    I think a reason we might never be visited by or at least communicate with aliens, is because of how rare the Sun-Earth system is in universe.

    • @bimmjim
      @bimmjim Před 23 dny +2

      The Sun-Earth system is very common in the universe.
      From our current science, there are 10^22 habitable planets in the universe.
      Why are you so silly?

    • @Bill..N
      @Bill..N Před 16 dny

      @bimmjim The commenter said sun-earth SYSTEM friend.. If you think THAT is Silly, then perhaps you are a little myopic or biased ? Whether or not a planet is within its stars' "goldilocks zone" is not the only issue.. In my humble opinion, there is a VAST array of additional factors that would nearly certainly play a necessary role for a technological species to evolve OTHER than solely simplistic numbers of stars and attendant planets.. A tiny few of those necessary configurations are: a very long-term stable environment, including the planets parent star, and the orbital mechanics of all the bodies in the system, a giant planet near the OUTSKIRTS of the system, a large moon at the right distance to stabilize the host planet, the right mix of water and land, a nearby supernova to seed the planet with critical minerals and hydrocarbons, and on and on.. I think the opening commenter was not silly at all.. Peace.

  • @Bill..N
    @Bill..N Před 23 dny +2

    I think it is almost a certainty that microbial life is abundant though out the universe which obviously includes our solar system.. It would seem to be an unreasonable chauvinistic bias to think otherwise.. Life sprang up HERE shortly (relatively speaking) after our planet cooled down.. Technological species should be quite rare due to wildly unstable environments, like ours has been..It seems likely that 10 or less technological cultures exist at any given time in our galaxy.. Unless we escape and colonize other worlds, we too will probably go extinct someday as 99.9 percent of the prior species here already have..One opinion on the matter..Peace..

    Duration of Life on Earth ~ 4 billion years. Duration of "advanced" civilization < .0000001 of that time. Crudely, 1 on 10 million planets with life will have advanced civilizations. 1 on 1 million if they manage to stay alive for 1000 years instead of 100. But how many eer make it to simple life and how many of those realized advanced forms.

    We know that there are phenomenon happening at different places nuclear bases and spots all around the world what what we don't know is whether this phenomenon is alien or terrestrial just of a different time... or maybe it is what I theorize the most likely scenario higher spatial dimensional influence... after all if we are not the highest spatial Dimension then we would expect to see the relative shape or state of the universe as flat which we do observe...

Or is Judeo Christian prophecy a patentably offensive for Biden, Newsom, the Pope or you, Keating, Carroll? 1 magnetic energy density of solar wind = (general relativity maximal power/(t_Λ(4 π l_Λ c^2)))

    Sean Carroll, I love you, so I am here to help your brilliant mind get brilliantier (French). I would say the year a motion camera was invented, motion studio opened, and movie presented at a world fair year. all in a year, anything else happen suddenly around that exact time that seems sus, or was everyone taking their idea for a new product to invent help. It went from tying keys onto kites to this magnificent channel. For it Tis not possible to explain the unexplainable it mustn't. California was empty not long ago and now all those miners are mincrafters. IDK

    Brian, the reasonable scientific theist, always, with the intended to disprove the possibility of life elsewhere. “ there’s no proof of life anywhere else, but earth, not even in our own solar system.” he says that even though we have little to no data points. You can’t look at one grain of sand and say there’s no white on the beach. We have yet to go to the most interesting places in our own backyard.
    Brian is pretty transparent in that he wants to buffer this notion to defend his theist views. It doesn’t matter what the guest speaker says, he goes right back into his typical talking points. “It wouldn’t change anything”
    The world is a very different place now, first of all. Do the social media many more people would become aware of such a discovery, and said, discovery would most likely have better confirmation with where we plan to go in the technology. We have now to confirm it. At the time of that announcement, anecdotally, speaking, most the people I knew were very skeptical. It was also proven very wrong very quickly. At that time, the type of people that actually knew about it, were the same type of people that would look into the results.
