@@fxbrianh Yeah, that's true. They would obviously need to modify the front end to fit the engine and toughen up the chassis to withstand the extra weight and tork. But it's possible to do it and still somewhat retain the look of a NEON. Who knows, they might actually be working on it right now for all we know.

I wouldn’t say it has aggressive styling, it’s rather subdued.
If it didn’t have stripes and it wasn’t red, I would say it had sleeper status. I think you can option both of those, so it’s not like it can’t be, even if this one isn’t.
@Shutbyotch I mean, if it was gray and didn’t have stripes, would most notice the badge? The paint is certainly the loudest thing about it to non-car people. Debadging it would make it more anonymous still, but people call the 550is and even the E63s of the world sleepers and those tend to have quite sporty badging on them. It all depends on how you define a term which has no super obvious definition. Is a car with performance badges on it but still a lowkey look a sleeper? I think so, probably.

I will take the “aged” analogue design all day long. The shifter has a tactile feel, real gauges, a simple flip up push button seat…yes definitely. Most importantly,it has an old school 710 hp engine that makes no apologies. You can tow your boat, bring your family on vacation, and run an 11 second 1/4. Insane. I just ordered a 2023 last call and can’t wait.

Fun fact, the shifter used to be a dial until there was a few people forgetting to put the car into park in the previous years. They had to switch back to typically shifter because people got hurt. Big mistake was the dail in the car that doesn't automatically shift into park if the driver door is opened without the seat belt.

Also literally less than 5 minutes after he explains that the Hellcat Durango has specific styling including a custom bumper and splitter.
So as long as people have no idea what the Hellcat symbol is, don't notice the racing stripes, and don't notice any of the exterior styling changes, it's a total sleeper!
Stripes are optional even on low power V8’s. Most on the road won’t have them.

You do have a good point, the Tesla is faster and more modern, and I would say it is a better car. I referred to cars like the bmw x5m, and amg SUV’s are 130-150k, they are as quick as this, but have a lot more tech, this is older therefore more simple, and I like that

@Martin "Compared to a Tesla." That's where you'd be wrong to compare them anyway, a Tesla won't have an MPG Rating right from the start. "Gets 5 MPG" you'd also be wrong, 16 City / 22 Highway is a little low for the current market but was about the average for its time.
The hellcat platform is amazing it has proven to be very reliable even while making huge power best power train dodge has had in decades

Dodge seems to be the only brand with the American Spirit guiding them. This vehicle is absolutely audacious. I have a 2019 RT and it's been a great vehicle for someone with a kid and two very large dogs who head up to the lake every weekend. I can only imagine how much fun the Hellcat is to drive.

I like how the fuel economy isn’t even mentioned on a review of a 3 row family suv. THIS would be the three row family suv for me
Probably because it has worse gas mileage rating than a Hummer at 12 city / 17 highway
I prefer some things left mechanical. Rear folding seats, parking break. I even prefer mechanical seat adjustment. Generally save weight, time, less gizmos to break.
Although keep in mind that Dodge isn't a reliable car brand unlike say Lexus.

You always rate most categories much lower than I would expect. I guess you need to fly a Leer Jet to give a vehicle 10 out of 10. You just seem to rate low most of the time. Minivans are notoriously difficult to work on the engines even with a “practical” engine in it. That would be an engineering nightmare. Making the engine fit without intruding in the cabin would be among the hardest parts (my assumption)
they could stick a turbo 4 banger in it and call it the chrysler pacifica heckcat

It feels like the Durango Hellcat was designed for me. I hate driving sluggish SUV's but I live in Michigan so half the year it is greatly beneficial to have an SUV. I am definitely going to scoop one of these up as soon as I can. I cant think of a better match.
