My favorite unit for the RGF is their Motorized unit. Of course, I like all motorized units more or less so I may be slightly biased. The BTR-82A is also a really good vehicle. While not super armored, it is fast and has a decent gun. The AK-74s are also really nice to handle and shoot as well, though the 1P78 scope is very not fun to use, so I usually use iron sights or the 1P63 sight whenever possible.
Everyone complains about the aks and their scopes but apart from the ROF being lower i dont really get it. Yes you have less fov in the scope but I still hit shots comfortably.
Biggest drawback is the infantry. The MG, LAT, HAT and Combat Engineer are all solid kits, but the rest feel worse than other factions. Bad optics is mostly the reason. RGF can be great for vehicle domination but they really need to stay mobile and not get bogged down.
The only issue with their armor, is that it is less durable, than US Army’s and Canada’s IFVs. Also, their scopes are subpar. But overall, minor drawbacks.
The AK-74M is surely the lowest scope rifle variant in the game and also has smaller damage compared to Blufor. But one thing's for sure, it has the lowest recoil of any rifle in the game, even lower than the AK-12 VDV.

Definitely appropriate counters for eachother, fairly balanced in terms of combative potential and applicable strategy but there are some key differences now that USA has the mobile mortars and such. I'd like to see USA Motorized up against RGF Mechanized.
Asia in squad is mostly focused around tropical asia, and the only horse they really could deploy there is maybe far east naval infantry? But Russia doesn’t really have the capacity for naval operations like that. The Soviets even did it.

ALL factions are capable. Just play them right. Keyword is RIGHT.

So then their infantry are more close quarter oriented then with the shitty optics.
Don't use optics, you don't usually need them 90% of the time and they reduce situational awareness
