Again, you show, you guy's are awesome.
@14:54 You missed an opportunity! "I wish we had something like this at ARRRRR house".
Around ten years later, a animated movie/TV-series of Pippi was released, which was a Canadian-German-Swedish co-production. The owners behind Pippi and the rest of the Astrid Lindgren's characters rejected Studio Ghibli offer to animate it. Instead they went for a Canadian animation studio. Studio Ghibli did much later got a second chance and got to do the animation for Ronja Robbersdaughter. This year Pippi Longstocking celebrates it's 75th anniversary. One of the things they did to celebrate it, was the release of the Pippi Longstocking popsicle. A new international production of Pippi are currently in the plans, as a theatrical movie.
I’m a fan of this movie.
Damn this is fucking amazing! Omg. Thanks for this.
I am looking forward to Future 📸 videos of the upcoming Halloween 🎃 convention in Saint Louis Missouri it looks really spooky 🎃😎
My grandpa was the ice cream man
I've see it all now. A grown man getting all sentimental about a children's movie from the 1980s. Well, that sums it up for myself, what about the rest of you :p
Darn right. You were a kid once too right? Well…I hope you were. Aliens do exist lol.
@@grimmlifecollective I still ove that song.. I even play it in the car...lol
