- This is one of the most serious injuries and battles that has ever taken place at Kamp Kenan! Unfortunately, Guapo came up on the short end of the stick and has severe lacerations and loss of skin on multiple parts of his face. This is a life threatening event and you'll never believe how it happened. Here's a hint; it wasn't Lola! Iguanas can be vicious.

How easy it is to be blamed for a crime you didn’t commit. 😢 He was (as was I) so angry at Lola. I shall think of her going forward as Lola the Innocent ❤

When you first showed him, I was shocked and scared for you because Petro looked like he was dead! What a relief that he wasn't! So sorry that Guapo got so badly injured. Hoping and praying for a full recovery for both of them.
As you always said, Kenan: animals are unpredictable. Even with how vigilant and on-task you always are, things can still happen. And i'm glad you document these things, because it's REALISTIC. Being an animal carer is no easy feat, and I think it's only a good thing that you show people how much responsibility it takes. These are not animals to just have on a whim. Even a seasoned professional like yourself has to deal with disaster on occasion. It's a forever learning curve, and you do a fantastic job. Please don't be angry with yourself, this is just another lesson that you've learned and can share with nearly 1 million people. So glad Guapo and the other little guy are okay
Oh... Kenan this is heartbreaking for You and Guapo and Petro . When our kids are hurt, Our whole body and soul takes a huge gut punch. But you know that bad stuff sometimes happens so you keep antibiotics in stock and are ready to help. I am so glad you have Doctor Mike ! 💜 Now you take care of yourself ... please !
I absolutely did NOT see that twist!!! Lola was framed!! She's innocent! Seriously tho, Kenan please don't be too hard on yourself. You go above and beyond for your animals ... this wasn't your fault! You have to keep the balance between your two legged family and your four legged/no legged family and that isn't easy, but you do it! Accidents happen...thank God this wasn't worse. Your iguanas are my favorite on CZcams and i'm so thankful all of them are ok! My stomach fell when i saw the title! Praying for fast healing 🙏🏼💖

I cannot believe you walked in to find the assailant in a similar position to Guapo! At least it wasn’t Lola. Looks like it’s just a matter of upgrading security between the enclosures. You handled this like a pro, thanks for sharing so others can learn! This would be super stressful 😅
O dear...petro is luckily not that wounded and luckily Lola is out of the doghouse. She must have feeling pretty scared. And luckily he protected his girl against petro... such a good boy. After Kenan patched Guapo up towards the end of the video he went to double check Lola n he found Petro out flat on the floor in Guapo n Lola’s side… he has a huge gash down the side of him so got off with a lot less damage than Guapo did… xxxxx
I'm so sorry to see Guapo and Petro hurt. Thank God for Dr. Mike and for the fact that you had all the medical needs at hand. That was so important. I hope and pray they are doing better and that they will make full recoveries. ❤
Don’t beat yourself up! The animals are obviously loved and slip ups happen! You took immediate action and that’s the best you can do! I’m glad Guapo and Petro are doing well and are on the mend. Guapo will still be incredibly handsome!

i have worked with and kept animals all my life and i swear anything that can go wrong WILL go wrong. Thank you for sharing real content and showing what keeping reptiles actually is and how heart breaking, stressful and scary it can be. Hope they are both okay, what a series of events.

Looks rough… hopefully you can treat/sanitize so he’s alright. Definitely tough and hardy tho. As an Former First Responder and Keeper of animals myself. I’m right there with you when it comes to your animals.

I got home from work the other day to my mom freaked out because she went to shut my agama's lights off for the night and she couldn't find him. Turns out he'd crawled behind his rock wall background because he found a seam. I've only had him a little over a week, and thought I'd somehow messed up and left his lid cracked open. They seem to figure out how to freak you out in many ways. Glad that we found him, but for a good 20 minutes it was a frantic search
Always expect the unexpected with them. If there is a compromise in there environment, they will find it!

Man this broke my heart first Chandlers King Cobra Kevin passed away and then to see Guapo and Petro are injured and my heart dropped when Petro wasn't moving. We get so attached to these wonderful creatures of yours we feel your worry and concern. Praying both boys will be ok

I know what you mean about the feelings you have after you’ve had animals stolen. I had a 5 year old pit bull stolen from me a few years ago! I got him back 2 months later and he passed 2 weeks after I got him back from a heart attack. Now I have cameras everywhere and a very expensive security system. I still have ptsd and if I leave my dogs in the yard I can’t enjoy going places because I am always worried about my pups! I hope all your animals have a full speedy recovery!

Man I know ur pain, I had rescued a male sugar glider that had a broken hip. He was used as a breeder and I talked the owner into selling him to me. This lil boy was so sweet and friendly I didn't want him to be alone so I slowly introduced him to a female glider I had. He was so interested in her but she wasn't having it, well long story short she bit his hand and days later his hand was 3x it's normal size. He developed an infection and unfortunately passed from it, I felt so horrible 😔 u really do have to keep an eye on females when trying to introduce them to a mate.

We’re in the same boat! I got home after work to find my 32 year old horse looking like he had a run in with Freddy Kruger! He has a larger than a credit card sized gash on his forehead. It’s too late to close so I shall spend my mornings doing wound care as it slowly heals.

Thankfully he's alive, hopefully the vet can give you medication for the damages to his face. Keep them separated for good. We don't wanna lose him.

Glad you caught it,don't beat yourself up you could be home and same thing happen . It's fixed they should get better , live and learn is all you can do. I have a young male lewisi because of you and a few others , watching helps to learn mostly what to do right but sometimes bad things happen and knowing how to fix them is key.❤

With any creature under our care, we always have to be vigilant cuz they do a lot of crazy/mischievous/ dumb things!
Don't feel guilty, Kenan! You are allowed to have a life, and you do a great job of trying to keep some balance while still being on top of your animals' care.

Just a quick FYI I'm sure you probably already know this, but even though Maggots are gross to look at, they are actually really good at cleaning and debriding wounds because they only eat necrotic (dead) tissue. We actually use them in the hospital for cleaning wounds and wound care. Of course the maggots they use in the hospital are specifically bred under sterile conditions so there are no dirty flies laying them in people's wounds. 😊
So, just keep in mind that the maggots themselves are not bad for a wound.
However, the wounds definitely need to be cleaned and I'm sure the flies that laid the eggs weren't clean. It's so nice to see how much you love and care for your animals!
I truly appreciate these videos that show the reality of what you do. It is also plain to see how much you care about these animals. It is sickening to see some people online doing things for shock value or just reading from an emotionless script. I'm proud to follow your reptile-keeping journey, the good and the bad days, as it shows the reality of keeping these beautiful animals. We need more genuine people like you.

See folks for many of you that are either new or don't know, 🤔 but Lola has a very violent past. She attacked and took another male Iguana's leg years ago(he's been rehomed by Kenan,to another close friend of his, he's alot bigger than both Lola and Guapo currently) but dude, this can't keep happening...

Joys of owning pets its always a roller coaster of joy and pain
I know my dog mysteriously got into chocolate and I am vigilant about making sure he can't the little snot got into it on a walk with my mom and he's too fast for her to get it away from him I am also autistic I love my animals and I didn't discover it till it was too late I had my mom rush me and him to the vet because I can't drive I still don't have a license yet I had to live on 6 hours of sleep or less a day and fueled by 12 cup pots of coffee back when that happened years ago staying up nights so he wouldn't have accidents in the house it really stressed me out and scared me what happened after the vet my sister picked us up from the hospital thanks to doctor Bayouth for saving his life if you are in Lawrence Kansas I recommend animal hospital of Lawrence And I am so grateful my baby boy is still alive he was really young when that happened and he is 15 Lords willing he reaches 16 and then some that little snot almost gave me a heart attack my sister took me to Starbucks after and got us both coffees I miss having her live in the same city as me

My blood pressure spiked a good 25 points when I saw Guapo lying there. But I am so glad that he is living and in recovery, him and Petro both.

*@heyher_the_odd* you are 💯 correct on on Lola aka Lolita being a rough and tough savage: about 3 years ago she and Guapo got into it(that was the last update,and she was literally out for blood) Kenan tried his best to help a than "injured" Guapo to reassert and re-established himself however again Lola was still trying to Jaw fence him and apparently she was still mad ASF at him..

I read the thumbnail about two days ago,but after King Kevin (Chandler) and poor liccle Archer (Bellowing Acres) dying,I didn't want to put myself through the tragedy of Guapo.I absolutely adore Guapo and am so pleased that he's probably 🤞 going to be OK.Phew !I have to inject myself 4 times a day,but can't imagine the strength needed to inject through iguana skin ! Instead of a syringe for wound flushing, I use a tattoo wash bottle. It works so much better, better control and no constant refilling of the syringe! For larger animals, I use a pump sprayer when a hose isn't practical. The tattoo wash bottles are available on Amazon.
