The future will never be electric for motorcycles dude.
Never as in ever ever? I think it's unfortunately not too far into the future.
I can’t see any significant part of the market going electric

Have a 2007, best bike ever. Great torque, great lean angle, great ride.
I just missed out on a super nice raider woth optional front fairing. Looked gorgeous.
I will sell you mine I'm just up the freeway from you 06 Stratoliner lots of chrome
I have a 2006 s model. It is aluminum swing arm and frame. That was a big weight saver.
Thanks. I wasn't aware they switched. Should have done that from the beginning. It still says around 20 percent of the power but I'll take it for not having to maintain it.
I have the best of two worlds. I have had a 2004 Warrior for years, and recently bought myself a 2013 Victory CCT! I adore both and now have a full-time hobby of riding, and searching for parts and accessories...😏
How has the ownership of victory been now that they are gone?
@pegasusmotorcycletours I love my Victory! Parts aren't that difficult to find, for now...
@@amjrpain919 One day I will pick me up the vegas.
I have the 2014 Road liner and the 2007 Warrior best bikes I've ever had they are some awesome bikes and I still have them right today and haven't had a problem out of neither one of them and that lady in that car😤 in a very good video on this bike
Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment. I'm very happy to hear you as an owner agree with my assessment of both bikes. I assume you've seen my warrior reviews as well.
They’re much smoother because they have a Counterbalance in the 1900 vs the 1700 roadstar that shakes and vibrates . Great review !!👍👏
Thanks for that tidbit. Great info. Much appreciated.
Bought one in the uk in 06 traded a 04 R1, when I said I'd have it. I'd never seen the salesman move so fast, I've still got it and love it, it out harleys harley a great ride at 66 it's heavy but I'm not a big guy anyway so have to consider parking, but its low and easy to paddle a future classic.
Great to hear your still Happy with the change. Safe travels and thanks for sharing.
Just picked up a 2006 and I love it. Had to get used to the snappy throttle, but otherwise just bonded with it instantly. The only flaw on mine is that the tachometer moisture issue burned the neutral light out. Having grown up on dirt bikes with zero lights and meters, this isn't a concern, but I carry a gallon size Ziploc freezer bag with 4 small, strong magnets inside so I can put a magnet in each corner of the bag and stick it to the gas tank, covering the tachometer whenever the bike's going to be out in the rain. Seems to work like a charm, so far.
Fantastic fix. How brilliant. It's interesting that the neutral light hasn't shorted the main fuse. I've had the neutral light rub against the suffrage on my klr650 and short out the main fuse. Thanks for sharing.
Great video, very thorough examination by someone who so obviously knows what they're talking about...can't get past that woman jumping out in front of you like that, its so terrifying to know that you can be doing everything right and still be injured/killed by someone just being careless. Had a woman pull out in front of me last year, barely managed to swerve and avoid her...went back to view the gopro footage and she had just the most far off look on her face, didn't even seem like she was mentally present. Scary stuff.
Thanks for watching. Often it's a reaction from shock honestly, I don't take it personally. I started wearing the Alpinestars tech air 3 vest but it went off on me just getting off the bike
I'll be reviewing it this year so stay tuned and thanks for the support.
I love my ‘06 Stratolined Roadliner bought 7 years old with 3K miles. Reckless fairing just installed. I am never going electric.
Fantastic bike. I had one Zero e bike and that was enough.
Got exactly same model, just got rid of the windshield and put Batwing fairing. And it's not a deluxe, its a Stratoliner S. Delux were with the oem batwing fairing. Also got 2019 fjr1300, love riding both. Take care!
Thank you so much for that clarification. I wonder where I read the deluxe if not on the seat. Or maybe the seat was changed. Thank you for that clarification though. I saw recently the Raider with the full fairing which surprised me a little bit. Still looked quite great.
i have a 2007 stratoliner s with 10,000 miles on it ,very beautiful bike my go to when i want to ride .
Thanks for sharing. Cheers
GREAT VIDEO....I have a 06 that looks exactly like that, well before all the modifications and honestly i dont want to ride nothing but a Yamaha
Thanks for watching. Glad you agree. Cheers. Nik
Thank you for this insightful video. You broke alot of the technical facts down in a way that i could follow. I'm a shadetree bike mechanic so while i understand what alot of the things do i don't know the terms or specifics without looking up the individual thing in my hand. I've been on the fence between the vulcan 2000 from kawasaki, the vtx1800 from honda and the roadliner. If you can't tell I'm looking for a roadking/heritage type bike without the price and issues that come with those two bikes. I think you sold me on the roadliner. Three vtx was eliminated because it's shaft drive. I adore chain drive and can tolerate and ignore the a belt drive. For me it's the oil cooling system and the (I'm not going to butcher that Japanese brand name) EFI throttle body system you were talking about. The handling and power differences between the vulcan and the roadliner to me were negligible. The five mph differences in top speed and the half inch in lean angle were all fine and i don't really care about trim packages since i strip everything off for storage right off the bat and ride bare bones. The efficiency of the 1900 and cooling factors will be the biggest benefit to me for my type of trips. Midwest to the south and the west coast. This will soak up that abuse with less wear and my turn key reliability in the vastly different climates will be better than the vulcan. Starting my bike every morning for work is easy to ask for but starting at a camp sight in a desert basin one day and then up top a forested mountain two days later with no issues is a whole other ask. It sounds like for what it's worth the roadliner will be a better companion than the vulcan. Thanks man, I've got a few leads and I'm cleanings up some maintenance and undoing some mods for my trade in this spring. I should be getting on one in the next 3 months. It's going to be so much better on the interstates than my 500 pound 50 horsepower carbed cruiser I've been running all around. Adjusting carbs when your trying to keep on a time schedule has been getting frustrating even though I've gotten fast at it.
Cant go wrong with a Yamaha
Thanks so much for sharing. Did you find your new bike yet?
Agreed
Awesome bikes, I had a Roadliner and a Raider
How was the raider - something one could live with daily, or more of a weekend warrior.
J'en ai un depuis 2 ans, meilleures moto a vie en 27 saison 💯
Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment. Yes it's quite a fantastic ride. Would be great for the countryside of France. I rode through friends in about 2 weeks and went to Lemans with my Kawasaki.
Amazing bikes, I bought my 2008 in 2021 and have put over 25k miles on it (pushing 50k overall)... Roadliner/Stratoliner -- 2006-2014 ... Raiders were made from 2006-2017. Lots of variations out there, I'm preferential to the 'Deluxe' models with batwing fairing and maint-matched hard saddle bags (officially a factory model from 2010-2014... many, including the previous owner of my bike, used factory accessories to make their standard 'Liners in to Deluxe models. Also of course, many aftermarket batwings and bags out there. Can be hard to tell what's factory and what's not if you don't know what you're looking at (as it is with many used bikes of course). Great community of 'Liner owns all over the internet as well.
Thanks for sharing. I missed a fully faired raider a few months ago. I thigh it looked great with the front fairing.
Bought my new old stock 2007 in 2009. Got it for under $10k. Good to have a bit of money in a recession. Yes, I get snubbed, even harassed, by the H-D crowd, but I've always been a loner. I just laugh and buy them a round, because they are all $20k short.
Precisely. Boggles the mind. I've owned one electraglide and that was sufficient. Switched to a goldwing soon after. The arrogance!
I have an 08 Roadliner S with about 110k miles on her. My advice for riding on in Socal is to put a car tire on the back.
I thought darksiding was reserved only for goldwongs. You getmore contact area but the ture is stiffer and not as grippy as that of the motorcycle. Are you riding this way now and how does it affect grip and handling?
My first bike. Gonna ride it until the wheels fall off.
Good one. Enjoy it! They last forever so I hope you really love it.
These bikes benefit hugely from an Ivan's ECU flash. The typical aftermarket fuel processor doesn't hold a candle to what a flash does.
I hear that often. Thanks for sharing.
I currently have a 2008 Vulcan nomad 1600. I see a startoliner available in my area. 2013 model. Is it worth the upgrade or are these bikes very similar? My bike has 16K miles.
They are very similar but I'm always up for a change in the garage. Keeps thing exciting even if I love my current bike, I love also getting back to it in the future.
Lemon Pledge is your friend! Got my '06 Stratoliner S, 47,000 miles on it now...
What do you mean by lemon pledge?
Lemon Pledge, use it to clean the bike, works very well…
@@dangalli1 Thanks for the tip
Ok I did not see your review of the Honda VTX1800. I am torn between these two bikes and really would like your input. Which do you prefer and why?
Man, go with the Yamaha, they sound way better
To be honest, both are fantastic, reliable, fun bikes. I like the lines of the Yamaha better, purely aesthetic.
How is the wind buffeting on this at high speed? I have a V-Star 1300 and it is horrible coming up from the ground. It really wears you out at high speeds.
I did not experience anything too terrible honestly but if it's coming from down low, they do sell wind deflectors or wind blocking skirts that cover the empty space made by the engine protection cage. Look on af1 racing. For Guzzis but pretty universal I would think.
okay, got my roadliner last week, very little riding(too cold still here in quebec) got condensation in the speedometer, normal? just me? fixable? otherwise, quite the head turner😎
Congratulations. I think that is a small flaw on all of them. It's always fixable and there was a comment under this video posted about precisely that but it doesn't really cause any major issues so I left it be.
@@pegasusmotorcycletours i opened up the speedo, it was not just condensation but full on water infiltration, some circuit got some rust on it, i sealed everything with clear silicone, so far so good, did a quick job, will do a better one this winter when i take the bike apart to rebuild😎
Yamaha was putting on the teardrop on the roadster first in 2004. I have one 😅
What model?
Road Star 1600
Riding stratoliner feels like your ride a train or bull. Amazing feelings.
10 percent agreed, and thats why I filmed it next to the moving train :)
When I bought my ‘13 Roadliner I said it felt like a Bull . 🐂 85,000 Miles later still does ! and not even a hiccup ! No way Harlee can claim da same . Yamaha #1
Nick, did you say 2005 Yamaha Stratoliner? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought 2006 was the first model year of the Yamaha Stratoliner???
Hello. If I did that was a mistake because you are correct, the Stratoliner ran from 2006 on to 17.
Yes, yes it is.
I get a lot of confirmations from what seem to be very happy owners. Thank you for watching and participating in the conversation.
Donc; combien pour un modèle de 2008 environ?
These bikes go for around 4.5 grand here.
@@pegasusmotorcycletours i just bought a 2006 for $3,500 tax included ($2,999.00) canadian it has 112,518 km or 69,455 mi., your 4.5 grand is that usd funds? looking to know if i overpaid🤗
@@pegasusmotorcycletoursI am negotiating a 2014 stratoliner silver and black with 16,000 miles for $5700. But I want a red 😮😮
largest is vulcan 2000 for cruiser choppers
Actually it would be the Triumph rocket, I believe 2200cc
If it's a 12 second 1/4 mile ..it's power cruiser
I think its more about the delivery, as well as ergonomics that define that particular class. Every modern liter plus bike is going to be fast though. We gotto separate the classes by a different category. Thanks for watching.
I had a 2006, it will dust any stock HD
Thanks for watching and participating in the conversation. I tend to agree with you in that regard. I was quite disappointed at the lack of power from a Road King I recently rode. Never mind an Electra Glide.
now you need a triumph rocket
I will be sure to convey this message to my wife so that she sees there is a wider consensus about the issue of me getting another motorcycle especially one like the rocket. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
tell her since its a 2.4l its just a 2 wheeled car@@pegasusmotorcycletours
The only other bike I would seriously consider, lol. Goes good with a strat, kinda like bacon and eggs.
hemispherical? you tellin' me right there that thing got a HEMI in it??🤣🤣🤣
In engine design, the penta engine (or penta head) is an arrangement of the upper portion of the cylinder and valves that is common in engines using four valves per cylinder. Among the advantages is a faster burn time of the air-fuel mix.
It is similar in concept to the hemi engine, both in design and purpose, but a hemispherical cylinder head is limited to only two valves without the use of a more complex sub-rocker assembly.
1800 vtx is not 550 lbs. Really
Hi. I gotto find where 550 was said. The vtx is around 750curb, and the Strat 60 or so lb heavier.
The future is only for electric shorts. There will always be room for a vtwin unless the socialist environmentalists win out. My Strat is a 2007 with Freedom performance onboard. I'm 66 and still riding. Aint giving it up. The riding or the bike.
Great to hear you're sticking to the Yamaha. Thanks for sharing. Cheers. Nik
Let’s be honest the stock exhaust on these bikes are trash
Agreed. Heavy and uninspiring. My warriors had amazing pipes.
The future is not electric. Electric is an epic failure
Let's see where it takes us. For now I'm sticking with my twins
That bike can't be a 2005. These bikes didn't come out till 2006
Somewhere in the review I mispoke. Others have pointed that out. Thank you.
Waste a tire🤡
?? What do you ride?
Too much chatter, get to the main points
Thanks for the feedback
Air cooled crap. 50k and it's done. Water cooling is where it's at
Buy Honda
I don't disagree that water cooled engines last longer. I too am a fan of Hondas.
my Strat has over 74564 currently
50k and done?? BS. These big 1900s do 100k without issue. Note they are air AND oil cooled.
Built Great, Lasts Long and the Favored of V-Twin Riders. Yes Water Cooled is Nice, but these bikes will last more miles than the Rider, it also has a over temp shut off, which only reaches that temp when idling in neutral sitting still.
