I personally don't think there is anything bad in taking inspiration from South Korea. They got independence exactly when we did. They still had to suffer alot during korean war and partition of their country, but they still managed to work really hard and become a developed nation. Its actually good if we take inspiration from former colonized countries on how to develop ourselves too.
