Whenever I see a CleanTuber who seems too perfect, I don't watch and don't follow. I'm not here for staged content or perfection. I'm 💯 here for the moms who are just getting it together, decluttering for the first time, juggling three kids, a dog, and the house. 💯 here for you, and Becky, and Jamie, and Joanna.

Hi Michelle! I’m Dana. I live in North Central Indiana. I just recently found your channel and absolutely love it!! I’ve even went back and have watched some of your older ones. Even tho I’m in my 50’s ( ugh)! Lol I love your content. I can relate even though it’s been a minute since I’ve had littles at home. I love your honestly, how real and relatable you are. I too have fallen into the comparison trap. I feel so less than. I do not have a big beautiful home, I still don’t have it all together and I really feel down on myself. But your talk today was really inspiring! Thank you so much!
I hope you and baby are doing well! And your girls are so precious💗
    Have an amazing week❤️🦋
Edited to add,,,, I hope I didn’t upset you by sticking up for you. I honestly wasn’t trying to start anything. I’m a very passive person but have no tolerance to rudeness. There is no need for grown women to get in here and be so rude! We all need to stick together!!

Mama of older kiddos (13,11 and 9) - two girls and a boy - and I just wanted to encourage you that it’s absolutely so normal to buy too many cute little girl clothes and there will come a time so quickly when they will only wear what they want and the fun of picking out precious little outfits is passed. So enjoy it!! Love your channel!

Michelle, I have found your channel to be more real in the sense of realistic than most channels who show cleaning videos. As a mom, I can relate so much! And there are so many things that I would like to accomplish which I haven’t yet. But I just take a grateful attitude to be thankful for what I have. I would suggest that you spend more time creating content based on where you are currently in life because we all can relate much more. Be confident! You are doing a great and outstanding job!

I’m a fairly new subscriber so I don’t think I’ve commented… but great video, and I appreciate how honest you are. It’s refreshing and relatable. I think you are doing amazing and I can’t wait to see how the rooms turn out when the swap is done… my only “tip(s)” I have for laundry is if you spend one day getting caught up on all the laundry as tedious as it seems, you can reset and then upkeep is a lot easier only having to do it every couple days. I also got a large capacity washer and dryer so I trick my mind into thinking it’s only one load when in reality if it was a smaller washer it would be almost 2 loads. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

OMGSH, sweetheart I don't know how YOU do it all. You gotta give yourself some grace. You're fixing to have 3 children, you hold down a job outside of CZcams and you take care of your family and home. You ROCK! I completely understand about comparing yourself to others, because I have been there and still am sometimes. I think that we all do to some extent. You absolutely rock, little momma.
I'm so happy that I found your channel. I can't get enough. Lol.
Oh, and I do at least 1 load of laundry every single day. That's how I stay caught up. I'm sure that's way harder for a larger family.
    Love your videos! XOXO'S

  • @773elim
    @773elim Před 2 lety

I also recommend doing laundry every single day just to keep up, so that laundry does not pile up and for it not to get to a point where there is so much clothes to fold and put away.
Find a way to make laundry a reinforcing task for you where you find a reward or you would be happier that you did it, that the laundry baskets are empty again, that the clean clothes smell good, and are either folded in the drawers or hanged in the hangers. This is reinforcing for me. I also look at laundry as a stress reliever, because there are many things I cannot control, but laundry is something that I am grateful that I get to do. I am grateful that I do not have to do laundry by hand. I am grateful for my washer and dryer and laundry detergent. : )
I really enjoy the bits about having a positive attitude and perspective that you have shared in your videos. I would consider laundry as a positive activity! : )

I heard a comment recently…about trying to be TOO efficient. I didn’t even realize I was doing it. Example: when cleaning, I’d look in my arms and I’d have 10+ items to put away in an attempt at saving steps. But it was making my brain split 10 different ways and the whole efficiency I was going after was lost. Silly, but I realized I was doing it in many areas of my life, such as work and whatnot. I think it’s coming from a lack mindset: I don’t have enough energy to meet my life, so I have to get as efficient as possible to meet my obligations. I believe I started doing it after developing autoimmune thyroid disease after having my first child. Eye opening for me.

    Hey Michelle,
You are doing an amazing job. I love how real you are with everything and you are motivating. So for the laundry factor I have 5 kids and of course my husband's laundry to get done, plus all the other stuff like towels. So how my laundry routine works is each person gets a day to do their laundry. So I have 3 teenagers and 2 babies. So the teenagers do their own laundry but every once in a while I do their laundry. So I find with such a large family I find this works best. Yes it is doing laundry pretty much everyday but the loads are smaller and I can get them down in the morning and have the rest of the day to do anything else. What you could do is have one day to do the kids clothes, one day for your and your husband's clothes and then one day for everything else. What helped me so the loads weren't so big was I took only 2 weeks worth of clothes for each kid and I kept it out for them. So this would include like 14 pairs of pants, and 14 shirts. So depending on the weather of your state you could include like shorts, long sleeve, etc. So how it would work is they use a week's worth of clothes then you do their laundry and they are using their next set of clothes. Now with kids they get dirty and rip things and probably have accidents so having extra is great but I would maybe do 2 extra of everything. Set a boundary for yourself. So for any extra clothes you do have set them aside and if you are finding you need more then take more out, if you are finding you don't need it then after a while say 3 months donate it, or give it to someone you trust or could use it. Now as kids get older they do end up having less because they do less play, and more hanging out and things stay clean more often or because they are teenagers they end up having like their favorite pair of pants, sweater, etc and they wear like all the time. You are doing great and I know you will find your routine that works for your family. I hope that helps you into finding what might work for you.

I have found over my many, many years of doing laundry that I do the laundry on Mondays, laundry only and a few small chores in between. That way, I can fold clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer and put them away immediately. I gather all the laundry, turn all the clothes right side out, unroll socks, check pockets, sort by color. Sort all the kids clothes together, then yours and the hubs. If I have a lot of jeans I will wash them together. Towels together. Bedding together. It just depends on what is easier for you. Now with a family of 5 you may need to designate a second day during the week or get all the laundry caught up then do one load daily. I can't wait to see baby boy!

Great video! I really enjoy how real you are. I was a single mom of two who are a year apart & both my son and daughter both had (have) tons of clothes. I struggled with working full time, keeping the house clean, laundry done and having quality time with my kids. What I did was designate a day to each persons laundry. When they were small, I did theirs together and mine on a different day. I made it a habit and added it to my schedule on the same days each week. As they got older, I gave them their own laundry day & now that they're responsible for their own laundry, we still do it that way.

I totally agree with having more clothes in the first few years, because of them letting you dress them. 100% how both my girls have been! I have a 4 year old and 2 year old. My 4 year old became vvvvvv picky around 3 and clothing options she was willing to wear was very limited 🫠 My 2 year old is slightly less picky, but she still continues to pick like the same 10 clothing items over and over haha.
And like you, I don’t fight them on it! Not worth a power struggle. As long as they don’t look ridiculous and feel comfortable, we’re good 😂

I don't like doing laundry, and I find it easier when I have less clothes. I still launder what ever basket gets full first, like you do. The more clothes you have, the bigger piles you get. Bigger piles = bigger anxiety. Seriously, less clothes does not mean more laundry!!

My mom had five children and she taught me to do one load a day no matter what. I only had one child but during the crazy times of the flu, when he worked and changed his clothes frequently as well as my husband I always had laundry caught up. I would go around each morning and gather laundry from all your children and combine the loads. You’ll find it’s much easier to get your laundry caught up then trying to do it later. ❤️especially when your son comes. Babies make extra laundry.

Thanks for the talk today! I find that I do the same thing and start comparing myself with others when they are in different stages of their lives! I’m going to take the advice you’ve given and try to be more confident in the things I do well and the little achievements!! I have 2 boys and they definitely have less clothing than girls but I do have to buy more often because they can tear up a shirt, pair of jeans, even shoes so fast. One week my younger son ruined 3 pairs of jeans..how I still don’t know!! My boys are 8 and almost 6 and dressing them is still so easy! I know it will change at some point but right now it’s nice not having to stress too much about dressing them 😊 also as far as laundry goes I do try and out 1 load in a day or every other day but I don’t always get to the folding and putting away part of it until the weekend. I feel like when I do a little each day I don’t get stuck with a ton of laundry on the weekend when I want to do fun things with the kids!! If you get any amazing tips on laundry though you’ll have to share!!

  • @courtneynicolesolem9712

I have three kiddos. 8,6,2.5 (two boys and a girl)
All of my kids have a ton of clothes. I wait until their baskets get full. My daughters basket is smaller than my two boys bc there is two of them. I do my kids laundry about once a week. Usually in the same day. As two separate loads. My husband and I separate our lights and darks. So I usually do darks a couple times a week and lights about once. I take a day to also do sheets and towels in one day. So usually I have laundry going 4 days a week. I am a stay at home mom and I do not work. My daughter doesn’t go to school yet, so a lot of my day is consumed in being with her. I’ve gotten to the point though that if toys are everywhere then they’ll be everywhere. Because tomorrow they’ll be there again. I’d rather stay on top of laundry and keeping my kitchen clean than picking up the same toys that will be out the next day.

Your theory on bamboo sheets is correct just aim for anything other than Polyester because it doesn’t last long and isn’t really breathable aim for percale Egyptian cotton bamboo etc and a thread count above 300 /500 because it’s the quality of the material that’s more important good quality material dosnt require a high thread count to be exception because you could get rubbish polyester and a thread count of over a thousand and it’s diabolical feels like sandpaper but you could buy the good quality materials that I’ve mentioned and have a 300/500 thread count that feels exceptional washes beautifully and last for years and feels brand new with every wash

Does your husband have any relatives in Philadelphia? The far Northeast? It’s a good part of Philadelphia.

Correctly?… why isn’t she moving furniture? Maybe because she’s 8 months pregnant? Or she’s not deep cleaning?…

@@ceecee2304 or, she just doesn't want to, 😂. Sometimes, I let stuff slide if I'm tired or just not that in to it.

Help yourself out by making your bed as soon as you get up. The girls are not too young to pick up after themselves. You'd have a lot less work everyday especially with a new baby coming. Same with your husband. There's no reason why he can't put his dirty clothes in the hamper. Every one should help. Your girls will be better housekeepers when they're older if you teach them now to pick up and and as they get older you can give them simple little cleaning jobs. That's what I did with my 2 girls and 1 son and they are extremely neat and organized adults.
