- In March of 2006, a doting mother by the name of Marilyn Ginel would fall victim to ultimate betrayal, with her life brutally taken as her children watched in horror. Twelve years later history would repeat, when her oldest daughter, Lisa Marie Velasquez, would suffer a very similar fate while trying to protect a woman she thought was her friend. Within hours, that same "friend" would be helping her boyfriend scatter Lisa's body parts throughout the Bronx after they took her life in cold blood and tried to cover it up. Thank you to Marilyn's old friend Lynn, and Marilyn's daughter and, sister of Lisa, Vanessa Velasquez for the photos and information they've provided, as well as blessing to put this video out. My heart and condolences go out to this family and all of their loved ones. This is their story. Ciara Martinez is currently a free woman. Daquan Wheeler will be eligible for parole in July of 2046. He should never go free. Robert Coakley is eligible for parole in March of 2031 and Maria Coakley was released in 2010. They should never be free.

I went out with one. I was pregnant and he was very supportive. After I lost the baby, he became very abusive. I was able to get a studio apartment for myself, but he weaseled his way in, then he started stealing the money for rent, and he started to physically abuse me.
I “lost” who I was, and I became afraid to leave him. He literally locked me in a basement. It was a bit over 3 months until my mom and younger sister rescued me. I was pounding on death’s door when they found me.
I “found” myself again, and I refused to let any other man put their hands on me. I understand how many women can fall for these psychopaths, but the second they put their hands on the women and/or their children, they need to leave. There are a lot more places that offer help to the abused than 30 years ago.

I had to drop a real good friend that was in a dv situation and didn’t tell me. She took me to her bf’s house where he beat her and I had to jump in and swing on him as much as I could to stop him but it didn’t work. I called 911 across the street and the police came and my friend said he never laid hands on her. That’s when I knew I couldn’t help her past that.

Towards the end of the video when Ciara was speaking from what looks like the hallway of the courthouse it seems to me she was way more concerned about the fact that the case was over and she could move on with her life than the fact that she participated in the dismemberment of Lisa Marie. No where did I sense remorse or sadness she actually seemed happy that she could resume her life. I didn't hear any apologies to the family. She was more concerned about herself and getting on with her life. Well, the prosecution is over but she still has to live with what she did on her conscious.

I use to frown when my dad would tell me "you have no friends". Now I see what he meant. This woman put her "friend" in danger by involving her in her toxic relationship and all she says is I'm clear and free. No remorse or compassion for someone who literally put their life on the line for her. Ladies stay away from women like this. They will almost always stay with the man, leaving your family to grieve over your lost life. The best thing you can do for women like Ciara is call the police and give her dv resources.

I live in walking distance from crotona park, this area is the worst and I remember this case. Senseless act and that woman should claiming to be her friend should still be in prison. If it wasn't for their friendship this woman would still be here smh
My mother went to the mothers funeral back in 2006. She was her co workers sister. Ill never forget. R.I.P Also I remember hearing of Lisa’s case few yrs back. May God rest their souls eternally🙏🏿
Everyone in this story sucked except for Lisa, her siblings and her grandmother. You could tell Lisa truly was such a kind, warm person just by looking at her photos. Beautiful inside and out. A life taken way too soon. Think of all the good she would have continued doing. So tragic 😢

Reminding us that the people in these stories are human. The way they died should not overshadow who they were. I was actually a little sympathetic to Ciara until that very last clip showing her leaving the court house. It was cold. She was only worried about herself. She didn't even mention Lisa. No I'm sorry, nothing. May the universe take care of her and Maria in the most unforgiving way. I pray those paroles never go through and Daquan and Robert suffer tremendously for what they have done.

Good Evening Jose.. I do remember the case of Lisa. And the case of her mother sounds slightly familiar. However, the fate that both Marilyn and Lisa suffered is an overwhelmingly strong example of how bizarre and in this case terrifyingly unexpected life can be. RIP Marilyn and Lisa.

I think the way to stop it is to make young ones understand that bullying and crossing boundaries is unacceptable. But we as a society have a long way to go. 💝😮💨

Wow. I mentioned these 2 cases on the Wanda Rodriguez video. This hits really close to home because Lisa and her siblings moved in with their grandmother after Marilyns tragedy. Their grandmother lived in the same building me and my family lived in while I was a kid. I would see Lisa go to the explorers program. My mom helped Lisa get unstuck from the elevator one day. There was one day I had went to visit my family and i just had a sense of dread and doom and anxiety as I was in the neighborhood. I thought something bad was going to happen to someone in the neighborhood. Two weeks after getting that feeling, Lisa's remains were found. I was in shock.
They both should never be released from prison I can't believe they allowed the so called friend out for a plea deal .

I don't know why the judge let that horrible go without time. She is disgusting. She should be in jail rotting like she did to the friend whom she knew had been through it with her mom's life being taken.As an advocate these stories gut me. I have known of so many friends and family coming to the aid of victims and the friends don't leave and the one trying to help gets harmed.I am not saying you shouldn't help but be careful.

This was so heartbreaking. Two lives lost over senseless BS. It's disgusting that the two female killers are free while the men are still locked up and hopefully will never be released. It was up to me, all four would have gotten the Death Penalty. Once again, Mr. Ortiz your care, compassion for the victims, and her family shine once again. These cases are interesting especially, dealing with domestic abuse. Why do people with good 💕 tend to suffer from people that they are trying to help. Witnessing tragedy at young age has to be traumatic when witnessing a family member because of betryel and domestic abuse. Condolences to Lisa and Marilyn. Watching these cases is teaching me valuable lessons of be careful who let into your life because not everyone has good intentions for you. 💯
