Without doubt one of the best actors of his generation. Absolutely superb at his craft.
The way he's conducted himself and lived his life with as low a profile as possible for a Hollywood actor has meant that, despite watching him for almost 40 years, I never think "I'm watching Gary Oldman act" in any role, I can actually be invested in the character he's playing.
Love Gary. A true old fashion actor and celebrity. Not a narcissistic tool. A rare breed
First saw Gary in The Firm in 1988, he was brilliant playing a football hooligan, he was destined for greatness, true legendary actor.

He's still somehow underrated for me, he should have legend status with the likes of de niro, daniel day lewis.. One of the few likable Hollywood actors these days.

Leon is his best role
I've been a huge fan of Gary since i watched him in Darkest hour, Winston Churchill is probably one of the greatest characters he's ever played. As a result of the film, that role made him earned a Bafta, and Oscar for best actor however, his Winston Churchull's character hasn't been the only role of his that i liked. I liked also his performance as Norman Stansfield in Leon the professional because we all remember him by his famous scene where he says "EVERYONE".

Yeah, he has won a lot of awards, all right, but, honestly, not enough. He is only now getting the notice he deserves. Anyway, great actor, and very funny. I wish he could do more comedy stuff!

@@ruly8153 so right...You forgot Alec Guinness ..Ben Kingsley Gabon.. list is endless... Hardy is a very good actor an as a Welshman I loved his accent in Locke... But still wouldn't put him in front of current actors ..Michael Sheen , Stephen Graham, spring to mind much better
