For the price this boat is a steal!!! Great video and beautiful yacht!!!
Thanks Trey, We agree! Do I hear an offer coming on??
I think it is far priced for the right people to take care of her.
Beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder on that interior...
Indeed!
nice yacht that man knows what is talking about and knows how to plan for the future
Thanks Roger! He definitely thought through every aspect of design and function. The result was very special...Thanks again for the comment!
What a stunning vessel and fun walk thru! So much a person learns from each of these videos! I can't wait to see that is coming up next.
More to come!
Great boat- video and wonderful owner .Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it... Thanks so much for the comment!
That engine room was a lot tighter than I would have expected.
Love hearing from the owner, gives a great view into someones passio n
This definitely was a labor of love from start to finish. This owner thought everything through and he knows this boat inside and out.... She will take you anywhere you want to go!
Beautiful book! Thanks for showing us, Mr. Hoffman!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the vid. It is a beautiful vessel & well designed as well as cared for by loving owners. It would be great sea boat. I have no doubt she will see new owners very soon. I enjoyed seeing her if only by video. Tks.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
I'd take that boat over any superyacht every time.
I couldn't agree more... That's probably why you see very few superyachts in the Bering Sea!
Thanks for the comment!
And me.
Same
Yea
Even over Nordhavn 76 ?
That's a very unique and interesting boat.
She definitely is special Joseph... Thanks much the comment!
I like it, I’m shocked no desalination device. Spending that much time on the water without a fresh water maker seems unusual to say the least. They have done so much work I can’t comprehend not adding it.
I’ve used those “older” electronics but everything fails and newer Chartplotter wouldn’t hurt that bridge a bit. I could live on that boat.
It is all in the eyes of the beholder anymore… but, luckily it is not that expensive to upgrade, if you want to!
Good presentation! Thanks!
Thanks so much for the feedback, and glad you enjoyed it! Lots more to come!!
Very cool boat and great video.
Some constructive criticism for future videos: an uncut walk through below decks would be very helpful for understanding the layout. An uncut on-deck walk though would be nice as well, but not quite as important. Learning the Lines does that and it's one of the best parts of their channel.
Noted... Thanks for the feedback Evan!

Love hearing stories , great information.
For a 74' boat, I think living spaces are small and to go from one to another...it feels like a labyrinth
It is actually a very well thought out and spacious design.
Amazing one of my favorite CZcams channels
Great boat ❤
That was the most beautiful vessel I've seen yet, for as old as she is! God Bless yous all! Great tour as well Captain! Love every moment and minute, of your true! Thanks for showing her. She is a Classic vessel all by herself!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. The ER is a very special vessel.
Beautiful boat
I saw her up in BC this summer, beautiful boat.
That's so great to hear, thank you! She circumvented Vancouver island this summer for about six weeks. Where did you see her?
@@yachtlens I thought it was up by Bishop Bay, but that is a bit far north for a circumnavigation of Vancouver, might have been between Campbell River and Port McNiel
I'll take a commercial fishing wheelhouse over a yacht wheelhouse any day. Two helm chairs are always better.
Nice conversion!
Couldn't agree more!
The fella didn’t go cheap. The only change I’d make is a modern day passage maker engine room. It just seems to me, there was to much hanging all over the engine room. However, the owner does know his engine room.
That he does. Thanks for the comment!
Lovely boat.
Thank you!
very nice boat
Many thanks James!
Great boat..
She is awesome, and... She is for sale!
THANKS, WOW IT EASY BEING SMART . 😮
I sail but as a former deckhand on research vessels, I'm also a big fan of 'proper ship' trawler yachts. I really like this guy's boat and he's made a lot of sensible decisions in fitting her out. But if I bought her, I'd break his heart by painting over about 90% of that wood...just way too many species and colours for my liking, but to each his own of course.
Actually, if you buy her... you can feel free to paint her whatever color you want!
A great looking and very capable looking vessel. The only thing missing is a bow thruster?
Very nice conversion. Missing a backup engine, and didn’t see a water maker, but she does have large tankage.
Thank you. The owner never felt she needed a water maker as she has a 1200 gallon fresh water hold.
Love the name my mom's name was Elizabeth and my grandmother's name was Ruth
That must be the “bigger boat” they needed in Jaws.
It is true, this is the boat Roy Scheider was hoping for!
❤ it, I volunteer for the deck hand 😂
Ok, you're on the list!
Thanks for the comment.
@@yachtlens 😂
Nice boat. I imagine a boat like for the zombie apocalypse. Mount a .50 Cal on the deck.
A sturdy ship for a man who likes to tinker and maintain his own stuff. Not a square foot of fiberglass on board, nor granite countertops in the galley nor orchids in the salon. My kind of ship.
Thank you. We really appreciate her high quality throughout. The Elizabeth Ruth has had impeccable maintenance in fine detail by her captain owner.
Real explorer
Correct again!
At the price of diesel, a trip to Hawaii and back would cost almost $30,000!
Its pretty economical for its size to run! However this is a dream of a boat and worth every penny! Never seen a more impeccable Trawler! Sounds like you may be looking for a sailboat perhaps?
Nice
Thanks
Serious traveling boat....
She truly is!
A MAN AND HIS TOY!!..
We agree, she is really a gem! Thank you for commenting.
Great boat to have when the zombies start roaming the earth. Not a boat for the pretty people; this is a real man's boat.
I'm not exactly sure what the first or second part of that means... But, as for the last part, the owner is in fact "quite a man" and he couldn't agree more! Thanks for the comment!
Just means you have to get your hands dirty to maintain this boat (pretty people won"t-just a term) and when the zombies start roaming the eath, this is the work horse that will keep you safe at sea.

An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come.
It's hard to argue with that!
I thoroughly enjoyed the video a year later....... Can you tell me if the vessel has been sold or not? thanks
Thank you for the compliment. She is currently available with some inquiries coming in now. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested. She is an amazing vessel!
@@yachtlens My numbers would have to come in before I could ever think about !! 🤣🤣 Thanks for the invite though
The boat is better when shown while at sea.
She spends a lot of time at sea.
Fair price.
Thanks Steve, we think so!
She really is an exceptional vessel and extremely well maintained. BTW she is being hauled this month for routine maintenance in Port Townsend, WA. She will be available for out of water inspection from the 15th to the 22nd.
Thanks again for the comment!
I’ve had many a good sleep at night after some excellent gear……
Same here!
He sure wants everyone to know that he did everything by himself, no credit to his wife or anyone else
An interesting take away, but... It couldn't be further from the truth.
Darn I want to win the Millions!!.. What great ship and owner... I hope she get a new owner there respect her and not fill her with all kind of gizmos instead of needed.
Good news Bert, It only takes half a million and she's yours!!
03:15 there is a warning not to enter the area while the maschine is in operation. Why?
That is an old sign the owner used as part of the decor in the focsle cabin. Thanks for the question!
I need to work on my concentration or something, I missed the price. How much is it?
The asking price is $499,000. Here is a link to the listing information. We also have it in the details section of the video. Thanks for asking! section.www.unitedyacht.com/used-yachts-for-sale/custom-robinson-modified-monk-1991-elizabeth-ruth-2778012

What does he do for a living to afford such a boat? I'd like to change careers immediately.
He was a ferry boat captain! 😀
seems like a awfully small living space for a 74' boat
It is actually an incredibly spacious and comfortable boat. We'd be happy to get you aboard for a tour!
Must come from money to do all that in his 20s. Neat boat.
Umm... Not so sure about that.
Your thinking in todays mindset. Folks today can't do anything without a support group. I'm exactly like this gent...Im 60 and I learned to build and fabricate. Be suprised how much you save on labor by being a doer. Let alone the feeling of accomplishment....
@@lenjames I'm 54 and I've been a welder/fabricator for 37 years, I know. But even with millions of dollars in equipment at my disposal through my employer, it's still T&M which are the greatest expenses. There's only so many hrs. in a week and if he was working to buy material, how much time did he have to do the labor? How did he afford the initial purchase and transport? That's not moved or docked cheaply.
Videography suggestion. Zoom out. You’re too zoomed in most of the time.
Thank you for commenting. This video was done prior to an update on equipment. We do appreciate your suggestion, cheers!
I do wish people would include the price on these videos
Hey, Thanks for the feedback. The price is not included in the video for a few reasons.
1. Prices can fluctuate and we don't want inaccurate info in the video.
2. We do have the price in the description below the video, along with links to all the sales information and specs.
3. This video wasn't entirely meant to be a sales video. It was designed to give viewers a detailed look into a very unique and special vessel, from the owners perspective.
Tracy is cuckoo for cocoa puffs.
I heard it was Count Chocula, but ok.
Paint that wood eggshell white and move on.
Nah dawg, too cold... This boat's all about warmth!
How boring and tasteless.
