Hello! Thank you for the informative video! I am curious if you could tell me a little more detail about the substrate mix you made for this spider. We have sand and soil but aren't sure how much to use of each. Thank you in advance!
Gorgeous spider, unfortunately I haven’t got space for another enclosure right now. 😔 I might suggest your substrate was more complex than it needed to be but I’m sure once it’s dry it’ll hold up well enough for her? I can’t imagine it being a problem? You did ask for constructive criticism so… write a script. You waffle & repeat yourself leaving me sitting here thinking “just let the bl*ody spider out!” 😄 Seriously though, prepare a script & keep it visible to yourself, off camera so you know what you want to say. Shots of an empty table aren’t interesting so I would suggest shooting some B-roll to cut in if you’re not going to handle the spider on camera so you have something on camera when you’re just talking. You can shoot B-roll after you finish filming if not before to splice in. Finally make more videos. Seriously, not joking, the more videos you make the more comfortable you’ll be on camera. It doesn’t matter if you’re a bit jittery & rambling in your videos, every video you shoot will get you that bit more comfortable, even if you don’t release them all, even if you don’t release many of them, it’s all building that familiarity with being on camera & on a mic.
Hiya thanks for taking the time for leaving some constructive criticism. The substrate simply is just sand and soil. I like to use my mix for the various species I keep and tweak it slightly depending on requirements. I I’ve been making videos for years now and hate making scripts personally. As I feel a genuine flow sounds a lot better rather than trying to remember a script. Personally, my style of video is just simple recording on the phone as I don’t have a lot of time to record b-roll etc tho I may consider doing that in the future. Handling true spiders in general isn’t recommended as they can be quick and wouldn’t want to encourage it on the spider shop channel. All in all I hope you enjoyed watching this video regardless as these are such gorgeous spiders
@@JerimiesWildWorld hay it’s your channel, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do, that’s not up to me. These spiders generally are beautiful but the girl you have there is spectacular. If they’re available anywhere when I have some extra space it’s the next species I want to keep. The handling issue is contentious I know but I’m happy handling true spiders of all kinds as the interaction is part of the experience for me. Then again I’ve been handling all kinds of arachnida for 43 years so… 😄
i would have reserves about buying from these clownn . I recently purchased a jumping spider from these clowns , sent a wrong spider out , and no email notification intend to claim money back from them via VISA CARD, ABSOLUTE COWBOWS
What a stunning spider
