  • Starcraft Holiday - Lazy days on the lake from 1965
Starcraft was founded in 1903 by Arthur E. Schrock in the rural town of Goshen, Indiana. In 1969, Bangor Punta purchased Starcraft and it grew to over 700 employees. Bangor Punta would become the first of five parties to own Starcraft. In 1980, they moved from Goshen to Topeka, Indiana. In the late 80s, Starcraft became part of the Brunswick family of companies, which included Mercury Marine. In 1996 Brunswick Corporation decided to divest itself of Starcraft. Doug Schrock, the son of Harold Schrock who had sold Starcraft, purchased Starcraft Boats. Starcraft's recreational vehicle business was sold to Jayco in the 1990s. Starcraft Marine is now part of the Smoker Craft family of boats based in New Paris, Indiana.

Actually the owners just had it on the water the weekend before filming. They've since had it back out on the lake but we weren't able to be there to film it in action.

Wow beautiful boat! Question do you know if the Holiday was available as an outboard?

Mike- YES, the Holiday was available with an I/O or with an outboard motor. They also came in 18 or 21 foot hull lengths.

How do I lubricate the throttle control? Afraid a hundred springs will pop out. I have one exactly like your buddy's.

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately Jim has passed away and we would not know the answer. Have you tried contacting a historical boat society? Thanks for watching

That engine is not an Iron Duke it's a 153 ci. The Iron Duke was a 151 ci engine made by Pontiac beginning in 1977

You are correct sir, so many people make this mistake. They do look almost identical but have almost no common parts. My thought is Mercruiser requested that on purpose so they could make more money from the parts.
