OH YES YOU CAN!!! She covered it up!!!! That makes HER an aider and abetter of CRIMINALS!!! It makes HER as bad as the perpetrators!!! Of course your can blame her!!
"oh my hero would never do that, butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, she's the shining lady, could do absolutely no wrong in my eyes even if she did do it i won't believe it" - the mentality is not only shocking but shameful, absolutely shameful.

I am from liverpool and i am working class my dad hates thatcher for alot of reason's mainly the ruining of thousand's of lives by means of outsourcing the mining/steel company's and the privatisation of basic essentials such as local transport, utilities and ofcourse 96 but being asthough i was not here during her time in office this is the only world i know the one that thatcher moulded all that said i cannot help but totally and utterly admire her for having such character and conviction.

the poor didnt get poorer... all levels of income rose...
furthermore she wasnt the only western leader to support Pinochet and she was thankful for his support for Britain against the Fascist Junta in Buenos Aires... Thatcher in fact met with Mandela, so she couldnt have thought him that much of a terrorist if she met with him, she was just against the militancy of the ANC and sanctions against SA.
and Privatisation is a good thing, why the hell should the State own everything!?!

Seems fashionable to hate her these days. Looking at the facts I can't help but feel she had many difficult decisions to make and for the most part got them right. Not all but most. And about her 'lack of compassion,' there are lots of examples of personal acts of compassion to friends and family, and I don't blame her for not showing too much compassion publicly, in that political arena you would get eaten alive.

She knew many of her followers were easily younger than her, yet voted for her. Reagon did much of the same thing. May they both rest in peace. Both Epic and BOTH did what they were supposed to do, fix England and the other- fix the USA. With love from the State of Arizona's Central Arizona College in THE USA! -from a Mormon's mind.

My issue with thatcher is she seems to have been the one that sold British industry down the river and made us rely on an unstable services sector. Wouldn't it have been better if we had gone more down germany's route and kept our manufacturing. For example you look at the British car industry compared to America, Japan, South Korea and our European neighbours. Almost all of our so called British car companies are owned by foreign companies and its quite sad to see.

A few fact about "Maggie" that her admirers are ashamed of (or should be)
    > An avid supporter of Augusto Pinochet - a convicted war criminal and avowed fascist.
    > Thought of Nelson Mandela as a terrorist and said so publicly until her opinions lost her votes.
    > Presided over the biggest hand over of public wealth to the private sector in British history. She was England's Boris Yeltsin (without the booze).
    > Did not improve UK unemployment to any significant degree. The poor got poorer.

The opening title is mis-spelled as thatheritescot.
I feel she was vastly over-rated as a Prime Minister. She benefitted from a divided and largely ineffective opposition. Her main economic goal was to conquer inflation. Yet the rate was the same when she left office. Unemployment became really shocking - 35% male unemployment in my town when I left school in 1983. Mrs. Thatcher deserves credit for being the first female PM and for making some moves towards ending the Cold War. On many other issues, she was wrong.

Simply a monster. Destroying industry. Monetarism, Poll Tax, Spiteful relationship with EU. She could have been a great. Sadly, she didn't have the self awareness to have the humility or the understanding of her own hubris. Her legacy is.......
