    Super helpful video! Saves me from randomly sliding for ages trying to get the right look

      Glad you think so, Sam. Exactly what I hoped to achieve with this one.

    Your explanations are super simple and easy to understand. I couldn't solve keyshot before i found your videos, but finally i am raising my render level with your help. Thanks for that.

    Precise explanation! Although I was sliding left & right to get the perfect result, your explanation adds science to it! Thank you :)

    Notice this node in your recent video, really advanced the shading since I started to learn how to use it. Thank you for in-deep explanation!

    This should be a cue to have a curve graph in KeyShot 9. Nice work!

    Many thanks. Some minutes ago it was absolutely hermetic issue - and after some minutes it is absolutely clear (if someone is familiar with Photoshop). BTW I gues the example presented here would be a good one to explain what Fresnel effect is.

    thanks Esben, this was very helpful. If possible please make a video series for all the utilities available int the material editor. Thanks :)

    Great explanation! Thanks! Could you explain how to use Curve or Map types of Color Gradient texture(maybe others too, although they are pretty clear)? Couldn't find any information on the Internet how they work.

    Could you maybe also do a video about the Bump Add node please?
    Whenever I'm stacking bump maps I feel like I'm constantly having to adjust the amount of bump on all textures each time I add a Bump Add node. It kinda makes sense, because its a 50/50 blend ... but I haven't found good weight or ratio settings that work consistently...

    • @esbenoxholm
      @esbenoxholm  Před 5 lety

      Yeah, I experienced that once when I added a ton of bump maps. Usually I'm not using more than three at the time, so the issues is not so big here. How many bump maps are you typically using?

    • @japanepemapan
      @japanepemapan Před 5 lety

      @@esbenoxholm thx for the reply! I usually have 3 or 4 bump maps for complex materials. First I finetune scale and bump height for each one individually. Then I apply all at once using bump add nodes ...and then things look wrong. I think the solution is in the weight ratios (like e.g. double the weight for each stack of bump add nodes), but I haven't found the 'magic settings' yet (:

      Thanks! While a kinda knew what was going on I didn't have a good way to visualize it. Just realized yesterday from a random Photoshop tutorial that the curves adjustment graph would be perfect :p
