Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, czcams.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Bro, you nailed it! I throw a popper from April-August on Clear Lake. 95% hookup rate and almost every other angler throws frogs with 50% hookup being generous. Purely numbers! RICO Poppers are money! But frog bites and the hookset make frog fishing so exciting!

Been fishing since before I can remember - the ‘crickhopper’ lure (mimics a cricket), is the one I would never go without. I’ve had the best luck with the brownish or natural color of the insect. Fishing around stream rocks or rocky shores will drive almost anything with fins into a frenzy.

This is what I've always wanted to see - someone describing the "science" of fishing. Everyone I've ever talked to or watched basically describes it as an art. Which I guess it is in part but there is definitely a science to it. And you don't live _that_ far away from me (Arkansas), so I imagine a lot of things are pretty similar - not identical - but similar enough to extrapolate. And God, buzzbaits frustrate me. I've seen people catch fish after fish with them and I think in my 35 years, I've caught exactly one fish with them...

Megabass Diamonte in the sexy shad or pearl colors are amazing whenever bass are schooling on bait fish. The weight distribution is weighted so that the rearend is heavier and makes the head of the lure sit up. It looks like a baitfish half in and out of the water. Walking it with the pop, pop; pop, pop, pause, is insane. Tyler, as always thank you for the info and high quality content.

My top two favorite tip water are 6th sense dogma 100, and the only buzzbait I throw is made by nates custom baits it's a hybrid buzzbait in the sense that it has buck hair along with the scurt and my favorite part it's inline. not like a standard buzzbait where there is a bend to the wire.

I went fishing and used a wake bait. A nice smallie crushed. As time passed I've realized to catch big ones you work lure moderate and slow. As stated they get this big due to survival adaptation. What I mean is fish learns it doesn't have to work as hard when food is plentiful. That's why if birds are picking off baitfish the fish are below picking off the injured ones. Also, they hide in brush grass drops and cover to ambush near by foliage.

In my area (central North Arkansas), we have deep (most areas get 40ft deep 10-15 yards from the bank or deeper), steep banked, and rocky lakes. I'd like to see a video how to fish deep lakes with limited vegetation.

correct me if im wrong but i feel like there's no point in using a regular frog as opposed to a popping frog because you can pop and walk the popping frog and when you are walking it, moves more water because of the cupped mouth making it easier for the fish to notice.

    • @TylersReelFishing
      @TylersReelFishing  Před 2 lety

Popping frog does NOT skip nearly as well. It also does not come over thick pads and grass mats as well. There’s a big place for both

I think if you used the megabass pop max you'll love it more than the strike king one. Throws better water, you can walk it very effectively, the paint jobs are top quality, and the color selection is the best to match the hatch. You can still throw the popper in tight areas with only 2 treble hooks inside a smaller profile than the spooks.

Also good not to be to structured with pause an retrieve change up how fast you retrieve tan pauses always. Natural bait fish are irractic with the way they swim do the same with all baits. Moderate slow fast for a second or to vary pause times. This makes this really natural. Making bait look natural like the real food source is best 👌

Topwater is my all time favorite bass fishing style. Nothing gets my heart beating like seeing a fish blow up my topwater lure.

Also a lipless crank moderate speed. Crank moderate speed let it sink. Lipless crankbaits can be used deeper 12 inch below the surface or mid point in the water. If your in 8 ft cast lure out an let sink for 5 to 7 seconds. Then moderate retrieve crank an pause. Change cadence an yes change also how you pause time change. Pause at 3 seconds, then 2 seconds then 4 seconds between cranks. Don't always just use 3 seconds during pause. Crank for 3 to 5 seconds or 4 to 8 seconds or 3 seconds. As you pause change times how long you pause all baits it's more natural. Most don't tell us this

Hey Tyler I am a new subscriber but your videos are what got me back into bass fishing. I have a spinning reel combo I bought a while ago from academy sport and I just got my first baitcaster. I’m trying to get the best performance out of them since I only have two. At the moment I’m trying to decide which line would best fit for each set up to get the most out of having just 2 poles. Can you help lol

In north Georgia where I live tapwater is it a 12 month year-round kind of thing… Especially with a buzz bait or a walking bait
( mostly because tgey cause reaction strikes)
I caught a 3 pound bass on a walking date in January when it was 30° outside and the water was 30° as well

Having contrast on jigs will for sure get a basses attention. A darkgreen jig with a white trailer. Color around hook area red an hook tip red. Then spray jig with proline attractant with, nightcrawler creyfish or shad an the bass will crush the jig hard. Also take a top water color around hook with scented red marker an the tips of hooks red, then spray hooks with proline shad attractant let it sit bass will crush the top water. Also, get a frog 🐸 color around hooks with scented red marker. Then spray generously with proline frog attractant an bass will crush that lure for sure. If trailer soft or hard lure has a scent like nightcrawler shad frog 🐸 or creyfish bass will surely eat it
