Those small, in deck crystal type skylights go back at least to the 1840s. I've seen one in the Charles Morgan whaling vessel that is part of the museum in Mystic, Connecticut, USA. In that ship it is considered quite a special feature and supplies a lot of light to the deck right below it. It seems to be solid glass and has multi facets around the edge.
Thanks for the info 🫡
Thanks for the tour. Beautiful and unusual ocean-going boat.

Not just a boat but a proper ship.love it
She is a beauty. That is a whole world of luxury and pleasure in one bundle
Stunningly beautiful yet entirely without ostentation which is masterful design. To me it looks like a ship from a bygone age even with all the technology supporting that aesthetic being present and visible, I'm glad to have seen this ship, utterly inspiring.
This is a very good vessel for long-range travels. 5,000 nautical miles is quite the range. Wow! Thank you for this great presentation.
Glad you like it! Thanks for the comment 🫡
A typical" Gentleman's yacht" John for it's age it's a well kept classic that has probably seen many adventures in it's 20 plus years, since it's build. An informative tour as usual John
Thanks, John 🫡
Deck prisms are a traditional way of lighting below deck. Pilot cutters, as do many older boats, have them as most don't have portholes or windows in the accommodation as their decks are flush.
For me, it's the collab between Vripack and Nordhavn on the N148. I can't wait to see one of those built, because Nordhavn's are gorgeous vessels.
I absolutely love this vessel. However suddenly becoming disabled , losing great paying job, oilfield and economic collapse in sector i now live on pension benefits it will only take 200,000 years to save up enough to buy it. My congrats to the new owner. This kind of vessel was my dream and many others I know. 50 yrs for me.
I'm in the same boat, recently becoming really disabled, loosing my left leg below the knee, went through it twice, it's a long story, yeah they don't give you much to live on, hopes & dreams gone now, it's a different life now, stay strong👍✌️
Beautiful fit and finish by expert craftsmen.
Lovely boat!
Gorgeous vessel. ❤️👍🏻
Beautiful boat. Great video. Thanks for your work :)
Thanks! I appreciate it 🫡
Beautiful boat . I love that covered dock too, I've never seen it before watching your videos .
Great place to keep a boat 😍
Lovely boat, and a much better video when you narrate as you film than when you do a voice over, so much more natural
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback 🫡
She's beautiful! It's hard to believe she is 124 years old.
A work of art.
Ah! Ah! Am I finally seeing a classy unique boat that is not a sleek polular speed boat, or a look alike like which everyone else wants or has. A boat with only one engine yet having a practical hull, rudder and a protected prop. And who said that bigger is always better? I have seen so many bigger boats that are much faster but can not go the distance. And when it comes to choppy waters, every boat has to slow down. Even a 200,000ton ship. This is a boat that is very Classy, economical, unique and compact. Yes it would be ideal for the Mediterranean and very safe and comfortable boat to boot.
Tşk ler.

Very nice boat, comes with history and class. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
David Seal has had a couple of yachts that were older that had light difussers on them coming from the top deck.
The overall lines are quite nice.
Gorgeous vessel- thanks for the tour!
Glad you enjoyed it
Love, love this beautiful yacht
🙌
A nazar at the entrance.
Hell yeah.
Deck prism, or bulls eyes, were preferred due to not needing fire or fuel, back in the day. Were very popular in the art deco era later on.
Thanks for the info 🫡
Perhaps the latest (sailing) yacht to have these prisms is Leo Gooldren's "Tally Ho", under rebuild at Port Townsend, Washington .
Various shapes are available, much the way today as over the last 180 years or so.
Lovely boat, seen it a few time over the past few years in the Aegean. I gave the owner the nickname of admiral because of his ways. lol.
Amazing boat, thanks
You bet!
Waw, the perfect boat, this would be my dream live aboard❤🎉❤
Stunning Yacht!

Beautiful!

I think it is a great yacht!
17:19 that is a beautiful and bright idea. 💡
Look at the woodwork......oh man
Thing is like a Tardis. Just keep finding more and more spaces. Being a Cat A, I would want her to have some solar so I wasn't using diesel for the generator
Lots on space on the coach roof for panels 🌞🌞 🫡
Perfect.
Beautiful vessel.
16L or approx 4 gallons an hour OMG!
Oma Duck hätte ihre Freude an den alten Kasten...
deck prisms! fantastic boat. they light and help keep mold from growing. usually found on old sailing vessels.
Good to know!
on sailing vessels i have seen prisms mounted in the deck to allow natural lighting below. never seen something like this on a motor yacht.
Yes, I've used those deck prisms on one of my modern designs in a long corridor to add natural light. New Zealand Yachts 33m wavepiercer.
These glas deckholes are very common in old, classic or neo classic Dutch vessels. I sail on a 100 year old wooden fishing boat (Aak) and she has the same sky lights.
lovely boat i always prefer the classic look
Loving your videos John could ask that when you tell the audience what the ships rating is that you explain it the the people like myself that have no idea it’s interesting to know what size seas and wind it can handle. Thanks for posting the content is extremely interesting
Does it have an auto pilot that can be set and take you across the pond with no problem from Europe to United States?
Tally Ho boat that is being rebuilt is putting those in the deck for lighting.
Stunning ship! Was there a proper galley, or just that small fridge under the chart table?
This boat is build by JP Yachting , they build the casco!!
Yachtbuilder vd Berg did the motor and so on.
All of the wouldwork was made in Turkey and was build by man who came from turkey
I would call this a gentleman's yacht, a long range cruiser, and a very fine, seaworthy example.
Explorer yachts, to my mind, need 12,000 nautical mile range, with an ice hull and full redundancy in the event that equipment breaks down. Maybe a submarine or underwater exploration equipment and ocean worthy tenders as landing craft. With the fantastic drones available, a helicopter may be more trouble than it's worth.
I hate over and under berths, and would change them to a single berth cabin, maybe with a fold down emergency pipe berth. Maybe as a captains cabin. Wonderful millionaires day boat for entertaining at yacht regattas and just enjoying going to sea, to see the sea.
Hold your horses sporty chap, this one is build to enjoy finer and cultured things in life.
With a boat like this, apparently you need a lot of books.
5000 nm allow for a LOT of reading
Only edumacated people can afford the boat, and, they's gunna use them books to get even smarta.
Reminds me of a Trumpy
Very nice unpretentious styling.
Beautiful vessel and a nice tour, but being in the usa i haven't learned metric somaybe on the important parts you could add standard measurements like the length, beam, fuel
Thanks for the tip!
There where two of these build
A true craft for the slightly reclusive nautically competent gent. Fill it with some fine foods and liqueurs and scent it with fine cigars
lol - love this comment 😂😂
nice boat but the wood paneling is a bit dark. I wonder if this is because it was an enclosed area. anyway that is a minor point. rest is fantastic
You know drains in major cities and towns could be used to make small lakes for boats like these which are full of helium 3 and 4 titanium oxide and lime which will impregnate the water supply in our rivers and dams. Intelligent water equals intelligent people and wildlife.
She beautiful
You could capture the sewage make power and rent them out as motels hotels.
what is the link to the company listing so we can enquire about the boat?
Hi, the link is in the video description.
@@YachtBuoy it doesn't look like it is buddy, their is a link to your business, the 2nd channel and the music
Ah, yes, you are right! This boat has now been sold, which I why I removed the link. @@TinWhistleTV This one is currently for sale though: czcams.com/video/i2va642HcVY/video.htmlsi=3Ry9EEaLy3HnVGFP
@@YachtBuoy ooh, that makes sense, thanks for the link do, I appreciate it.
There good old Deck Prissims David Newcastle Australia 🦘

Love it but 2 deal breakers for me. No en suite in the owners cabin. A sink? And share a bathroom with guests? On this size of craft? No. And room for a tiny little tender? No A beautiful boat. But not one I want.
Is this boat for sale?
At the time of filming she was for sale but in between recording the footage and uploaded the video the boat has now been sold.
Thank you for a great video of abeautiful boat without all that nonsens acting like your competitors… (nautistyles)
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment 🫡🙌
better be taking alot of tinned food with you cos a 30L fridge aint gunna cut it lol it has serious legs but 0 practicality of doing it with out stopping in port every day
Perspective... context.... spatial awareness... The close ups with the camera work destroys the beauty of the ships interior.
Cheers for the tip! I have just invested in the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, which will be much better for this type of filming.
