@@Eureca Can you pause the youtube premier streams? I thought they were handled differently than normal streams and you can't pause to buffer. If you stop/start it, it just skips to the current point and you miss a chunk. He did refresh it a couple times and it still buffered.

same!!!!! when I first played Gold/Heart Gold I chose Cyndaquil! Oshawott for my first ever play through of Pokemon Black and Rowlet for Sun!! I honestly dont know who to chose for Legends Arceus. Probably Oshawott since I can see him being the least popular among the three tbh
They honestly did Cyndaquil and Oshawatt dirty by having Rowlets line being fully dual-typing. It should’ve been Treeko to make it more fair.

This was a 10/10 presentation for me. They nailed everything that Nintendo didn’t with last week’s direct:
-Showmanship (awesome nostalgic intro)
-Info (Pokémon New Snap looks great)
-Something expected but exciting (Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl)
-Something unexpected & hype (Pokémon Legends HYYYYPE)
We are getting Sinnoh in 2D AND 3D with legends. Omg yes!! Take my money gamefreak!
@mark l disagree, and I’m not as down on the direct as most are. It had little showmanship, was lacking any decent info on the anticipated games we know are being developed (Metroid, Zelda), and in the scope of Nintendo IPs, didn’t have any exciting hype stuff nearly on the same scale as Pokémon Legends. I’m not a Splatoon fan but I would say we knew 3 was coming eventually, not like Legends which was nothing but a dream.
As a fan who has played every gen of Pokémon, I'm glad GameFreak are finally taking a step towards a 'proper' open world RPG.
However, as much as I want to be extremely hyped, the trailer showed a barren world with lackluster graphics. Just remember CyberPunk hype and where it landed. Taking into account GameFreak's history, I would hold off reacting like Tim and Blessing until further showings.
Can we talk about how handsome the Chief Operating Officer of the Pokemon Co. is? How is he this sharp in a pandemic!?!?

They're so fucking terrible. Kinda Funny is always the last reacts I watch after Giant Bomb, Easy Allies, MinnMax, Maximillian Dood, etc. And I think that's mainly because when all the thumbnails pop up, Kinda Funny's are so off-putting.

Lots of potential with arceus, that being said even though this is a year or more out it looks so rough. I wouldn't be shocked if it got pushed later into 2022.

@Ryan H it said that the game isn’t finished. I’m sure this game play was captured awhile ago too. And the game is probably a year out. Game freak gives us quality. Also considering this game looks very different to anything game freak has given us. So I’m very optimistic. Not complacent.

What's up with the huge increase in ads on Kinda Funny content lately?
I think it’s a CZcams thing. I’m seeing a lot more ads on a bunch of long videos lately.
youtube changed how they do ads on monetized videos so they have to manually remove them after each upload and it takes a min to refresh
it’s annoying and youtube needs to fix
I was about to comment the same thing. Holy shit, I got an AD every 4-5 minutes.

I swear Nintendo must have been begging them to put this in the direct, but the Pokémon company said “no” lol. Like wow this hit the everything I hoped for. I hope they can iron out some of the frame rate issues on Pokémon legends but we have a year.
Pokemon usually does their own thing. They are one of the few Nintendo first parties that can exist and thrive without Nintendo's help.
Nintendo doesn’t owns them, they have to ask, beg, kneel, and be grateful they own enough shares to grant them exclusivity.

My first thought with the remake was "no! This is a step backwards!" But after that legends gameplay and the way Tim explained it I got super excited for both!
I’m so happy they’re doing Legends in Sinnoh too, with the Mountain and environments, Sinnoh and Johto have always been my fav

I’m super excited for the potential of Pokémon legends but who knows if it will live up to the hype. Also will it run well on the OG switch.

No way Zelda comes out early 2022, they haven't showed anything about that game except the first trailer. That's a fall 2022 game for sure, so Pokemon in spring makes sense.

I don't love the style for the gen4 remakes, they look like they're trying to go for the Link's Awakening style (which i love) but doesn't quite get there
While the Johto games will forever remain my favourite, Sinnoh comes a close second because these games had the more enticing lore compared to the others. So I’m really glad Pokémon Legends is going to explore that history. Also: Arceus finally gets to be a main game mascot.
On a side note, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are what I originally expected for the first 3D Pokémon games. So it’s interesting that they went this direction. I’m wondering if Link’s Awakening remake inspired the art direction.

@@auberginedreams00 Yeah, but you have to remember that Oak is also friends with Celebi, who likes to teleport him throughout time too. So I can see them pushing that angle but I can also see them not doing that as well.
Not a big fan of the remakes honestly, but Legends looks very exciting. I just hope the framerate is much better at launch, that didn't look smooth at all.

Interesting idea...Not really feeling it tbh. As someone who has the most fond memories with Sinnoh, I would have preferred a modern looking remake. However the faithful approach isn't a bad one, I will give it that. Legends though?! Maannn! That has me hyped! I'm glad to see it!

The art style of the remakes isn't what I was expecting, but it being developed by a studio thats not Gamefreak proper is interesting. I just hope the remake does something different and isn't 1:1 all the way through.
Legends is definitely the thing I was looking for though. Seeing how both the Wild Area in SwSh and Breathe of the Wild run, I don't think it'll chug TOO hard on current software, but I doubt it'll be ready for a Q1/Q2 release.
As long as they allow other Pokemon to show up the same way ORAS did and give us some kind of evolution change with the legendaries that incorporates into the story I'm down for it.
They're supposed to be faithful remakes. The only thing I could see them doing differently is maybe doing like Primal Dialga/Palkia, and maybe exploring Dialkia (and hopefully a Giratina episode).

That was my first thought. I was hoping for more of the world design of BotW with points of interest clearly visible. The bar is so low on Pokemon and they're not exactly a studio to keep raising it that I feel people are hyped about the idea and will eventually be disappointed with the result.

Pokémon Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond are just the originals but with more pixels and I love it

I just got a Switch over the Fall & slowly been playing Sword. I didn't play video games for a while (I fell off Poke after Peral) but I was THE elementary school age when Pokemon hit & it feels good to be back in the fold.
I would've preferred a Diamond/Pearl in the Sword/Shield style (or even Gold/Silver in that style)
What's everyone's thoughts on the chibi look for the DP remake?
I think it’s pretty much the most nostalgic thing they could have done. However, ORAS now sticks out like a sore thumb because it had the same 3D models as X/Y, whereas HGSS and BDSP both retain the chibi look in different resolutions. So it’s frustrating as a long time fan but I can look past it since Legends Arceus is coming.
Def gonna get stoned & have a relaxing rainy weekend playing Pokemon Snap.

As we know in the lore, we know that Reshiram and Zekrom were originally one Pokemon with Kyruem or some shit. Maybe we can get a Pokemon Legends game with that Original Dragon!
For Gen 6 X and Y, they can do a legends game on the Kalos War that happened 3000 years ago with AZ, Floette and the Ultimate Weapon
For Gen 3, Kyroge vs Groudon obviously
Gen 2, Lugia Vs Ho-Oh, we get to see how one the towers burned down and we can see how the three legendary beasts come to be
the possibilities are endless and I'm all for it!

Pokemon Legends is still a testing ground I feel. But I do believe this style will be the way pokemon games is from then on.
I'm not shocked at the low quality footage since it's just a preview. I feel once Pokemon Legends is completely it will be amazing.
We might even be able to cross time if they're treating it like a normal gradable RPG and have a fully realized Pokemon world where you could travel to many regions.
I don't think "Pokemon Legends" will be an ongoing line. Much like "Let's Go", whose purpose was to bring the "Pokemon GO" players to the switch which is why it was more dumbed down and had those mechanics, I think Legends serves the purpose of bringing us to this new kind of world. Having it be in a region which we know and love lightens the criticisms a new gen would face.
I think it’s a new take on the series. If it does well like Zelda botw. It will continue with this format
They said its the beginning of a new era, so i think they might give future games a similar asthetic and gameplay, but maybe not as free roaming and open world.
Don't get me wrong, I'm psyched for Pokemon Legends, but like, Pixelmon's been out for years.
So if you want to play an open-world Pokemon game, I can sincerely say that Pixelmon is my absolute favorite Pokemon game.
Because it's a mod, there isn't a story, but you can find all of the different Pokemon in their respective environments in a way that's just, so freakin cool. It even has elements that mix well with the base Minecraft game, like gathering resources to build PCs, healing machines, and even cloning equipment to get yourself a Mewtwo.
You can even ride on the backs of Pokemon, whether it's flying around, surfing over the ocean, or just plain racing over the plains!
10/10 would recommend.
Again, I'm absolutely gonna play Legends when it comes out, but if an open-world Pokemon game is something you're interested in, I'd give it a play to tide you over till Legends
I'm excited after this presentation. I knew the remake wouldn't be swsh style because the other remakes were similar but up-res'd versions of the prior games. But that Legends game?! Hell yes! What I've wanted for years. And it could be a great new series to expand on lore from the world, like the war mentioned in prior games. Sinnoh is the first region according to the lore, so it makes sense to do it there. I can't wait

I don't think that works with youtube premier streams. It doesn't buffer when you pause. It just skips to the live stream when you hit play again, and the problem continues.
Yo, Imagine having Pokémon legends Arceus with Ni No Kuni's combat... It would have been perfect.
If it sells well, I expect the sequels to expand on the idea and give us more fluid combat.

@@randomphil8666 Right but the point is they already did it once. That puts it lower on gamefreak's priorities than any generation that's never been redone.
I was expecting them to begin outsourcing games. I expected them to show both Diamond and Pearl remakes and Let's Go Johto here with Let's Go being outsourced by someone like Genius Sonority or Bandai Namco.
It was actually the Pokemon Home team making DP remakes while Gamefreak does something more ambitious. This is an exciting precedent. As long as the teams they outsource the other games to do a decent job, we might start seeing games that are closer to what we want and expect from Gamefreak.
I wouldn't complain if their 2023 game Let's Go 2 from maybe Genius Sonority while Gamefreak doubles down on Generation 9 for 2024.

All of those games are easily day 1 purchases for me. I am now more optimistic about the future of the Pokémon games than I have been in over a decade. Really fantastic that Gamefreak is finally evolving and also getting other studios involved with the main games.
I'm waiting to see what they do with the Animations, IT STILL LOOKS Lazy...

the idea of an open world, more action rpg pokemon is obviously exciting, but that trailer did not give me much confidence in Pokémon legends....
I don't think the developers are confident in making an action rpg, but this shows a clear shift in that direction. If Arceus is successful, I expect the sequels to expand on the gameplay and become the modern pokemon series we want. Their reluctance to commit to the idea is frustrating, but I'm optimistic.

It’s sad that it as exciting as it is to see Pokémon Legends when it looks as rough as it does. I don’t care if it’s early in development, but there have been major missteps for years now. They have a lot too prove before I can believe that this game will be good. I am hopeful...but until they can prove they can handle open world mechanics (which they haven’t so far), I will wait and see.
