We always take our child with us when we travel. My husband often goes to conferences worldwide, and we always accompany him. This is how we vacation. :D Our child loves to fly and travel. His first trip was at the age of 6 months, and his first overseas trip was at the age of 3. And you know, he doesn't remember all the trips, but not only do we remember, but his personality will also be different because of them. Even if he doesn't remember each day, these trips change him and become part of his personality.

Only 11 mins in but two things.... we do that sock trick but I also have 3 kids so each kids white sock is a little different so I don't have a trouble separating each kids socks. But they own all the same ones. It has saved me so much time and head ache. And second, we had the car monitor with all my kids. I found my kids got extra car sick with mirrors. The car camera monitor also is (in my opinion less distraction then trying to get a good view of the mirror from your rear view. The monitor is where it's at.
I used to work in a factory where we had white uniforms so socks were no problem pairing. All that same brand 🤣. Loving your videos Michelle and Rye is so adorable and growing so fast .
if you live in Texas like I do, you can take out some short sleeve shirts too because it's still hot here in December
Michelle, I love your videos not only for the motivation but for the advice and stories. I believe children should be taken to restaurants, shows, etc so they learn how to act in public. At the same time, as soon as they begin to fuss, I removed them from the restaurant or show because it wasn't fair to others. But if you don't expose your children to new experiences, how will they learn? We traveled a lot when my kids were little. First child-easy going, no issue. Second, once routine was changed, she was miserable. But we got thru it and she learned, eventually :).
I needed that encouragement and advice for traveling with toddlers. Our family is scattered all over the place so we have to travel to see them. Which is a non negotiable but super overwhelming. We have flown a couple times last year with our kiddo and it was no Bueno. And now we have 3 round trips coming up in the next 2 months not to mention the out of routine sleeping arrangements so I'm anxious. But thank you for the encouragement because my momma heart needed it. And great video!

This was so motivating for me to get organizing around my house especially my closet , I for sure need the car monitor I'm a care taker for my sister she has seizures she doesn't feel them coming to have some thing like that will be perfect not just for babies

i got rid of all my socks and just bought two packs of puma socks for costco and they are all the same and dont need to be matched and its amazing

i declutter every season
My two concepts for traveling with kids are:
1) I won't travel at all before 3 months because I want my child vaccinated. I limit travel before 6 months.
2) I pay close attention to my child's needs while we travel. You can sometimes see a tantrum forming. Maybe even usually. I can see when my son is getting tired and having a harder time listening, or overstimulated and getting out of hand. On road trips, I try to plan for running and moving stops. (Note: I will probably never pick a Macdonald's play place ever again after my son got a stomach bug AND a cold from one. 🤦 That was a fun trip.) And for air travel, I pack lots of entertainment.
I also make a huge effort to communicate my expectations BEFOREHAND. For instance, "We will be in a plane with other people. You may NOT kick the chair in front of you, and you must NOT be loud. We're all stuck in a small space. You can tell me anything you need in a quiet voice and I'll make sure you have lots to do." Or "At the restaurant, you MUST stay in your seat and use an inside voice."

Nice things and clothes...i love the video
They don't have to be white, but color coding people is great for socks too. I have a certain color of darn tough socks, my daughter another, and my son has all black cotton socks.... Over the years others have creeped in again from their Dad's, but it works well to not need to match for each person, and it is easily identifiable between people too.
Even with teenagers.
What kind of car did you ended up getting? I remember a while back your were talking about it but unsure. I recently bought a Yukon and love it! Curious what you got for your family of 5.
