I Tried Convertible High Heels 👠

- EDIT: reviewing the instructions, we did use the shoe correctly - for the d'orsay shoe and the bootie, the base plates (the thing that fell off in the beginning) were removed before making them flats, and the instructions didn't include anything about a second other base plate! everything that came in the box was used in the video - there may be other parts available separately or potentially there's a different convertible shoe company that includes a flat base plate? although, apparently the shoes may flatten over time!!
today we tried convertible heels from Pashion Footwear! there was a bit of a learning curve when it came to taking the heels on and off but i ended up getting the hang of it. the shoes with heels on felt like a pretty normal pair of shoes, but the shoes in their flat form were a little more… elf chic. overall though these were super fun and i can see the use if you need flats fast - kind of like high heels with an emergency exit.

There is another brand- Vice Versa- I think they’re more expensive and there’s not as many options (though Pashion is always out of stock) but IMO they look like they might work better. Try them out?
Hi! Just a note - we just had a major restock (so we won't be so sold out now - yay!)💕
They DO flatten out over time! My closet is manly stocked with these and within a few weeks of normal use they look and feel just like regular flats. 100% recommend 👌
How long did yours take to arrive cause I’m waiting on my order I placed in MAY still. And every time I contact customer service I just get “they’re coming!” Thankfully our Vegas trip I bought them for was cancelled or I’d have had no shoes and would have had to panic buy something uncomfortable on Amazon
@maddalenasegato I'm ready to be invested because I love heels but I'd rather have 4 different styles and base colours and just switch out the heels for different occasions and days. And then when I travel, I just bring one pair of shoes and as many heels as I see fit. Better than shoving 3 pairs in a full suit case again lmao
"High heels with an emergency exit." I absolutely love that statement, and that is now how I will forever think of any convertible heel/flat shoe.
Honestly same... The amount of times I've ended up barefoot after a long day out in heels; in not so barefoot safe spaces.
I tend to carry flippy-flops as a back up. The switched out heels will take up much less space in a purse.
Came here to say this
I think that statement should be the selling point. As in these shoes should not be the main thing of your outfit if it was flats, instead turn it into flats when you want to rest or have a walk after the event
Realistically that's how they should work. You use the heel at the beginning of the night, get pictures, doing your thing. Then when your feet get tired or you're a little too drunk for the heels you convert. Although i would just take another pair of shoes to change into.
That statement saved these shoes for me tbh
bro really woke up and chose elf

honestly heels with an emergency exit sounds good enough to me for a night out. the heels would fit just fine in a purse and you wont care about "elf" vibes after a long party!
YESSS - Our convertible heels were absolutely made to be amazing + comfy heels with a built-in back-up shoe (but don't get us wrong, we still love wearing our flats, too!).
Given places like Hollywood and Las Vegas Blvd have vending machines that will sell you the thinnest rollup flats for $30+ just so you don't walk home barefoot cause your probibly pricey clubbing heels are murder.... These seem far smarter. FOr the exact reasons you gave
@@mousepariah3884 $30+ 💀 ik that convenience always prices stuff up. But like how much does a normal shoe cost in that area?
Yes or us who wear “commuting shoes” on trains and subways and have to change shoes upon arrival at work.
True. They could be just a Tad higher, line 2cm or something, and would instantly look less wonky and still basically fulfill the function of being mostly flat and stable.
But the concept in and of itself is pretty genius.
"they're just a little... **elf hand gesture** " 😂 real

Just a little 🧝🏻♀️
These are “I’m too drunk for these heels” shoes. Perfect!
But if you’re too drunk for heels, do you still have the dexterity to swap out the heels?
I love the idea of them starting as a high heel and swapping the flats as your day/date/night progresses. So much better than going barefoot thru the parkinglot!
😂 No you didn't just say that 🤣🤣🤣
@@GingerNinja1 ?
I heard they “flatten out over time,” so I would love a long form video of Saf testing these to see if they actually improve.
ok i will try and break them in!
@@safiya Yay thank you for the great content, wish you all the best!
plastic shoes, or any shoes, shouldnt need to break to be useful
I feel like as they flatten over time they would be terrible heels.
I've had a pair for months and worn them a LOT, they definitely flatten out over time and are easier to walk in as flats while still being comfy as heels!
The idea of going to weddings and having the heel for the pictures and the flat for the rest is honestly amazing.
My sister did just that at the last wedding we went to
Bringing along sneakers to dance in is normal practice, when my family goes to weddings
Bu why cant you go with flat shoes to the wedding ?
And they have special deals for weddings too
@@liabstrait8306coz flats ruin the aesthetic of your outfit especially if you’re wearing a dress (which most women do at weddings). Heels elevate your outfit but come at the cost of killing your feet in a few hours. These shoes are a win coz you get the best of both worlds
Okay but can we appreciate that smoothly executed video loop like A1 editing right there
That was def top tier
Sounds chronically online.
For people who live in a big city, these would be awesome. Walking 8-10 blocks (equivalent of a mile) in flats and switching to the heel when you get to the office sounds great.❤ It would have kept me from keeping a pair of flats in my purse for "on the go" swapping when my feet got too tired living in the city.
Absolutely
They DO flatten out over time! My closet is manly stocked with these and within a few weeks of normal use they look and feel just like regular flats. 100% recommend 👌
can you like swap heels between models? like use the boots heels with the scarpins? that would be cool
@@giualonsoyes. The company shows that on their TikTok :)
I do that with my pair haha, I have one pair that I bought a few different heels for - makes it so fun XD @@giualonso
Once they r flats can they be heels again or no?
@@Cutiejuliyayes of course!
Honestly, "high heels with an emergency exit" is an amazing product in and of itself. Nearly every girl at a highschool dance brings heels, and by the end of the night 50% of them either go barefoot or switch into backup shoes, so this function would be useful for beginner high heel users.
the "roll up ballet flats" that evry girl had shoved in her purse when clubbing in the 2000s to use as an emergency exit was such a vibe. Then having to buckle the straps of your actual heels to your handbag or around your wrist to walk home in the flats 😆
@@AreilKnightpeople actually had them?
@SaheeliRai I have seen such in Zara from 2005 until 2010. I wish I bought them (I was too young then to appreciate them) and that they still exist. I have been wearing shoes with a heel since I was 8 years old and back then they were more comfortable than they are now.
@@SaheeliRai ya I remember as a kid walmart sold ballet flats my mom bought them and I wore them as regular shoes if I didn't wanna out on sneakers
@@margaritanoir agree when I went to a school choir I wore heels for over a hour and I felt nothing cause they actually supported the foot now the don't
lmao Safiya's hand movement when she said "just a little ✋⤴" imitating the elf ear-ed shoe, I rewatched just for that it cracked me up
Thats the biggest problem with convertible heels - dealing with the shank (the part under the arch of your foot). Heels need support, which doesn't translate well to flats. Easy conversion usually results in a soft shank, which does not provide the needed support for wearing heels.
Thats what the added plate is for. To add support
@@GachaWolf81900sounds too fiddly at that point.
The creator was on Shark Tank and didn’t get a deal, but she has been killing it recently!
She's great on tiktok!
I follow her on TikTok! Her shoes look pretty comfy
I saw her shark tank video. The guys were bitches to her. But she was sweet and stood strong on her beliefs.
@@PorcupineTheOneandOnly yeah the only thing i agreed with is when one of the ladies said it was uncomfortable. but they were completely bashing the idea and i was just like.... no.. the market is absolutely there you all are just out of touch!
So so sweet + awesome to hear that convertible heels are truly in demand! Plus, we just have to note, the Sharks tried out our original design ("Pashion 1.0") and we've since upgraded the fit, function, and comfortability of our shoes in our new "Pashion 2.0" design!

Pulling these out at a wedding reception. Gonna outshine the bride
Hi Safiya! We are so excited that you tried out our convertible heels - our shoes are absolutely heels with an escape hatch! Our shoe soles are made with materials similar to that of athletic shoes, crafted to be flexible and super comfy, and will flatten out with wear (we usually recommend a week's worth of wear as flats for them to really "break in") 💕 So glad you loved them!
(sorry I know this is not really the place...) However, such a great idea! I've looked to purchase your shoes a few times but they're always out of stock! Do you not stock the larger foot sizes on the website or are all shoes custom order? I've looked at a few styles but none are ever in stock 🥲
@@Ellla347 Hey girl! We just restocked a bunch of shoes in all of our sizes (5-11) and we have new shoes coming in the next couple months! Love that you love Pashions and hope to see you in a pair soon 🥰
@@pashionfootwear Amazing thank you! I'll have another browse 🥰
@@pashionfootwearlike Ella I’ve always been interested in these and I’m so happy to hear you carry up to size 11, as a size 10 gal finding cute shoes in my size is borderline impossible sometimes and to find almost specialty shoes like this is a rare win, thank you :)
@@psychedelicadhesive right?? I was going to thank them for carrying larger sizes too, as a girl who ranges from size 8 to size 11 in my shoes, most depending on if they can house my weird toe shape (size 8 pointy shoes kind of work because my toes fill the space. Square toes need about an 11 to not hang over though, with an empty triangle of space above the little toes.
These are definitely made to go out in! At the end of the night you won't need to be walking without shoes because you can just switch them into a funky flat shoe to walk home😂
We just used to put a pair of ballet shoes in our bag and would change into those if we need to.
@@louisejohnson6057 thats so smart!
@@louisejohnson6057 Yeah, with my feet, that was never a good option. My feet desperately need more cushion than any ballet slipper ever had. I have to add inserts to every pair of shoes, which means those shoes will only fit in my bag if it's of the "overnight" size.
Gone are the days of ending up barefoot! 😌
See I just don't understand this. If heels are so uncomfortable you can't wear them, then don't. It's possible to get comfortable heels, buy those instead of the latest cheap fashion trend
I swear, you wouldn't think about how it looks like elf shoes at the end of the day when you're already exhausted and all
I have a pair of these from the same brand and walking in them as flats is a little weird at first but I wear them as flats way more often because I only walk in the heels for a full 20 minutes before ditching them for the flats. I honestly love them
I follow the creator on TikTok…pretty cool shoes! And yes they are meant to be “flats in case of emergency,” like after a night out and can’t take the heels anymore kinda thing.
So so cool to see our TikTok friends over here on CZcams, too! 👋🏼
I have two pairs and I love them.
So glad you are loving your Pashions 😊🥰@@lefish5277
I have emergency foldable flats. I wonder if it’s just easier to change into them instead of swapping out a heel
so why do you even wear heels in the first place ?
I recently bought a pair of these for a wedding! They were honestly ideal, as someone who doesn't wear heels much and didn't want to carry a whole second pair of shoes with me to dance in
So happy to hear you loved your convertible heels! Truly a wedding lifesaver, right?!
@@pashionfootwear Saved my feet and made me look extremely cool in front of all of the other women. They were all big fans
Finally, socially acceptable for the workplace elf shoes!
"High heels with an emergency exit" is f😂king ✨️*_flawless._* ✨️
this is exactly what i've been saying about "convertible" shoes since they started marketing them. you can't make a high heel shoe with a sturdy sole that actually supports the foot that can flatten enough to be comfortable and not weird looking as a flat. you just can't. the only way to make a true convertible shoe would be making the sole super flexible which would mean zero support when on a high heel.
But with the additional base plate would that not make it more sturdy?
@@lana87765 for the shoe to be actually supportive the base plate would have to go all the way from the tip of the shoe to the heel, otherwise a part of the shoe would be flappy and thus not stable enough to be safe. is it doable? yes. but it defeats the purpose of quick and convenient convertible shoe. it would also NOT flatten all the way unless the base plate was completely removable (which is my main point against realistic convertible shoes) because in order for a high heel shoe to work you NEED a curved sole towards the tip. this is inherently incompatible with a flat shoe.
the sturdy sole that is present in conventional high heel shoes and that goes from the tip to the heel is necessary to keep your foot in the right position for walking. if whichever part of that sole is soft your foot will have to maintain the position by flexing the muscles which will amplify strain. if you added a base plate between the heel and the ball of your foot, you would still have to make sure that your toes are bent upwards by flexing them constantly.
creating a convertible shoe that has the sturdy curved part available for support when in the "high heel" position but is also capable of completely flattening when the high heel is removed would mean a ballet flat with a soft sole that comes with a removable curved sole with a high heel that you can snap onto the shoe. this, again, defeats the purpose of a convertible shoe.
you can't make a convertible shoe that simply pops up a heel like it's a bicycle kickstand that is both flexible enough to be comfortable as a flat and supportive as a high heel.
Right, people don’t understand good high heels will have a steel shank to support your arch to help distribute the weigh on your foot.
@@lana87765the plate makes it sturdy as a heel, but it doesn’t give it the flexibility as a flat shoe to not curve up like elf shoes
I kind of feel like it needs a certain kind of “ bend and snap”material. Kinda like whatever the material is that they used to use for hair-agami’s back in the day but sturdier. (P.S Excuse my not initially intended legally blond reference! 😂 )
sounds like the solution to "god these heels are killing me i'll just go barefoot"
Honestly, the love and dedication that is put in each and every video, is absolutely inspirational! I'm always left in awe watching them! Keep up the incredible work! ❤
The loop transition was perfect
I have several pairs of these! They break in after a bit but I use a little 1” “flat” cap versus the totally flat one to give the toes a little less “elf” look.
agree that the sock bootie shoe is the better of the two!!
How water resistant is it. Having a hole like that seems like if it was raining youd have water get in easy
I think these are a fantastic option for weddings. Have a nice heel for the ceremony and then be able to take them off and boogie during the reception! No one will notice your elf toe while you’re busting a move!
And if you have something floor length it would cover them
Just FYI when you have your wedding dress tailored the bottom will be hem to barley kiss the floor, if the dress drags on the floor by much (especially a few inches) it will be very hard to walk (or dance) in. It’s best to wear the same shoes all day, so if you’re not someone who can wear heels for for 10 hours, it’s best to wear flats from start to finish.
I say embrace the elf toe, could make for some great pics 😆
I will say I know I’m thinking about getting a pet pair for the sole purpose of an elf costume
I actually think the pointed elf like tip looks really cute on these shoes, makes them very whimsical and fairy like
“Heels with an Emergency exit” 😂😂

There have been times I've wanted emergency exit flats. And those flat heels are easier for an evening bag than a pair of ballet flats.
Pashions are calling your name 😏
Plus you don't have to carry the high heel shoes once switching these heels like you do when carrying flats! I'm tempted!
The arch part that is not bending flat is called the shank. It's usually made of metal so it makes sense that it wouldnt be able to adpt completely.
The product is very suitable for models who travels I’d say. Also using it as an emergency shoe product is a genius way to put it :D

"High heels with an emergency exit" definitely what I would use this sort of shoe for on a night out and the heel or ball of my foot begin to hurt and don't want to take the shoe off.
Man I always love watching people play this game
A full video of these and styling them and wearing them out for a week should be a thing!

Honestly genius for environmental reasons too. If your herl breaks you get a new heel to put on instead of a new shoe
Yes, the fact so few shoes can be resoled nowdays really bugs me, historically you'd keep he uppers of a shoe going for way longer by replacing the whole sole but that's not possible anymore due to how they make them. Such a waste to have to throw a whole shoe away just because the sole us worn down.
I've also been down the convetible heels rabbithole. Mime et Moi made the best ones because shoe would be completely flat in its low heel form. No weird elf toes. Too bad they went out of business 😢

I have the 1.0 version and I quite like them. They start out stiff and get a little better (shape and attaching the parts gets easier) but they are still not perfectly flat.
