With advanced reconstruction on the apex predator, if you wait half a second softer reloading, it will load the second shot, eliminating the need to reload an excess amount of times

Worth noting that the strand combo will only really work for one person because you need the jolt damage and Witherhoard damage to get your grenade back so quickly. You can get a similar combo with solar warlock using Rain of Fire and heat rises that does not rely on tick damage, but then you're icarus dashing in the Well and your teammates are not going to like you.
Classic Ehroar testing setups that’s unrealistic in where dps matters and works for only one person. Might as well just hothead and starfire since it’s only 300k behind.
Exactly my line of thought. I thus tend to use the dungeon rocket for very short bursts (max 5 rockets) while the apex is a slightly worse alh for longer fights
You do not need both, you have options. Jolt damage sucks now, and witherhoard is just nice to have. Could just use lumina with eye of another world instead. :)
A well is not the size of a rift though, just position yourself at the back and side of the well to take advantage of Rain of Fire. As for the Strand combo, you only really need another guy to proc Jolt and if there is none (which is unlikely because of Tcrash Titan's or Gathering storm Hunters) there's always Radiant Dance Machines.

(ONLY FOR APEX PREDATOR) cartesian coordinate is actually a better swap weapon than iterative loop bc if you are running triple solar surge for apex then coordinate will also get this buff. this surge boost exceeds voltshot now bc of the nerf to jolt dps
It's sad that this gun was never craftable and so limited in the ways you could get it so I was never able to get a lucky roll on it guess I'll have to stick with iterative loop rip
@@monadoboy9639 definitely know what you mean, thankfully i had a few good rolls stored from years ago that didn’t even see their first use till season 15. it’s definitely a fan favorite so i wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually reprised and made it craftable
I never take off my Lead from Gold and Vorpal roll. Doing a last wish last night and I did 1.7 Mil on Riven with just Tractor and radiant Cartesian with 3x surges. I was pretty much by myself because the others made a wrong call about which room she was in

I'm sure they will just nerf rockets as a whole because of a single outlier and have it still be decent but every other rocket be garbage while they try and fail to buff grenade launchers into the meta again

Idea for the channel; add overlayed dps charts based on the video. Little extra work, but I believe it would enhance the great content you're already putting out.
With the apex you should try shooting 2 realoding one and wait for the second one to reload cause enhanched recon procs after 3.5s, while reloading with max reload speed is 2ish seconds so it would be slower to single reload
yea if you just let it auto reload instead of manually reloading right after you shoot. it will get two rockets so you dont even have to wait that split second yourself. You wont even have a chance of shooting the rocket early. i just hold shoot down and dont even press reload its a little slower but you will never not get 2 rockets

Cold Comfort, its the best for big burst dmg, in quick time, because you have 4 rackets one after another +bait and switch with witherhoard, but it cannot always be used in any encounter, because it needs some clear ads stacks for envious assassin, and a finisher or rev for the 4th racket
I have both I personally prefer apex just because of the ease of use it has, especially on raid encounters where i usually run like nez on ron or caretaker on vow. Theyre both very good but heavily dependent on play style.
I mean in the places where you would normally need to toss a reload in, use your super, should have nade back after or reconstruction will load it.
I personally use catisian with vorpal with apex as my fusion and I feel it helps squeak out more damage
I think a Catision Coordinate with Izzanagis does way more dmg with apex predator than witherhoard and arc fusion rifle. Is it possible you could test that as well?

Izzy’s and AP per combo out damage WH and AP but in a 30 second span WH and AP Do more damage because auto loading and time saving to keep damage pressure on. Single combo- IB and AP. Total damage in 30 second boss window- WH and AP
You had the footage of Cold Comfort switched around with Apex Predator in the damage test portion. I don't know if that affected your maths?
It should have been said that even Hothead is great and the numbers you showed do not include burst super damage, which in a team boss damage phase can help edge your individual damage beyond those who just use weapons. The issue people tend to have in most boss fights is missing rockets, because that will have more of a negative impact on your total damage than not having Cold Comfort or Apex with B/S.
If you don't have either Apex or Cold Comfort, it's not that big of a deal. Most sensible groups don't care even in Master content
What about if you strand super as well? Im sure the dps would increase but you might not get all your rockets out in the damage windows.

Would necrotics be the best option purely for thread of generation? Occasionally you don't get your nade back in time would that help with consistency?
If ur using this build solo u can use rain of fire to also become radiant, its not much but its something
Ehroar, great video! You should test the Ager scepter alt fire mode with the new warlock exotic. I think with the continuous reload it might be a secret burst DPS monster. You now get another 1/3+ of your super used in the alt fire mode. I have been melting bosses with it but I don’t know where I can do actual damage testing solo.

If you wanna do this you should use transversive steps and a turret in a dps phase like golgoroth. You're a good utility and you're able to get your entire super out before running out of reserves
I think I'm going to go with Witherhoard, Cartesian with Vorpal and the Apex with Bait so I can get easy damage bonuses with solar surges for both weapons.
I’ve been using tracking a lot more on my rockets I know on paper it’s less damage but in real world scenarios I lose a lot more damage to rockets I miss and it’s definitely boss specific

I got AP with reconstruction explosive light and it’s served me well so far
Try same strand set up but switch iterative loot with royal executioner (envious assassin + reservoir burst) and its the same, al least from the test I did on Phryzhia
And the artifact can buff it in surge activities
I’m curious where cold comfort stands if you only get it to shoot off 3 rockets instead of 4 on initial burst

I started using apex and a bate and switch supremacy and it does numbers, highly recommend
I would like to know though whether or not chill clip including shatter damage is better or not compared to bait and switch (of course with gjallarhorn) I just would like to know if it is similar to how bump in the night was being of course only a single player rocket but I mean whether it is still outright better
Bait and switch probably best for the whole team overall but as a singular shooter would cold comfort with chill clip be the best play? 😊
B&S will be better if i had to guess without testing because chill clip was a little more dps the explosive light and explo is 25% and does not buff wolf pack rounds and B&S is 35% and buffs wolf pack rounds. that being said i think i will be better for all just running B&S and use some other way for shatter like riptide chillclip because it will also get the surge buff or stasis turrets or hunter super. but its now the best chill clip rocket so if you get the god roll with chill clip i would keep it

also using cartesian coordiante when useing apex preadator would allow it to benefit from the 3x solar surge, so how does cc compare to the voltshot iterative loop
matching surges>iterative loop. jolt (voltshot) was basically killed and it's all been standardized. No idea if this is a bug
That's a good question. Would be curious to know if the x3 surge mods on cartesian would make up for the extra damage that jolt does. I would assume the x3 surge mods would be more than the jolt since you do use quite a few fusion shots in this rotation.
@@boneidle8420 that is correct. Jolt damage is currently all standardized and it's..not very good, the fusion's jolt is the same as say, ikelos, postery, etc. Jolt values cause the nerf. The jolt damage doesn't even get buffed by surges/well/lumina anymore. Even two tailed fox and darci got a massive hit cause the jolt nerfs.
So TL;DR
matching surges with fusion>iterative loop

I got a cold comfort the god roll, but with explosive light and i also have a fully enhanced crafted reconstruction/bait y switch apex i think ill stick to the apex while i get the cold comfort also riptide or cartesian works with each of them so it doesnt really matter if I do a slightly less dps.

Apex with reconstruction and explosive light is going to work for most people in most content. I’m pretty bad about saving my heavy for the boss so I always have explosive light rockets at the end😅.
But this is cool if you want max DPS and get fancy with it 🍻

id use bns tbh. its a lot more free than EL and provides a lot higher of a damage boost.

At least with the Apex, you can craft your own Godroll! With the Cold Comfort you're at the mercy of RNG.
I've gotten THREE cold comforts with envious assassin and chill clip, I'm just begging to get that last slot filled with the gold roll perk of bait and switch
Am I the only one that cant seem to get Envious Assassin to proc consistently? I wish there was some type of notification on the screen on how Envious is procing before you swap to that said weapon. I always swap and sometimes I'll have 2 and soemtimes I'll have 3. Seems very inconsistent even though I feel like I am getting the rapid kills it is asking for.
Hothead adept (if you have it) because you can get vorpal & adept big ones mod 🤷🏾♂️ apex 2nd just cause you can craft it with enhanced perks and it also has reconstruction. You’ll have to get lucky to get a good roll on that dungeon rocket…
Adept big one is essential major and boss spec into one. It doesn’t do any more damage than either

u could actually run apothosis veil on warlock to needle storm in between and then have another nade ready to go for another instant reload

Carried my buddy through his first deep clear. He gets 5/5 cold comfort as his first drop.... so jealous. And he is a PVP guy who will never use it lol

Same here but i am the pvp guy who got it same roll but blast radius mw. It will be nice to use it once and never again cuz i really only play pvp not that much pve hahahahaha
@@ImNot5YearsOld reload or handling are the best masterworks both increse dps handling for hot swaps and reload for reloading faster. but tbh masterworks dont really mater in the end of the day
There are definitely times that apex has had 10 in the reserves with no mods on and I dont really know why. Usually it's 7 but sometimes for no reason it'll go up to 10.

More setup and having to get a 5/5 or just craft Apex Preadator. I wonder what one people will choose lol. Damage isn't enough to no life that dungeon and Apex use case is just so much easier.

Sealed ahamkara grasp works pretty well for hunters if you have a free exotic slot, not to mention reload dodge

Yeah but most boss fights your gonna be killin adds before a damage phase anyway. But yeah apex isn't dependent on that at all.

My argument is that cold comfort has you running a stasis rocket and an arc fusion with voltshot (Jolt got nerfed and is no longer as good as it used to be but still serves its purpose as free damage to help bring back your grenade. Due to the combo requiring witherhoard there is no way to match a stasis fusion with cold comfort. Apex predator can match triple solar surges with a godroll cartesian coordinate and surpass iterative loop with voltshot due to jolt's nerf. I also find it barely noticable with how fast your grenade comes back after no longer using voltshot. I also found myself in a few situation where there were no adds to proc voltshot on just before a damage phase. My main reason though for liking apex predator is these two do basically the exact same thing with me just having to try a little harder while using apex predator but one is craftable and one is not. In short, I'm too goddamn lazy to go grind a cold comfort when apex predator is craftable. I don't feel like going and farming a cold comfort because it is one of six drops from the encounters it drops from and then you still need two main perks and impact casing for it to be the right roll. I like apex predator because I am lazy.

Hey Ehroar can you try an auto loading explosive light hothead with conditional finality? ( aka shooting a rocket, switching to conditional, firing 2 shots, reloading and switching back). Ive been doing it and the auto loading is frame perfect pretty much and I always end up 1st in dps. Also I use one of my auto loadings with curiass tcrash.
necrotic grip with the warlock melee is better than Verity's Brow , other than that everything is the same .

I can never get 3 rockets with envious assassin on the cold comfort. I’ve tried many different weapons to get the rapid kills and they all gave me 2 rockets
When you tested clown cartridge hothead did you stand in your own well? Because if so you are doing extra damage against the boss.
The other two should’ve been much much higher than hothead. But standing in your own well buffs damage. Against Persys. (Also warlocks be aware strand super adds ≈350-400k

@@alfieheffer4213it did not lmao, the scalar was lowered slightly in the lates patch, but super damage (weapon damage from a warlock in their own well counts as super damage) absolutely still does a ton more damage to Perseus.

Sometimes if you get the kills and don’t swap to the rocket it won’t actually “lock in” the ammo and will only go up to 2.
You can izzy rockets with apex though? Isn't that better than witherhoards +plus rockets for dps?
he uses witherhoard to regen grenade ammo to reload his rocket with strand grenade
@Doctor Gonzo yes I know that, but with apex having auto loading it doesn't need it, so you can izzy and and swap you just start off with an extra rocket. I was just wondering if that was more damage than witherhoard, I'd imagine it is
@@tiptaptom pretty sure the witherhoard combo does more dmg because of the grenade energy thing. If it has reconstruction or not doesn't really matter, reloading with strand grenades just improves the dps compared to doing a izzy swap

Techeun is better if you or a teammate is able to jolt the boss without Iterative Loop. Otherwise you need a source to jolt for max dps and Iterative is the easiest source typically.

what about slideways on apex predator? you can do many different things with it like swapping between two weapons with slideways shooting and sliding to get rid of the 3 second cooldown. Also sliding and alternating fire with thread of ascent to alternate cooldowns. I know its inconvenient to be moving around while dpsing but i feel like it has to be considered because of how much dps is possible.
Basically the same as reconstruction, since slideshot has a 3seconds cd, and reconstruction sits at 3.5, u just dont need to slide while doing dps.
Yeah and have your entire raid team hate you? i'd rather not have someone using slideshot in my raid team since they would be bumping and pushing everyone around for a half second difference.
