I think the tailights look incomplete and on the big accord out of place compared to the smaller civic.
The front headlights are great, but the grill number, shield, lower bumper is a bit muchand looks disjointed to some if they just looked at the cleaner fronts on the Mazda 6 and Ford Fusion, etc.
The side no loger has full chromw surrounds like accords of old and no coupe, and looks like a crosstour and civic too much and not its own car.
      Still a great car though.
      Interior looks great.

-- The 1.5 comes with Goodyear tires.
-- The 2.0 comes with Michelin tires.
The Michelin tires are better, in that they will take turns better.
If you never push the car hard into a turn, then you will not notice any difference. But the Goodyear tires will break loose before the Michelin tires. Otherwise, they are the same size, same life expectancy (500 treadwear rating -- although that value can have a different meaning from one manufacturer to another), same traction rating ("A", which is wet road stopping in a straight line traction), and same temperature rating ("A"), which is how well they dissipate heat.
-- The 2.0 comes with a remote starter. The 1.5 does not.
-- The 2.0 has larger brakes than the 1.5.
-- The 2.0 has a 10-speed, traditional transmission. The 1.5 has a CV transmission. (both cars are available with manual transmissions, too)
-- The 2.0 has a trunk release button on the rear of the car (I do not believe that the 1.5 has that button). Both cars can open the trunk from a button on the door or on the remote.
Get the optional cargo net, installed by the dealer. It kind of sucks, compared to other nets in other cars, due to its placement in the trunk. But it works. Without it, if you put shopping bags in the trunk, they will slide all over the place.
-- The stereo is not good. Also, it is not bad. Honda did a nothing special job with the stereo. Either they cut corners to save a few dollars, or the person in charge of that department is clueless.
Some people will like how it sounds. If it makes them happy -- great. But Honda dropped the ball, because they could have tuned the stereo components better, and probably for the same price.
    Cheers!

The front fascia is subtly aggressive , yet exhibits a very elegant presence with the integrated LED headlights and fog lights for the sport trims . The rear will eventually grow on you. Though the taillights are awfully reminiscent of the civic design language , the rectangular housed dual-spoke exhausts will make up to present an overall simple and humble cue

we own a red 2017 Sport. I would love to test the 2.0 turbo for comparison. we have had it for a little more than a year ~20k miles. reliable, comfortable and economical are it's strong suits. You aren't going to win many races, but it is a fun car anyway - it handles the curves better than accelerates out of the gate.
After driving the CVT for a year, i would never mate a turbo with it - it seems to keep the RPM in a very narrow band. The turbo engine here has nearly peak torque below 2k RPM. Get out of that range quickly and let it spin. I am partial to the manual gearboxes anyway, so kind of suffering with the CVT. it works fine for groceries, highway wandering, kid taxi and pretty much everything (i'm just not a fan).

I like the touring 2.0 model

  • @NoEgg4u
    @NoEgg4u Před 4 lety +19

Not mentioned in this video is that the "Sport" model has the best handling of any of the Accords (and the 2.0 is best overall, because its Michelin tires have better lateral stability as compared to the Goodyear tires that come on the 1.5).
You are paying for the handling that is engineered into the Sport model. So if you have no plans to ever push the car around a turn, then the sport model is probably not a good choice for you (unless you just prefer its looks, due to its 19" wheels). You can save a bundle and get the LX model. It has good looking wheels. But not as good as the sport model, and the wheels are smaller and do not use low profile tires (which could be good, depending on the type of driver you are and the type of road feel that you want (low profile means that the tires have less sidewall than regular tires)).
This host, while driving the 2.0, kind of made the 1.5 sound like it is slow. It is not. The 1.5 has respectable power. If you drive the 1.5 (and not the 2.0), you will probably be pleased with its power. But if you then drive the 2.0, you might have trouble going back to the 1.5. So if you cannot budget the 2.0, then do not drive it. Once you drive the 2.0, you will not want the 1.5 (and the 1.5 is very good). But if drive a Corvette, you will not think that the 2.0 is very powerful (and it is). So it is all relative.
The Sport model and the Touring model come with low profile tires (great for handling -- taking turns). So there is not too much cushion for absorbing bumps. The suspension is really good. But the problem is if you hit a large pothole, the tires will not have enough space between them and the rims to protect the rims, resulting in breaking a rim.
That push-button shifting is very good, although it does, sometimes, get in your way.
For example, if you want to open your door to look back as you are inching the car backwards, you are out of luck. When the door opens, the car shifts into park. Yes, there is a camera for reverse. But sometimes you need to see something directly. And in bad weather, the camera could be blurred from rain or snow.

I got the 2020 Sport 2.0T with a 6-speed manual, far more fun to drive. It spells security for a woman. Guess your wife isn't interested in learning. Try an automatic with the paddles and see what you think. Personally, I don't care for them

Hands down 2.0T for me. The 2.0T Sport is basically an EX 2.0T with bigger wheels, no side mirror signals, and an optional manual transmission. (I'm surprised that the side mirror signals aren't standard on all trims.) the 1.5T Sport is pretty much an LX with bigger wheels and, again, the option of a manual transmission. Does the 1.5T Sport have a power driver's seat?
Oh, also, the 2.0T has a 6-speaker stereo system, whereas the 1.5T has the 4-speaker system.

basically the 1.5t is built on the LX platform, so it has the most basic of the options. Honda really should have built both sport options on the EX platform, because the LX is lacking in so many ways compared to the EX. The LX gets no proximity key, no remote start, no cross traffic monitor/blind spot monitor, no sun roof, no 8 inch display.. there's probably more, but that was enough for me..

@@IsThatChadHondaReviews Small world for sure....damn. I am actually living in Vista, CA now and wow...what a difference compared to Tacoma Washington ( course, I lived on the east coast most of my life ). I absolutely love the Accord but ill be honest, I purchased it for the traffic I was driving in. I wanted something comfortable that still had some "Umphhh" to it. I am a Honda fan boy and this will be my 5th Honda I've owned. I actually got to drive an Accord when they first came out and loved it ( same with the Civic ). Compared to the SI, they are just different machines. The SI was def more finely tuned for performance, it handled literally every bit as good as my BRZ and the manual was one of the absolutely best I ever owned in my life. The Accord is definitely better for daily life if you live in high traffic areas.....the 10 speed is an absolute beast and considering I have the EX-L with the shitty commuting wheels and tires...the Accord actually holds its own in the corners. I am used to winding mountain roads up in NC mountains so I really know how to push cars into the corners and I have been really impressed with the Accord in that aspect, especially for its size. Overall the Accord with the 2.0T to me is nearly the perfect commuter car for the price but the SI is definitely better if you are looking for a performance oriented machine. In hindsight I Honestly kinda regret trading my SI in for the Accord for that reason because I would rather own a more performance oriented car here in San Diego. I am really thinking about getting a Mazda Miata RF Manual but I haven't made up my mind yet. I would only have a 2019 or above but I may wait another year for the price to drop on the used market as they are still near retail.
