@@SEsGarage can you elaborate? I'm assuming oil changes since it has to do with lubrication? But Hyundai recalled millions of cars/engines including the 2.0l nu gdi. These engines are used in many kia/Hyundai models and are recalled because of premature rod bearing failure and covered under warranty for a free engine fix/replacement. From 2012 to 2021 which is mind boggling. Are you sure this is not the case? Your the expert and I'm not questioning your mechanic diagnosis. It's just this is happening right now. They think a knock sensor software update will fix a mechanical problem that will break eventually smh. Americans will have lifetime warranty and Canadians 10/200,000km extension and anyone who payed for engine service before this lawsuit happend will get reimbursed.
@@RM-ub1xd the 1.8 and 2.0 are not listed under the rod bearing campaign. They have a separate issue with piston slap/oil consumption but that was not the case in this particular engine replacement
@@MitEclipse91 did you replace the guides and tensioner arm? I’ve seen the tensioner arm be the wrong style and cause a loose chain. Compare the guides and tensioner arm to the old parts
@@SEsGarage yes we replaced all 3 tensioner and 2 guides.. it has a weird ratcheting in the tensioner… let me know if you’re available for a call I’d love to talk to you for 2 minutes. I own a shop
Excellent job man, Thanks a lot
Is the crank timing sprocket attached to the frame or can it be taken off? I have a feeling the sprocket on my crank may be bad
Hello do you no part number intake cam
Why do people use zip ties when installing new timing tensioner?
You do this when only changing the tensioner, so you don’t jump time.

Wow a 2018 Tucson. I'm worried I have the same year and engine. What happened to the engine?
Rod bearing failure due to lack of maintenance

Right, but then as soon as you spin the motor by hand it just jumps time…
Not if you pump the tensioner up with oil
