Exactly, like the little girl in the right jumping up and down screaming with her arms up in the air. When I went and saw this, one of my friends was like “OOH! IT’S SHADOW, I PREDICTED IT!” and even though I was hoping for Metal and Amy I was supportive and clapped, having faith that the next movie will be a blast as well. And hopefully have more characters introduced there.
On the way out of the theatre after seeing this I saw this little boy exclaiming "Mommy, that was Shadow!" and explaining who he was and it really just warmed my heart

When the G.U.N. agent said "50 years" when I watched it for the first time, I had to try *really* hard not to start geeking out !
When she said "50 years" i was dying and angry at the same time because i saw a couple of kids leaving the theater and i was like DONT LEAVE DONT LEAVE but they ignored me.
It makes sense. I mean, Sonic 2 made the G.U.N. canon in the movie setting, meaning long-time fans were most likely expecting Shadow to be involved but weren't truly sure until the stinger brought it up.

Controversial as it may be among the fan base, it doesn't shy away from violence, such as Vader literally *murdering a child on screen* in the Obi-Wan show, and people explicitly getting killed in gruesome ways in "Rebels", even though the most brutal ones (such as those two Imperial officers being beheaded by the Inquisitor for their failure) are sound-only. I think they can do Shadow's backstory justice while keeping it "kid-friendly", such as only hearing the gunshot that took Maria's life without showing her actual death. Kids aren't morons, and as you pointed out, old-school Disney movies had some really dark elements. Besides... Well, Sonic Adventure 2 *was* marketed towards kids after all. I say wait and see. I just hope they treat Shadow the way they treated Knux.

Shadow is a complex character, with equally complex morals. With little patience for ignorance, he works really well when he knows something everyone does not. That's why he fits in with back room dealing and intelligence office like scenarios. He knows the ins and outs of any organization's dark side... and he does not like it.
It's no wonder why I hate going to movie theaters now. I would be extremely annoyed watching any movie with those people. It's great to be excited but don't ruin it for other people where we can't even hear what's going on

Back when I went to watch the movie with my mother, I remember hearing all the kids in the audience sound so excited when Shadow showed up. It felt... almost hopeful? A character I love, making a younger generation so excited.
I like how a bunch of people knew at the mention of 50 years but EVERYONE knew as soon as you saw his shoes. Didn't even need to see the rest of him, those air shoes are iconic!

As somebody who's family literally pretended not to know them after I jumped up and started screaming from utterly joy, this makes me feel better XD, I love that EVERYONE lost their minds over our boy. Community, man, sometimes we just gotta be overjoyed over our boy.
I’ve seen 3 different perspectives of the theater when that happened and they all have a very similar reaction. It just makes me feel so happy and makes me just not able to wait for the next one!
I lost myself when this appeared and shadow made the entrance. What’s crazy about it is that we almost left the room and missed it, if I did, that’ll be the biggest regret ever! Prey to god of shadow fans that the creators will get shadow right!

The hyped up reactions to Shadow’s reveal is THE closest thing to ever having a reaction to a hyped up game reveal at E3. Let’s hope that the 3rd movie is just as amazing, or even more than that than the 2nd movie.

I’ve seen 3 different perspectives of the theater when that happened and they all have a very similar reaction. It just makes me feel so happy and makes me just not able to wait for the next one!
I lost myself when this appeared and shadow made the entrance. What’s crazy about it is that we almost left the room and missed it, if I did, that’ll be the biggest regret ever! Prey to god of shadow fans that the creators will get shadow right!

Even with my volume on 10% just the sheer energy behind the excited screams of everyone in that theater managed to smack both of my eardrums with Louisville Sluggers!
Though I must say, I'm just as excited for Shadow's reveal as they are! (I think we ALL are excited for his appearance)
I heard someone else seeing this scene on my way out OF THE MOVIE and heard nothing, except one guy go “SHADOW.”

The hyped up reactions to Shadow’s reveal is THE closest thing to ever having a reaction to a hyped up game reveal at E3.
Let’s hope that the 3rd movie is just as amazing, or even more than that than the 2nd movie.
I am glad that shadow got this much hype just the mention of 50 years ago was enough for this crowd to know what came next, I'm sad that when I watched it, barely anyone gave a reaction besides me...
When I saw this in the theatre, everyone’s started cheering and clapping, in here tho I loved how the scream was kinda cut off or smth like that

I like to think that the cast and crew decided, "Let's give the fans a third Sonic movie after this one." Seriously, if you already saw Sonic The Hedgehog 2 in theaters, you can easily remind yourself that *EVERYONE* else would go crazy for Shadow.
