    UPDATE: Four days ago I installed the Nilight 9005 hi/low bean (same one's in this video) on my 22 Kona N Line. I've had NO ISSUES and NO ERROR Codes... Lights look great and are much brighter and better than the Halogen. It took me maybe 15 mins to do both... Follow the instructions on this video and you won't have an issue... BTW, the halogen bulbs that come equipped in the Kona are 9005. You'll see this number on the bulbs that you remove...

    When you install these make sure that the LED's point to the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock position or they will not give you the best light. When I installed mine it took a few tries before I figured this out.

      Wiiliam just looked at your video with interest. Have a question if you can give your opinion on my 2019 Kona with halogen light units but have fitted uo with a set of Novsight N63's LED's - which are 1-1 plug & play with no fan or adjustable ring. But bulb and holder are turned into locking collar the bulb sits at 5to & 25mins past - if turned back for 9&3' position the bulb would fall out. Have contact Novsight and they say its OK??? - any idea or have you come across this with similar type bulbs on a 2019 Kona with H7 bulbs. Thanks

    I'm not sure if I'll get these or a different one, but the last ones I put in also had great reviews and one just burned out. So tomorrow the stock bulbs are going back in, which sucks. The other thing that sucks is the light output for the Kona headlights. One bulb for low/hi is a really bad design. High beams don't actually give you more light, it just raises the light, so you get the same amount that was out front up higher, and what was higher is now what you see out front. I'm going to have to put a light bar on the front because it's just terrible at night. And no fog lights because more and ore manufacturers are saying fog isn't a thing any more, even though it is.

    I am just curious. How did high/low beam work with a 9005 which is a single "filament" (single circuit) bulb? Usually when I had car equipped with 9005 bulbs, they had 4x bulbs (4x 9005) where 2x were low and 2x were high. How did it work in the Kona, is there an actuator or something that retract for high beam?

      these are combined low and high beams on the 2022-2023 model years. It's just one bulb for the two lights. You might want to check for low and high beam bulbs if you have a 2021 and less model year.

    I have made the switch yesterday on my Kona EV 2023. The new LEDs (Ignite 9005) are so much better than the halogen. I just have one question regarding the presence of heat sink and anti-flicker modulator. The one I have installed had only passive heatsink (i.e., no fan) and no external modulator, like the one you have initially installed in your video (Nilight 9005). Did you or anyone else have issue with LED lights with passive heatsink overheating and for the absence of external anti-flickers module?

    • @williamyqb
      @williamyqb  Před 10 měsíci

      I hope someone on here help you out François since I've always had fans on my LEDs

    • @ftrembla
      @ftrembla Před 10 měsíci

      I did some more search on LED headlights and found some answers. First, regarding the temperature, LEDs are inherently 'cooler' by design than halogen. One guy tested the temperature of LEDs vs. Halogen and the later can reach up to 450 C whereas LEDs (pick any brands) will go typically >150 C (see czcams.com/video/YMxLhQtwB7I/video.htmlsi=eU2csmWre13qbqf7). So even with passive heatsink, overheating should not be a problem when switching from Halogens to LEDs. Now, regarding the presence of external modules. Manufacturers of LEDs lights now produce LEDs with integrated modules at the base to save space. So, if your LEDs lights work on your car without external box, then it has an integrated module.

      @brian5032 Před rokem

      I installed these on a 2022 Kona so I am not sure exactly what is causing this but on mine I found I installed the LED's incorrectly as they need to point to the 3 o'clock position and 9 o'clock position for the best light. Any other position gives off less light as it's not reflected properly. Hope that helps.
