Trekking The Victoria lines Malta

Today I will cover the Victoria Lines, which are a continuous infantry wall which connects together three forts (at Bingemma, Mosta and Madliena), an entrenchment at Dwejra and a number of other gun batteries and ancillary military facilities to form a single line of defence. This is some twelve kilometers long and it follows the contour of the Great Fault, a geological feature which cuts across Malta from coast to coast; specifically from Fomm ir-Rih in the west to Madliena in the east. Forming part of the same defensive system are also an additional fort (at Pembroke) and extensive military barracks (at Mtarfa and Pembroke).
To make this video I had to cover around 21km of trekking.

Those berries are Rosehips I think Pierre. You can make Rosehip Syrup from them. Good for coughs etc. We get a lot of them here in Scotland too. Great video.

If I'm not mistaken, that plant with small red fruit is indigenous and called "Mediterranean Smilax" (Zalza Pajzana🇲🇹 ). Well, what can I say Pierre, you've excelled again and gave us a treat.

I walk alot too, but mostly the north area. Unfortunately my anxiety doesn't let me venture far from home for now. I love your videos and I hope one day I'll do the treks too.

Thank you Pierre. I hope that the trail will be restored and properly sign posted. The advantages of having such walks for the public are multiple, ranges from education, health, history and national awareness. At times I think we're speaking to walls when we use this language. I hope someone comes up with something tangible on both Victoria Lines and Fort Ricasoli at least.
