- This cover by "Jimmie Rodgers" was released in 1957 and made number one on the Billboard hot 100 and also number one in the R&B Best sellers chart.. This song was written by "Bob Merrill" in 1954, but Jimmie Rodgers version was by far the best selling of this song.. The footage here is of me and my six year old daughter Tilly at the Iligan City fair, and it was only filmed last night.. Many thanks for watching...

When I was 14 -15years old I used to live at the fair at the Barking fair bumpers tunnel of love and of course the Waltzer yes the good old days :-)
I worked on the fairs for many years Doug, mainly in Southend on Sea, and i have worked on many of the rides, and i actually spent two seasons doing the bumper cars, and i have worked the Waltzer too, but my favourite was the Go Carts, i so enjoyed my time working on them.. Yeah taking Tilly on the bumpers here brought back many memories for me.. Thanks for watching my good friend...

I worked a Carnival when I was 17 years old (1971). Ran the Kiddie Coaster. The kids loved it! It was fun! Can’t remember where I was when I road the bumper cars. I just remember doing it when I was young. Memory not so good these days 🤔.
We had some awesome Carnivals when i lived in Southend, every summer i watched the procesion, i always enjoyed them.. Hello Mark, i worked on the fairgrounds for many years, from my early teens into my mid twenties, and they were some of the best years of my life, the wages were always rubbish, but there was always so much fun going on which made up for it (Grin).. @@TheOldrecordclub Don't worry, I didn't really expect a reply. The Bumper car were always a hit with me and 3 other rides. Twisters, planes and waltzers. I was always at the shooting as well. So you worked on a them, did it travel or was it fixed and who ran it. Up here it is almost always Cadona's.

Very good and easy video when you do not have to do any editing Carl, I am sure you both had fun. I did watching.
Had a little bit of editing to do Greg, but just the basics, cutting some of the footage out, and matching up the remaining footage to finish at the end of the song, but this was a "Spur of the moment" video, and it was put together and uploaded all within 10 -15 minutes, and that was quick.. Hi Lucous, i think Tilly could have handled this on her own, but she insisted i came with her and that i done the driving.. It was so much fun, and being on the bumpers brought back lots of memories for me as i used the work on the fairgrounds for many years back in my home town of Southend on Sea.. Yeah i think she would love an electric cart, i think most kids would, but my house here in the Philippines is so small i would have nowhere to put it lol.. Hi Lucous, i quite often use footage from one channel to another, and just change the songs etc, most of the time it works.. I think adding music can sometimes bring a video to life, because sometimes i have had footage on my Philippine channel that i did not like much, but when i brought it over to my music channel and added music to it, it completely changed the whole thing for the better, and a good example of that was some footage i filmed from a coach window, which was not very good, but as soon as i added the music it brought it alive, and the footage in question is on this link.. czcams.com/video/XYU1bR2qaSU/video.html Thanks for watching...
