  • For the 6th time in his career, LeBron James has had at least 500 points, 150 rebounds, and 150 assists in a single playoff run. For context, Larry Bird is the only other player to have ever accomplished this. He did it in 1987. Hear what Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe have to say about LeBron's impressive new stat.

    • @Robrr89
      @Robrr89 Před 3 lety +5

      Miller5991 bro it’s not that just because they were physical they were better. Because of the physicality it was more difficult to score in the paint. Name some elite interior defenders in the league now? There isn’t any major interior defense in this era, that’s why it’s easier to score more.

    • @Rileylmao_
      @Rileylmao_ Před 3 lety +11

      Yo_Rishi its easier to score in the paint because theres more fouls and the floor is more spread, if you think its easier to score in general you don’t understand how defense works in today’s game

    • @Robrr89
      @Robrr89 Před 3 lety +1

      Ghost2000 in the 90’s the 3pt shot wasn’t heavily influenced. They only shot about 9.5 3’s per game. Today they average 21 per game. That’s a double in 3pt pointers. That doesn’t mean you have deadlier shooters. That just means you shoot more. It’s relativity bro. MJ 3p% is 32.7% and the league at that time averaged 33%. MJ is an average 3pt shooter. Lebron is 34.4% and the league averages 35.5%. So relative to the individual and league Lebron is below average. Where as Jordan is about average. You may not see an issue. But there is a difference. So if Jordan played today he’d probably average 35.2% if you take that into account to him being about average 3pt shooter. Regardless he’s still a better 3p shooter than Lebron.
      The 90’s had excellent on ball defenders this including Hand checking which gave the ability to dictate the movement of the ball handler, which actually made for great perimeter defenders. Mike, Pip, Dumars, Harper, Starks, Bowen, Kidd, even Kobe just to name a few. Now you can’t hand check and the shooters have free range to do what they please due to shooters safety. So if you don’t have as much pressure or limitations you can of course shoot the lights out.

      Kawhi: 2 championships, 2 finals MVP, 2 DPOY
      Giannis: 2 MVP, 1 DPOY
      Harden: 1 MVP, 3 scoring leader
      Westbrook: 1 MVP, 2 scoring leader

He stated that when Kobe's career was over that he would be the GOAT. I think Kobe is better than Lebron. Lebron has been the one threatened. He was threatened with Harden, Curry, Durant, they dominated at one time or another during Lebron's so called era. Just like with Kobe, people get caught up in the now. I personally think they are close, accomplishments Jordan, never choked and impressive in every finals, most finals MVP, and was one or not the best two-player with scoring and 3rd of all time in steals, people forget that, James is talent, Jordan has plenty of talent, however Lebron has done things that is unheard of, statistically, best stats next to Wilt, the only knock is 3-6 and Mavericks finals, besides that that’s it. If I had to give the nod it will be Jordan slightly for now; however, if Lebron 3-peats or wins 3 more rings in general, then Lebron will be the Goat and that would be without question

      Jordan NEVER amounted to squat without Pippen and HOF coach Phil Jackson. And people forget Jordan saved by Kerr and Kukoc MANY times. Magic and Bird made him look silly OFTEN. People also forget when Jordan left the league, the Bulls went to the ECF WITHOUT him. No LeBron team would make the playoffs without him. Jordan is OVERRATED. "Explain 3-6 in the Finals."
    -because goat james faced superior nba finals team than MJ? On goat james 10 finals game, his team is 7 times the underdog. The only finals his team is the favorite are vs thunder, vs mavs, and vs heat. MJ Bulls is always the superteam on all his 6 finals games. If MJ met the warriors four times and the spurs two times the way Lebron faced them, MJ finals record will be 0-6.

      facts

    • @Taiakun
      @Taiakun Před 3 lety +3

      I acknowledge that while championships are a useful measure of a player's success, their success rate boils down to many factors outside of the superstar's control.
      Take MJ for example in some key moments of the NBA finals:
      - 1991 Finals game 5: Paxson scores 10 points in the final 6 minutes as the Bulls went from down 3 in the 4th quarter to win it by 7 at full time.
      - 1992 Finals game 6: Bulls were down 15 heading into the 4th quarter. With MJ on the bench, Scottie Pippen and four bench players brought it back to a 3 point deficit before MJ finally checked back in.
      - 1993 Finals game 2: Pippen blocked a game-tying 3 pointer to seal the win.
      - 1992 Finals game 6: Paxson hit the game winner and Grant blocked the last second shot down the other end.
      - 1997 Finals game 6: Steve Kerr hit the dagger 3, Scottie Pippen knocked away an inbounds pass and Kukoc dunked to seal the win.
      I'm not knocking against MJ's legacy as he had major contributions as well and fully deserved all six championships. However, it needs to be acknowledged that a lot has to go right to win a championship, as well as a lot could easily go wrong (injuries, roster issues etc). Hence I never liked the whole 3-6 vs 6-0 narrative.

    • @iivanov1948
      @iivanov1948 Před 3 lety

      MJ hasn't been on the underdog team, because he was the one making the Bulls super favorites in every final. MJ was FEARED, he was the guy that no one wanted as an opponent.
