- Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara says a judicial panel of inquiry would be set up to probe the finances of the state before his assuming office.
The Governor noted that the new Attorney-General is coming in at a critical time when the State is involved in many legal matters.

@@user-dl2oh8fx8t Yes ...based on prevailing circumstances...for example on Rivers if it is adduce that the 27 lawmakers have lost their seat and Inec has not replaced them via an election and the remaining 4 who r backed by law and the constitution have legitimate ground that the governor has contravened the constitution and committed an impeachable offence then they can impeach. And all impeachment is rectified by the judiary who woild look at the grounds of impeachment.
Invariably lets not mince words ...the 27 lawmakers have lost their seat if we really want to follow the constitution and stop playing dirty politics...Nigerians should rise and support justice once and always rather than pandering towards party, tribes religion and other sentiments

The Question remains can 4 people constitute the members of a State House of Assembly? These four people passed the budget for the state without following the due process and up till now the validity of their action has not been known. Eventually, the State house of Assembly is gradually moving into be taken over by the National Assembly. If a panel is set up to investigate the previous administration the Governor as the Accountant General in the previous administration will also be a target of interrogation. I am not sure of how he can avoid that.
When the 27 lawmakers left their seats where declared vacant by the new speaker of the house. It is now left for INEC to conduct an election to fill in those positions...mean whike the members that remained had to do legislative business so based on the prevailing circumstances the budget is now a law...the national assembly cannot take over legislative business in rivers 1. Because the the case in court
2. Their r law makers in the house that can hold forth b4 the court decides
3. The constitution is clear on the matter.
And while all this brouhaha...because of one man Wike who doesn't want to let his control of Rivers government go...come on lets call a spade a spade ...the reason this thing is still dragging is because the presidency is playing coy about it all cos wike is their guy. And no nation can grow without the rule of law ...this is the reason Nigeria is still a mess...the system create strong men instead of strong institutions and they ...and many Nigerians still support the actions of these backward politicians bc of affiliations that doesn't take us anywhere.
