Where that barge hit is right in front of Texas A&M University Galveston Campus. That is the only maritime academy in the Gulf Coast Region. Not only is it a maritime academy, they also have degree programs geared towards the “blue economy “. In 2025 the university is going to receive a brand new 524 foot (160meter) training ship as part of the US Department of Transportation National Security Multi-Mission Vessel program. In the 1990s I worked on Seismograph Ships for a company called Western Geophysical that docked next door to the university. Sometimes there can be a pretty strong current going towards that bridge and if you have a loss of control of your vessel it can definitely get serious in a hurry. I was a mate on a 180’ boat and I remember smashing the dock pretty hard once when the wind and currents caught me off guard.

Hello just an FYI the barge is a 30,000 barrel barge. Approx. 42 gallons per barrel, depending on several factors, but 42 is a safe round number.

Troostwijk sells inventory’s and equipment of businesses that have gone out of business. They will sell everything a company had. This includes office inventory but also cars and any heavy equipment. They also do consignment auctions. They sell internationally. I don’t find it particularly strange they are now selling a super yacht.

Before people start going down the hyperbole path and "it's an attack" paranoia, barges break away quite often. Usually they hit the shore. Even when they hit a bridge, they usually don't do too much damage. (Notice the road is fine, the unused and not maintained railway was damaged.) This is two bridges hit in a year you've been told about. It's not becoming as common as you're pretending it is.
Do a YT search for boat crashes; you'll see barges in there and you'll see boats hitting bridges and doing nothing. That's why the news doesn't cover them, just like they don't cover the daily car crashes that occur.

@@eSysmanSuperYachts We're at $113 Billion of our money and counting, How much of our money is going toward our own weapons companies vs. Ukrainian corruption is unknown but we are literally being robbed by our government to pay for it all. Meanwhile the US is one of the most taxed countries in the world and homelessness and household debt are at multi-year highs, and the currency is being devalued. The US Admin is Ukraine's main support, and it continues to block peace negotiations and thousands on both sides are dying, just to keep the graft ongoing. Our admin needs to go, and the assets of Ukr officials seized, auctioned off, and returned to the taxpayers of the US (and EU/UK if you like).
