No, CZcams's algorithm evolved to be like that because of people trying to take advantage of the algorithm.
And this is why we are not allowed to have nice things: Human Nature.
He's completely ignoring the fact that they don't just want you clicking and watching videos but they want you clicking and watching videos that advertisers will put ads on.

@debbiewilder4738 These algorithms are not as free as one would expect. They are programmed with the biases that the designers and the programmers have built into them. Many topics and videos that could gain more click-through and watch times could be suppressed at any moment. It doesn't mean that these things couldn't get more views despite this, it just greatly affects their potential.
Yup, the hard part is understanding what's interesting enough to achieve that - that you can create.

Titles also matter too! But yes a good thumbnail is super important. You do still need an entertaining video though, like he said the audience retention is the other major aspect besides Click-Through Rate.

Two content creators can do the very same thing and one can be a millionaire while the other doesn't make rent. The difference is just like with politics - people don't vote with their logic; they vote with their emotions

This video is how youtube videos used to be back in the day. Just genuine content. No ads. Just a few friends having fun and posting it.
How to win a race?
Make sure you overtake every car in front of you, cause that's how you obtain the lead. Then you prevent others from overtaking you simply by driving faster so they can't keep up with you. Sure the supporters and the sponsors play a role but, once hold on to that formula...
The algorithm of the race will mark you with the first place once you make it past the finish line.
As simplistic as that is... That's what the race industry wants. And I belive that's how you become successful.
That might be why short videos are becoming so popular with the algorithm because the percentage of people watching the entirety will be higher and they’re more likely to watch multiple videos because they’re the length of one longer video

It's literally 🗑️. They push the most 🗑️ content up front and basically make it trending... And then they censor the best content to oblivion.
The thing that pisses me off is when they "demonetize" a video for let's say "foul language", but then still show ads on the video, but share none of that revenue with the content creator.
Many of my favorite creators have stopped uploading because of this.
Except they now censor/demonize a LARGE SWATH of creators!

Except it’s more complex and, ultimately, duplicitous than this explanation. The “algorithm” (as if it’s some corporeal beast) favors extremes. Nuance is scarce on CZcams. So, creators go to these extremes to please the algorithm, giving more exposure to…questionable..content. This is. All in favor of the almighty dollar, which is fair, I suppose. However, now we’re monetizing hate and outrage, which opens the flood gates to grifter after grifter.

How does this theory account for shadowbanning, limiting reach/search results, and outright removing popular creators?
That is not just part of the main algorithm , so it has those cases listed as exceptions . Those exceptions were feed by another algorithm or manually. For example Alex Jhones was totally deliberated.

If the video doesn't have a detailed description , then I immediately leave, because if there's no description then it's most likely click bait. People who write detailed descriptions of the whole video are most likely to have the best content and not be click bait.

This guy has also never fought with the ever changing instagram algorithm and or “community guideline” changes, I struggle to believe CZcams/ Google run such straightforward algorithms without the (what id call drastic differences) of what Instagram impose, everything from comments, lengths of comments, amounts of hashtags, shares, likes & saves all account towards algorithm factors. CZcams must be somewhat the same, not saying identical, but from hearing from one of the most successful CZcamsrs saying it’s simple, because he has built himself the platform for it to be simple for himself now. im sure a lot of those other factors don’t apply when you get MILLIONS of views and probably are THE financial contributor to CZcams themselves 🤔
I really hate to tell you but it really is as simple as that, I made a short a few weeks ago, just a little nothing with me dropping and shaking some little wooden mushrooms I painted and it got 10k views, the most views I’ve ever had and over 16k impressions and 20 subs from it. I’m just starting my CZcams journey but that one video getting 10k views definitely made me feel like, “yea wow this really is possible” you just have to make content that people “want” to watch and “will” watch. And a lot of videos about the changing algorithms and all that stuff really does not matter that much. The only thing that matters is “is your video entertaining? Do people want to watch it?” The more people that click on it and watch it, the more people the app shows it to etc. That my friend is a very poor mindset to have.

As someone who does SEO for a job that’s the YT algorithm in a nutshell
I don't think SEO really helps, I always get 85 out of 100 SEO or higher and it doesn't do much at all, it's all timing, recommendations, and luck. I've seen videos with only 15 SEO and they went viral. One day I will figure out how to go viral I know there's a secret I just don't know what it is yet.

1 thing he forgot that CZcams, or Alphabet/Google want is your Data. They want to know what you are watching, to be able to recomend more videos for you to watch so they can show you more adverts.
Where Google and to a higher extent Alphabet want your data, is to be more affective across platforms. Phone, search, video etc. So they can offer you the products/services and advertising that has a higher chance of you spending money. And the ad revenue they can get from companies who offer these products and services.
Basically emphasizing "YOU" - The Product!

Yeah I’m having a hard time with viewer retention. Trying to improve but it’s hard when I get little to no feedback. How do I find out what my viewers like 😅
It all starts with consistency, if you are not consistently posting on your channel, you will not be able to grow. For example, if you say and do post consistently on Saturdays then that will most likely attract the viewers following you to come to your channel every Saturday to watch a new video.

CZcams is all about giving value to audience, engagement is the major part to come on top. Big youtubers uses various tools to engage with audience like Fantaclaus app etc.
CZcams randomly boosts channels. I have seen some of the best content creators go nowhere and some of the worst takeoff like a rocket ship into space.
He forgot to mention the most important part: Be the perfect slave to the Matrix system and act like is expected from you, say what is expected from you and think like the majority of the slave minded and make content to keep the slave minded even dumber.
Once you have that, CZcams will make you a millionaire.

CZcams’s algorithm is dogshit. I’m constantly recommended the same videos, videos I’ve watched and things I’m not interested in no matter how I’ve changed my settings. Or ! Just maybe, Apple is doing great keeping things from tracking me to recommend me relevant videos.
The worst part is getting recommended videos I’ve already watched MULTIPLE times. Like bruh, get that shit off my homepage I don’t want to see the same damn videos over and over.

It's an algorithm built off of your likes and interests therefore your calling yourself weird.
They want you to watch advertising. They don't care about the actual content. The advertising is what makes them money.
They really want click bait videos to get people to click, watch the ads, then leave and do the same on other ads.
That's what his implying obviously as he said that's how they get their revenue.

Yes it did 💀 the algorithm will push your video more if the people that see your video at first are clicking it and watching a lot of it. Meaning the algorithm favors Click Through Rate and Retention metrics.

What people don't understand about mrbeast success, is his target audience is 6 - 12 year ild children. Only if you make videos for six-year-olds will you achieve his numbers because they are the ones that click on and beg Mommy to buy them a t-shirt.
Makes sens when you think about it, engagement is cool and all but aat the end of the day, they're goal is to keep viewers on the platforom as long as possible to serve them as many ads as possible, so watch time is key
