  • One of the final decor elements in Ellie's Bedroom Makeover was to add decorative pillows. We thought that Bolster pillows would add a perfect touch to her French country daybed. While we both have done quite a bit of sewing through the years we had never made a bolster pillow, but we discovered it's easier than it looks. Just follow along with our step by step tutorial with video and see how easy it is to get professional results.
    This easy DIY project shows you how to measure and make your own custom bolster pillow, as well as install a zipper for a removable cover and a clean look.

    Thank you for addressing the seam allowance. So many youtubers don't. Much appreciated.

    Thank you for this! Informative and thorough.
    Note to self when I go to sew my bolster, sew the piece of fabric under the zipper, as this step was omitted at first.

      Thanks so much Sandy! Yes, sometimes we get ahead of ourselves while filming...we even often tend to jumble over our words and think we've said things then realize later we haven't. 😳

    Hello! Why do you cut the fabric on the biase when preparing the piping? Does it make a big difference if you don't?

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  Před 2 lety

      Hey Molly, thanks so much for watching! Yes it truly does make a difference to cut on the biase! It will allow the fabric to stretch better which will make it easier to work with and go around the corners. Hope that helps.

    Where did you get the stuffing for the bolster pillow?

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  Před 2 lety

      We actually found our pillows at a thrift store and made new coverings. You could try an upholstery shop, they usually have better quality foam, batting, etc. than the typical fabric, craft stores

    Misleading, You don't show how to make the pillow, just the cover. Should change your title to cover.

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  Před 11 měsíci

      We're so sorry that the title is misleading, we will make that change right now. Thanks for pointing that out, as it was not our intent.
