    Or in my case (a former sugar addict), it can cause leaky gut which awakens an autoimmune response triggering my spleen to destroy my platelets causing me to nearly bleed out from a simple nosebleed resulting in two weeks in the hospital under close supervision with intense and expensive infusions and immunotherapy…yeah, I don’t go near sugar anymore, not for a mile. It’s a hard adjustment at first especially in America where sweets are everywhere and in everything, but then it loosens it grip on you and you can make it through the day without craving treats. Then finally you stop wanting it altogether. The coolest part is when your tastebuds reset themselves and you can taste the natural sweetness in some vegetables that you always considered bitter. And then your skin gets brighter and your mind is clearer and your mood is elevated and your body is energized…Anyway, yeah, sugar bad

    And once you stop eating so much sugar you get sick. I started developing health issues and had to quit sugar, cold turkey. I got sick for a couple weeks. But I am dropping weight really fast. I get a normal amount of exercise and I haven’t changed my activity since I started my diet. I was 270 a little over 2 months ago and I’m 232 now. My 1 year goal was to lose 75 pounds. Looks like I’m going to beat it 😂

      Candida die-off is likely the sickness you experienced after cutting sugar from your diet cold turkey. A slow change would be better to avoid that :)

    • @sandpiperr
      @sandpiperr Před rokem +4

      @@ailynevensen No, it works for us too. I'm a woman with PCOS, which means I gain weight incredibly easily and have more trouble than an average woman losing it.
      Cutting sugar is the only way I've ever managed to lose weight.
      HOWEVER...cutting sugar means more than just switching to diet soda and not eating candy all day.
      It also means cutting out the hidden sugars and those in "healthy" sources...like granola, smoothies (which are just mlikshakes by another name!), instant oatmeal, yogurt, breakfast cerals (yes, even the boring high fiber ones), store or restaurant bought sauces and condiments, sports drinks, trail mix even if it says "omega-3 mix" on it, any kind of nut milk unless it's specifically unsweetened, all oat milk, all fruit juices, and some brands of bread and peanutbutter.
      Also, controlling portions on high carbohydrate foods that aren't sweet like potatoes, pasta, bread, rice (I have a blood glucose monitor and rice spikes my blood sugar worse than actual candy!), and portion sizes on some fruits.
      Fruit isn't called "nature's candy" for no reason, and just because you eat dried cranberries on a salad, or chocolate in the form of a Luna bar, doesn't magically lower the amount of sugar in them.
      Men do lose weight more easily than us. That's just a fact, but there's some science to suggest that cutting out sugar is probably actually more effective for weightloss for us. We just have to be serious about it. We can't switch to snacking on pretzels instead of peanutbutter cups, and call that "cutting out sugar" the way that a young 20 something dude might be able to get away with.
