I marbled Christmas ornaments, most of which will have glitter added to the inside. I also marbled a wooden letter and wine glasses.
I use acrylic paint floating on water to perform this ancient art form.
Please let me know if you have any questions or want to try marbling for yourself. I do offer some of the supplies and even a "try it" kit, just see my website! Watch for an online class in the near future!

Hello, new girl here, Vicki. You are amazing.
Thank you for watching!
Hello from Texas
Hi from Idaho! Thank you for watching!
Pink and black
New to try this. Could you use the ready to pour paints ?
Also are you just taking acrylic paints & adding bottled water to thin then dripping into the water to make the spots to which you spin & dip an ornament or wine glass into? Trying to grasp the whole concept. Would love to try these options you do & maybe some vases? Thanks for any & all info & tips. Love how these look & turned out!
Thank you for watching. Pouring paints would not work directly from the bottle. I'm not sure they would work even if they were thinned. I've never tried them. Each type of paint and color has to be prepared individually, as the formulas for each brand and each color within a brand are different. I do offer a basic booklet on water marbling. It can be found here: aqueoussilkllc.etsy.com/listing/981954510
Teal and light blue
I'll remember that for next week! Thank you!
Could you show what you dry your wine glasses on? I’m new and want to learn this technique. I’ve done paint pouring on ornaments and had good luck with them. Thank you
Thank you for watching! I use a floral frog to set my glassware on to dry. If you google "floral frog" it will give you images.
Is the technique, to prep the bulbs different for glass vs shatterproof. Also, how do you prep your wine glasses/ vases before marbling?
Thank you for watching. I prep every item with Alum before marbling.
Also, do you have to use newspaper between color combos or can you use magazine pages or just paper towels ?
You can use magazine pages if they are not glossy. Whatever you use, it must absorb the paint left on the surface. I don't use paper towels very often because it absorbs a lot more of the water. Seaweed powder is quite expensive and I want the water to last as long as possible.
How are your paints mixed for this technique? How is your solution mixed and where do you buy the items? Also, how are your items prepared for marbling?
I offer a basic book about water marbling and a marbling kit that has all the supplies you need to learn water marbling. All available at www.etsy.com/shop/AqueousSilkLLC
Could you use a stick inserted inside the ornament to make it easier to dip and then stick it in styrofoam to dry? I used something like poster putty to make it easy to hold ornaments on the stick.
I do use a stick usually. Sometimes I don't have the correct sized stopper to keep the ornament on the stick. :)
Hi I am new I like your work and I want to know what paint you use , acrylic? What’s is alum you need it any time? Thank you.
Thank you for watching! I use many brands of acrylic paints. Alum is what I use to prep each item for marbling. It helps the paint adhere crisply to the item being marbled.
Do you use a certain type of paint?
Thanks for watching! I use acrylic paint.
New to this. Do uou thin or eater foen your psint and fo you rver use indian ink? Thank you
Thank you for watching. I sometimes thin the paint, other times I do not - depends on the paint. I also have used acrylic ink in the past.
Can you use this technique on watercolor paper?
Thank you for watching. I have not had success, but others have. My favorite is mulberry paper or a heavy rice paper.
How deep is the water?
What brand of acrylic paint do you use?
I use several different kind. You can use any acrylic paint or even acrylic ink.
What do you use to thin out the paint?
Thank you for watching. :) Distilled water.
How do you prepare the ornaments? Soak them in alum? Wash with alcohol?
I clean them with alcohol, let them dry thoroughly, then spray them with alum.
@@aqueoussilkllc9654 Thank you so much
Depois q seca passa verniz de spray ?
@@marilenacamargo84 I seal with epoxy.
My name is Lillian, I’m new to your videos
Thank you for watching!
Hot pink and black
Thank you for watching! I love that color combination!!
Can these marbled glasses make it through the dishwasher?
Unfortunately, no; they must be hand washed.
Lastly…what epoxy for the wine glasses?
There are any number you can use. I always prefer to use a food-safe epoxy on all of my items.
Can you drink out of the wine glasses once they are marbled ?
Thank you for watching. Yes, I use a food-safe epoxy to cover the marbling, so it can be used and washed.
What type epoxy for the wine glasses too? Thanks
Why do you only do 3 ornaments of each color? Could you match colors if people wanted more than just 3 of any color?
Sorry, I just saw this. I can do any number in nearly any color, I just think 3 makes a nice small set. Thank you very much for watching. 🙂
What do you use to seal these?
Thank you for watching. I use a spray sealer.
@@aqueoussilkllc9654 Thanks so much for Your reply..
Where do you buy the alum
I have several options for alum as there are various suppliers. I don't know what would be available in your area.

PRETTY, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE A WASTE OF PAINT!
Thank you for watching. Yes, it was a bit of a waste, but I didn't have anything prepared to print in the excess. Sometimes I do!
