- It IS possible to stand for your marriage alone.
Now, it might seem impossible, it might seem crazy, (and you might not know where to start)
but it can just take one spouse wanting to save the marriage to actually start saving the marriage.
But you can’t stay where you are- you need to stand. You need to be strong and grounded even when life doesn’t go your way; even if your spouse is cold or distant. You need to do something to create change- even just within yourself.
But what more can you do? Where do you start!?

Start by knowing you can’t “force” your spouse to change. Start by getting up and focusing on what you can do to move forward. Yes, your marriage is important- we believe this wholeheartedly and want to help you save your marriage- but it is not the only thing that brings value to your life. You are still a father, mother, son, daughter, friend, co-worker, boss. Don’t forget that there are people that need you.
When you’re only focused on what’s going wrong…when you’re anxious, when you’re depressed, you can lose sight of people around you and you can lose sight of what you can start doing.
The people we’ve worked with who have SAVED their marriage had one thing in common: one spouse wanted out of the marriage but the other spouse, wanting to save it:
-stuck with it long enough
-was willing to make changes,
- and made changes within themself
One spouse was willing to do these things and made it possible for the two of them to come back together.
Here’s what you can do starting today.
Get calm so you won’t react in a frazzled state and remove all of the negative influences in your life (people, social media.)

Get ready for change to happen. Hopefully in your marriage, but definitely in yourself. Believe that it is possible & believe that it is worth it… that there’s hope, that there’s a future. And, make a way for change to happen. It will be painful- it may be the worst thing you’ve gone through, but use the situation to grow; to become a better person. Become someone who GROWS during hardship- a new, better person, and hopefully a better marriage.

There are multiple good suggestions in this video. It occurred to me that one thing that can change us most and that leads us to do the things she has mentioned here is charity-- selfless love: "charity suffereth long, and is kind... seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil...hopeth all things, endureth all things". I am still in the middle of my own crisis, but as she said, I know that at least I have changed. My love for God and others is increasing. I have realized that past mistakes and problems with handling things is that I have been focused on myself rather than them.
I am praying for my marriage daily..she just ended it 2 weeks ago... I know praying is what I need to do ,we all need to pray for what we want God to do a work in but like a farmer praying for rain is not enough without preparing that field with seeds first ... if we really expect God to do a work in our marriage we must prepare while praying..is there anything God cant fix if we prepare the way as we ask for his help daily.. and then we must say to him God even if my marriage doesn't succeed to where I want it I will still follow you lord.. because in the light of Eternity these worldly things won't matter either way.. most important thing we need to do right now is work on pleasing the God who made you..

My husband left me a couple weeks ago he suffers with PTSD and other trauma related disorders. He always says it’s me but in my heart I know it’s his own pain and trauma. I am working on myself and trying to be the wife he needs me to be to deal with all of this but it is so hard when he thinks getting away from a 30 year marriage is the only answer. I’m giving him space and it’s so hard, we have leaned on one and other for everything for so long. My daughter is 14 and it’s just so hard to watch her go through this with us. Please pray for our family. I do believe we will be reconciled, it’s just so hard in the meantime

I have been dealing with the temptation to just give up since he left. I don’t want that. I don’t want my marriage to end. I’m glad that I came across this video, I was so selfish in my marriage with my goals and made my wife feel inadequate. We are now separated, but through this month in a half of separation and reflection I realized that I was in the wrong and I want to save my marriage. Today starts when I choose to stand for my marriage when everything feels so hopeless and impossible.
Listening to these gives me hope. Even if it's unrealistic hope, I'll take whatever keeps me from giving up on my life.
I needed to hear the lady's story today. My situation really feels hopeless. My wife recently told me some very hurtful things on top of reminding me of many of the bad things i did. My situation isnt even as bad as some of these stories, but my wife wants nothing to with reconciliation. It hurts and im doing my best to stand for my marriage, but some days i feel i juat cant go on.
After watching this video I realized how selfish I was. My wife is terrible with money, but she is my wife. I gave her an allowance. I now realized how demeaning that was to her.
That allowance started pushing her away.
I'll put to work the other suggestions and update this post.

Not giving up on my marriage but it feels like I'm fighting a losing battle
I'm 6 months in and so far the worst parts are waiting, loneliness in the bed, fighting the thoughts of what "they" are doing, talking with her on the phone and hearing him right next to her, most of the time she won't talk unless her AP is right there, and more waiting.

wow, I'm going through this right now, I am 40 years old and have been with my wife since i was 17.5 years old, 6 months ago she tells me she wants to separate, I went ape shit ,because I have been with her 22.5 years and my identity is tied to her, i have no idea how to move forward and i do not want to i still love her and have feelings for her, is been 6 months and 6 days, i am very depressed and have lost 59lbs, we communicate because of the kids, but it is the worst thing I have ever gone through, my life seem awesome before all this, life was great. now I'm lost without her and want happiness again in my life but it doesn't seem possible.

Been married for over 3 years. My wife filed for divorce while being deployed. I’m standing for my marriage. It’s hard. I’m not going to lie. Brings me to tears each time I hear the story of the one that waited 4 years. Standing is hard, long at times but I know it will be worth it. This may seem weird but I love my H more each day during my stand.

My wife took my whole life, my kids, her side of the family, all my money, I saw last week she’s already selling anniversary jewelry I bought her, left every gift I made or gave her since highschool and left it all in a storage unit we share out of town 13:01

I have had an affair, I have lied, I have cheated. We "worked" past it then everything became an issue. She finally asked for space. Found out she is now seeing another guy. I am changing, found my religion again, seeing a therapist. I am changing to be a better man, I am changing to be the man she and my kids deserve. My husband has been in another state living with this women for 4 months now and I am working on myself but when he does text or I text back about finances or the dog he is still short and cold. The girlfriend is still playing games on social media as well but I ignore it. I pray multiple times a day for him to come home
