Don’t you need insurance to get a tag? Maybe they don’t want to pay for insurance. Which is why I pay extra for uninsured/ underinsured motorist protection.
I had one of those idiots in the office. Wasn't flat before you towed it!!! I tried to show him a picture of it before we towed. He started screaming "Get that away from me!! I don't want to see that!!"
I recently drove around in a large apartment complex and I could not believe how many broken down cars and trucks there were; broken windows, flat tires, etc., there were even many without plates. There were even people working on their vehicles with oil cans and parts thrown about. It made the area look horrible to live in. I now understand why they tow those types of vehicles. It really makes the place look bad, like you wouldn't want to live there. As always, you are the best Johnny!
Our apt has rules stating no "working on vehicles" in parking. So I pointed out to management politely after I moved in that someone was altering a police K9 VEHICLE in our underground parking, and i was going to call the police since it was still fully covered in full insignia, i thought it might be stolen. Miraculously next day the insignias were slashed through with spray paint, and by end of week it was gone. It's back now all fixed up, repainted. Being driven by a patrol Sgt who lives in the building. Oopsie, guess I caught him breaking the rules. I honestly had no idea.
The people that refuse to register their vehicles are the same ones that NEVER maintain them. Never change oil. Coolant? What's that? Tire pressure? Too busy to check, while laying on couch Facebooking. Washing and cleaning interior. Too expensive. The way they treat their cars says a lot about how they live their lives. Total neglect and ALWAYS 'not my problem', and 'why me?' One more outstanding character quality is how loud they are. Just my observance after 73+ years.
Another outstanding character quality is judging people you don't know personally based on a small clip of their lives. Another is hypocritical calling out people for a hobby like social media while wasting time commenting yourself on you guessed it social media. Miserable old loser

Where I live, Test Drive plates cannot be permanently attached to the vehicle. They can use those pouches that hang from straps and magnetic holders but NOT be placed where proper plates should be.
One time I was almost late renewing my tag so I didn't receive the sticker/registration until after the due date. I felt like a criminal! I just don't get why people choose to live that way.
European style tow truck time? Flat deck with a Hiab Crane; each wheel is placed in a Cradle sling... then hooked to a 4 corner overhead spreader that is attached to the HIab Crane... Crane picks up vehicle.. places on Flatdeck.. job done.
At least Georgia Tows. State of Missouri does Absolutely Nothing for Expired Plates, Tags, Licenses or NO Insurance. Anything Goes State. $ 83 Million Owed.
Sadly, there are some (hopefully few in number) unethical tow companies/operators. Thankfully Johnny is not of that breed, so acts as a good example to others. Every towing company I've seen of late, for example, are recording their tows so as to prove prior existing damage (before the tow in other words), where the vehicle was located when towed, and the status of signage - if applicable - as to why someone was towed. Then again, there are those who "create" their own parking spots next to dumpsters, or in other spots that would clearly block access somehow. Those are very frustrating as the idiot involved may try to argue it wasn't marked so they should have been allowed to park there. I watched this one video, somewhere in NY city I believe, involving a fire hydrant built into the side of a building. Some years back the city had given the owner of that building special permission to do this provided the alley way next to that part of the building was marked as a fire lane. This was done and you could clearly see the markings painted on the ground and signs stating that it was a fire lane and parking was banned. There is a parking garage built into the basement of this building too, with the entrance/exit to it on the other side of the building. Those manning the parking garage booth are also tasked with the job of monitoring that alley and state they have to tow someone from there at least once or twice every week. Unreal!
It cracks me up when people buy vehicles they cant really afford. The get their financing and dont even think about being able to afford the insurance, taxes/plates/registration, or if it needs repairs. It cracks me up when someone has to have a mercedes (just an example) but cant afford a repair bill because the parts and labor are so high.
Astonishing how they can always find a hundred bucks for the drop fee, but can never come up with two hundred bucks to get it fixed !

Cops need to crack down on these Test drive tags. People are using them to avoid getting reported for their awful driving and accidents.

My daughter is at Wash U. She has a collection of expired tags. She takes pictures of them. I believe the oldest is over 3 years old. Crazy
