  • Esperanto is supposed to be easy to learn, the grammar is simplified as much as possible. So, today I am trying to to a few Esperanto lessons on Duolingo and take a test. Is it really easy to learn?
Spoilers: yes, it is. Especially, if you speak English or Spanish, or French, or you are familiar with Latin. That will help you with the vocabulary. As for the grammar, it is really very simple. For example, there is only one ending for the Present tense. Cool, isn't it?

You are a quick learner, quite impressive. A great CZcams channel for Esperanto beginners is "Exploring Esperanto" with tons of lessons but also short films in Esperanto. There is also an interesting channel from Russia called "Eterna krokodilanto".
EDIT: Just finished the video. About your question about the hard parts: for many people the accusative -n is the hardest part of Esperanto. It is anoying in the beginning but once you understand it, you see that it gives a lot of richness to the language because with the accusative word order doesn't matter in most sentences. About your other question about Esperanto becoming more complicated: Esperanto started with 16 rules and a few thousand words. There are much more rules today, plus some variations, but everything is still based on these 16 rules. So you can understand everything with them. The additional rules are basically clarifications how to express certain things in the right way and how things are done traditionally.

Saluton, Stefan! Thank you for your comment! To be honest, I wasn't expecting any comments at all on my a few days old channel. I'm familiar with the concept of cases, there are six cases in my first language (Russian). So, now I'm wondering whether it's going to be hard for me :) Thanks again for your tips and recommendations.

@@sergeysvids2756 There is a website called Tubaro that collects all videos on CZcams that mention Esperanto or that have Esperanto as the video language. (this website is usefull because there is no trending page for Esperanto available on CZcams) That's how I found you.

Dankon pro tio. Ni kreskigu Esperanton. Mi ne konsentas, ke ĉi tio estu la internacia lingvo sed mi konsentas, ke ĉi tio devus resti viva kaj kreski.
Thank you for this. Let's make Esperanto grow. I do not agree this should be the international language but I agree this should stay alive and grow.
