cc92tlc I call Tboz the backbone of TLC. Her voice and swag is the reason they stood out from everyone else and she was the best performer of the group in my opinion.

Emphasis on big live vocals were drastically reduced after the first album. As the group progressed there were fewer really strong vocals on each album.
They crossed over and did more songs that ain’t require much vocal usage
They definitely got lazy after the first album. I say that as a HUGE TLC fan!

I loved their music but I must say that I never felt like Chili or T-Boz were very strong vocalist. But I did love thier songs
No they weren't lol, but they never considered themselves "sangers." They were great entertainers, with great music and an innovative style and vision, which separates them from all the other girl groups who followed a standard.
How do get all of these classic videos? All of these singers should really be thanking you. Great job.

Deshon Riggins yes I have, and yes she utilizes other parts of her register but 90% of the time she's in her lower register. It's just where she's comfortable placing her voice.
No. It's just a low alto range.
JUst to let everyone know. TLC's vocals were about a 4-of 10. Debra Killings was the real voice of TLC.

Chili has a great tone...but she couldn't sing at all during the first 2 eras.

You’re being overly critical. Remember, they were a dance-heavy trio in post-Milli Vanilli r&b/hip hop with no professional training. On the albums they sounded great, but live they were winded. Name anybody who danced that hard without lip syncing.
