I'm a millennial, and my also millennial girlfriend also misuse bet ALL the time and I don't have the heart to tell her. But it's weird that she does cuz she's a teen librarian and should know the slang better since she talks to teens literally every day lol.
He used “bet” incorrectly 3 seconds after reading his task. I knew how exactly how this was gonna go after that 😂
@@samonthecreek Well, he used it correctly, it's just not the slang form of the word "bet" that he used. "I bet you" is older than the slang "bet", if that makes sense.

At the end of the day they are all here as friends and to have fun, all while creating interesting content for one another.
Bdubs didn't intentionally mean to miss those words. He clearly thought he got them all and caught it in editing. It is an honest mistake.
Having said that, bending the rules from time to time, or being a little more lax with some than others, can actually lead to an increase in fun along with creating more interesting content....
They self moderate so if there is an issue rest assured they will call each other out on it.
Others sweat their shirts with tasks overdoing it just to be sure, Like Scar with Gem and Scotts did a triple with that one and counted one base

You can't convince me these tasks are given out randomly. Bdubs the twitter master getting the "hello fellow youths" task, scar "light of the server" getting the steal torches task
Oh they're definitely not random. Gem's was given to her specifically because she failed last time and incorrectly pressed success, and a lot of the others matched their histories/personalities. So the initial tasks seem to be assigned intentionally, but the re-rolls are probably random, since they don't know who will be going up.
I think that they have a pool of tasks for each of them, so the tasks are randomized but relevant to each player
Y’all be trippin. It’s easy to design a random system like this, and account for what happened to Gem.

43:40 I love most the scenes where everyone is trying to get through a task and it just looks like nonsense and insanity from the outside. Tango stops to talk to his imaginary friend when Pearl asks him for food, Pearl looks down at the food he gives her and immediately asks Etho for it since she can't pick it up, and Etho (despite agreeing to help Pearl with her task) says he doesn't eat fish, because his goal is to get someone else to fail their task.
All of this with Bdubs just staring at them while his task is "completed", so he starts freaking out from all of it.
I LOVE that bdubs got this task it’s the funniest thing, the fact that he doesn’t know how to use “bet” in a modern way made this even better

@@vuko6186 You just say "bet" or "okay, bet" or "alright bet", that sort of thing, when someone tells you they are going to do (or that you can't do) something. It's sort of a short way to say "I take the bet", or in other words it's kind of a "we'll see"

The way my brother uses it is I’ll ask “Wanna come into town for pizza with us?” and he’ll reply “bet”.
I also watch streamers who use bet for the actual word (like betting) and just reply “Aight bet” whenever someone challenges them something unlikely

I know some people were like "he failed omg" but honestly, it's self-evaluated and he definitely did good enough.
Bdubs task does have clear success/fail states, but they'll probably do what gem did this session and have him reroll for hard next time.

@matthewparker9276 honestly it's hard to keep track of everything while recording under a time limit. there are other players who didn't completely finish their task to the exact text or fumbled the rules a little and didn't reroll for hard. he did acknowledge it though, so maybe he'll reroll? either way I'm still gonna thoroughly enjoy his pov of this series!

These tasks feel very targeted, I think Bdubs is the only Hermit who could have got away with that one
Conspiracy theory time: Bdubs success at the task, actually qualifies Etho as having succeeded at his. Etho's task was to "Figure out someone's task and prevent them from completing it." By repeating Bdubs Gen Z phrases, Etho unknowingly prevented Bdubs from completing his task satisfying the second condition. Second, although he thought he had successfully completed it by then, Bdubs did say what his task was afterwards to Etho. As such, by technicality, Etho did complete his secret task.

You can use cornflower to make blue dye. It was way too funny hearing you talk about how you needed lapis with Mumbo, even though there were cornflowers to the left of you XD.

Task/Secret Suggestion: Present something/someone to a player, and make them rate them on a scale of 1-10. You get to decide what aspect of it they will be rating. If up to five different players rate something higher than 7, you succeed.
Bdoubleo100's base is gonna be the most unique base out of every season at this rate.

Task Idea: Reuse old bits for the whole session. At least 3 jokes must be with the players that originally made them. (Ex. Aha puns with Martin, Bad boys rhymes with Joel, Affirmations with skizz.)

If you give out true but misleading clues to the yellows, you could encourage them to waste their guess on an incorrect answer. This strategy gets riskier the more yellows there are conspiring with each other, so Mumbo is smart to do it now while there are still so few.
This whole episode is giving “what’s up, my fellow kids?”

Task ideas: create the longest conga line you can with other players. Variation 1: the players have to be on rideable mobs. Variation 2: they are on mobs being pulled on a lead by the person in front of them.
