Jason Kidd is an American basketball coach and former player currently serving as the head coach for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. Recognized as one of the premier point guards and passers in basketball history, Kidd boasts an impressive resume. He was selected to the NBA All-Star team 10 times, named to the All-NBA First Team five times, and earned a spot on the NBA All-Defensive Team nine times. Additionally, Kidd clinched an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 and secured two gold medals with the U.S. national team in the 2000 and 2008 Olympics. His stellar career led to induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and in October 2021, he was honored as one of the NBA's greatest players by being named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Kidd began his journey in basketball at the collegiate level, playing for the California Golden Bears before being drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 1994 as the second overall pick. He earned co-NBA Rookie of the Year honors in his debut season alongside Grant Hill.
