I would never buy a Tesla.
You don't need to own a Tesla for Elon to be relevant to your life. His factories drive economies, which directly or indirectly may well filter into your life in some way. Without Tesla, thousands of people may be searching for jobs, which means more money from the state to feed those looking for work. Also, there would be less tax money going to the gov't, which may impact on the cost of living and cuts in services.
As much as some people might despise large companies and wealthy owners, they are necessary. They provide jobs for people to put food on the table.

@@susanyeadon6657 Well I had to make that distinction, because the "West" comprises of a lot of nations, several European nations fall into it as well, which may include my country, and my native Switzerland isn't like America either. Our rhetoric on social and political issues are more grounded and, fingers crossed, hopefully will continue to remain that way so long as we keep teaching and educating properly our citizens and our children.

Generally, the richer peoplpe provide the jobs for the less well off, but then the less well off have to have the desire to want more, learn and build their own wealth. Jobs are paid learning opportunities: get a job that requires skills, and then get paid to learn how to be better and gain more in-demand skills. After that, people can risk all of their money, and perhaps their houses to start a business and start employing people themselves. After some success, they too will become the subject of complaints about the rich.

Not many people could make the cesspool of humanity that is twitter into a worse place, but Elon, you did it!
There was a discussion about how Twitter is literally turning people into the worse version of themselves. We get to see this in real time with people that we used to respect. And everyday I'm proud of the deliberate choice I make not to be on any of these social media platform. Aside from certain specialized professional networks, I only have Google and CZcams, and I find I'm happier because of it.

Electric cars are a sham anyway. I could drive 5 diesel F250's to the end of their lives before I made a carbon footprint that making and ultimately destroying one electric car battery makes. Not to mention the price of said batteries, lack of distance, time to charge, and price of electricity. I will never have a use for one even if I could afford it. My work requires the power and diatance of the F250.

Since Elon brought up the Princess Bride, the reporter should have asked if Elon is seeking revenge for something he thinks Soros did. If Elon isn't seeking revenge, I don't think he understood that scene in the movie.
That whole....."moment".......in the clip was entirely discrediting to Musk. He came accross as completely infantile and deranged. A fair accounting, I'd say.
It's possible Musk was seeking revenge. From stories I read today Soros's investment management company recently divested itself of all its holdings in Tesla stock. That may be what prompted some feelings of resentment by Musk and inspired him to seek revenge against Soros. Musk is a small minded man, and I imagine he would act like this on the slimmest pretext.

Back when it was "hot news" that Elon Musk was going to buy Twitter, I thought that was solid evidence of him NOT actually being any kind of genius, but little did I know hos bad it really was. He now seems like a seriously despicable character. What a guy, right?
To me "why share it?" is a valid question, followed by more in debt questions about his beliefs. More interesting was his answer to that question which gives a bit of insight into his way of thinking. He said "I am allow so say whatever I want and if it costs him money, so be it", now he's not wrong in his statement and it will cost him. However, to me the key word out of all he said is "I" as in "I" can and will do as I please; behavior and words of that of a child that's been spoiled rotten.
