In towns keeping up with the flow of traffic at 20/30mph limits is always going to be less dangerous than being passed by vehicles continuously....
@@Jafmanz it can can faster than 15, it will just provide maximum SUPPORT of 15 meaning you can use the electric to get up to 15 and then easily cruise into 16 to 20 or hugger depending on the surface

It's an EBike not a half ebike. If you're paying 5k or so for an electric bike USE it's potential! Otherwise listen to your old medieval government that thinks an electric bike needs restricting but a Hayabusa that can do over 300km/h doesn't need restrictions. Restrict all cars to 70mph because that's the speed limit! Imagine having 20 bikes doing 15mph while you are in traffic going to work...how much time you'll be stuck behind them?!

Not sure what you are watching, there is literaly no issue or problem with the biker or me, I was merely wondering was he pedalling up to 15mph on the legal UK limit then on his own power or does he have a speedbox fitted. There is no problem at all, still baffled by the daft comments, watch the video.
The issue is, does he have a Speedbox fitted or is he pedaling under his own steam at 30-32 mph I thought this was obvious maybe I'm being too subtle 🙄
If he's spotted by the feds he'll get his bike taken, £300 fine and 6 points on his licence. It's absolutely crazy. I've got an e-scooter and afraid to use it.
If you not stuiped with it and don't fly around make its look like your are pedaling flat out. But also depends what time you ride out if at like 4 am it does help to get to work faster I want to get a ebike and derestrict it so I can do 50kph mostly all on country roads I know well it be good
I bought an electric scooter brand new and kept it for 2 years waiting for this fucked government to legalize them as they kept saying, I now sold it brand new to half price and feel unfair!
Becomes a very viable form of transport at those reasonable speeds as well as nice and green.
Personally, I think 15mph restriction is too low for a ebike..
I agree I have a Cube Reaction Pro 2020 seriously thinking of fitting Speedbox 3 not to go 40mph just extra boost in traffic and those big hills

I agree but it's the law and the penalties are very harsh, I won't risk it because they are motoring offenses, no insurance, is one.

I can hit 20mph+ on my mtb no problem, but not maintain it for extended periods.
Fastest I've done on my mtb is 54kph. I think that's 33.5mph
