I honestly find VR to be life changing. It makes all my computer and console games....obsolete. It also makes my TV and phone somewhat useless as well.
You're right it is the best way to watch youtube especially if you use the vr content but it get more and more uncomfortable the longer you're doing it.
I was also gifted a quest 2 a while ago. I like it quite a bit, I've got severe Crohn's so it helps me stay active. I use it about 50% of the time because sometimes I'm just too tired to play or even wear the headset. Motion sickness can be mitigated, lots of settings for it. Also some games just feel better than others. My brain had an easier time in vehicles at first. I guess the visual context of a vehicle is what made it better.
If you use it a couple of hours a week get a quest 2.....if you use it a few hours every day.....get a quest 3. The increase in resolution will make everything easier.
I would suggest Trover Saves the Universe. Rick & Morty is probably good too. Pixel Ripped 1978, 1989, and 1995! It's just like playing video games in those years. and Among Us.
Yes and no. The Quest allows you to play Xbox One via Xbox Cloud streaming Window floating in front of you, or PC games in a the same way. Thus, you could play Call of Duty as if you were playing it on a big ass floating screen. However, Call of Duty doesn't natively support VR, and to be honest if you were to play it in VR it'd be a really shit experience because it's just not fun enough as a VR title. Instead, there is a game called *Contractors* it's very much based on VR so you get all the fun things like being able to move around, look around corners, pick up and use guns like you would in real life with your hands. As well as it's own game play and maps, it also supports custom maps so you can play identical looking maps in the game from COD. Rust, Terminal, Downfall, Pine etc.
Yo if you're looking for another possible recommendation and you play on PC then Pavlov is an incredibly solid VR fps. It's much more like Counter Strike than call of duty but does support gun game as a flagship pvp mode and you can even play call of duty Zombies maps in coop. All native VR.

Battery only lasts 90 min on my son's Quest. He can't be in there too long.

As good as vr headsets are they are still too heavy.
Getting one with a weight on the back evens it out. Plus I'm a guy that wears motorcycle helmets for 12 hours a day sometimes.
