- Crop destruction??? Let's look a little deeper at if farmers get paid to destroy their crops. No we don't! No farmer would destroy their crops anyhow and the government wouldn't be able to afford to pay farmers to destroy their crops, it would cost a lot of tax dollars.

I remember the middle sixties, we moved to the country. Farm across the street was used as an auto repair and junkyard, but they had so many acres, the children told me the government paid them not to grow wheat. All they had to do was keep it mowed. So once a week they brush hogged all those acres. Don't know if it was true or not. God Bless!
All I can say is none of the farms I have ever worked on nor our own farm has ever been paid to destroy a crop. The govt will pay you to plant crp but then you can't use that ground or even mow it until that contract ends. Also there is no documentation anywhere on any govt sites or in USDA offices on any programs like that either
It did. Where my late grandfather had dry farmed wheat until he died around 1961. His wife and children voted to sell since his only son wanted to try something else. Good thing. He and his wife kept in contact with their friends in the town and that is how we leaned about it. Devastating for many in the town.
Bro, there are videos oand social media posts of farmers and rancher's talking about how much the government is paying them to destroy their crops, and how they're being threatened with loss of subsidies if they don't.

Epiphany! The problem is and has always been farmers. You give a man some land to farm, you give him pride. He feels proud of his crops, he sells and makes enough $ to buy some tractors. He can now hire workers but because it’s his land, his seeds, his tractors he feels entitled. Now we know farmers are the worst greedy and cheap employers. They always were. They pump watermelon full of water and sell fruit by the lb. And other tricks. They don’t want equality because it’s not nature to want less. We will always want more. When we get so rich money no longer matters. It becomes about not losing power! The entitlement comes with the belief you know better than others. It’s disgusting! It’s sick! Land entitlement was never fair to begin with. If it were, there’d be more African homeowners in Africa. If it were Aboriginal Indians in the west could farm their own land!
You realize this is satire. Secondly no one gives us land. My wife and I work full time jobs off our farm to buy land, equipment, and everything in between to get our farm up and running. However if farmers are such a problem no one is stopping you from buying your own land, livestock, seed, fertilizer, fuel, equipment, etc to grow all your own food.
No one gives anyone anything I spent 14 years never eating out or going on vacation a movie once or twice a year was the kids big outing in order to buy our house. I don’t know what world you live on but everything your saying absolutely makes no sense. My husband since he was 17 lives his life by getting up at 4 am everyday work 6 to 7 days a week, why? Because we wanted our own home an our own land which will take till we are nearly on the way out of the world to ever pay off to actually be our own. The people your talking about are the politicians and the ceos of the 5 major brands the people that own everything.
This is the exact reason that we have a CZcams Farm channel so that people can see how hard a first generation farmer works. And first generation Farmers aren't the only ones working hard every farmer is working hard and nothing is given to them. It blows my mind that people will read a title of a video but never watch the content to understand what is going on and then we'll make an uneducated uninformed comment. Either Destroy crops or lose Government subsidies so farmers are getting “paid” to destroy crops. Not saying you but others.
Subsidies are paid to row crop farmers in order to help keep the cost of food down

Well, what did you find out?
@@FreedomFarmsMo It highlighted the disconnect of how much the general non farming public (including myself) know about farming. One farmer said that the government was going to use "Agent Orange" to get rid of his crops. Others talked about using lawn mowers which apparently isn't plausible. So yeah I found out it was a hoax. I had also looked for documentation and didn't find any.
I agree alot of folks don't know alot about farms and how they operated. Yes growincorn2020 started that hoax as a joke to prove very few people know anything about how farms work. He was the one that talk about using agent orange to kill crops too. However I am happy to see someone actually research and see that programs like that don't exist instead of just sharing a video and making more people believe it's a thing when it isn't. I also hope you will stick around and learn about our farm and how it operates. I would love to have you as a regular viewer.

But isn't that the part of the wheat that animals eat?
Sage grass is not the same as wheat and the portion of wheat harvested for animals is the stem after the wheat seed has been harvested. That is called straw and is typically used for bedding as it has little to no nutritional value at the stage in it's life just like the sage grass you saw in the video. Sage grass, when living and growing has a bitter taste to it which makes animals desire it less too.
